1501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigerian Father Rejects Son's Gambling Win on: May 28, 2023, 07:18:04 PM
I have a hard time believing this story to be true, but maybe it is...  As the son, I would probably be trying to get emancipated or just run away with the winnings.  While I'm not totally familiar with their situation, I assume that is a life changing amount of money.  I can understand him not wanting his father's beliefs to damage his personal life experience.  I'm still not so sure how real this story is though.  It seems that people sticking to their beliefs when confronted with life changing sums of money is rare and not something I typically run across.
It's probably true that you can rarely find someone who would reject money they or one of their close ones won only because they don't like gambling or find it unethical or religiously bad, because we live in a world where money is everything and you can do literally nothing if you don't have money, and if you have a life-changing amount of money in your hands, you can't throw it away no matter where it has come from.

But, whether rare or not, such people do exist in the world who respect their principles, dignity, and religious beliefs more than anything and they can refuse to take anything in exchange for spoiling any one of these things.
1502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice when you are going a bit far in gaming and betting on: May 28, 2023, 06:36:11 PM
Best form of advice is to quite when you are going too much on a roll, this is because, most at times players think that the ability to chase losses gives Them a chance to recover not knowing that the more you chase after a loss the more you tend to lose more, this is a fundamental truth about gambling losses.
Well, in gambling, the more one gambles, the more the person has a desire to play more, with the thought that every time you fail to gamble again, it is the right opportunity to gamble and win. It goes on and on in the person's mind, and it's left for the person to decide within himself or herself if to stop or not because they are losing so hard. It can be very easy to chase losses because when you want to stop, you will have that inner voice say to you, "Don't leave now; you might win this next round; try this last time." It only takes one who is so self-disciplined and exercises self-control to make the decision to stop when winning seems so tough.
That is the sign of a gambling addict. If things like these keep popping up in your mind:

"Play one more session."
"You will surely win this time."
"You can't lose all the time, this time you will surely manage to win something big and recover everything."

It simply means that you have become addicted to gambling and that is the urge which is keeping you restless and wants you to gamble more even though there is no guarantee that you will actually win but your mind will keep saying that to you so that you do it.
1503  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Ivan Toney's Case and You on: May 28, 2023, 05:34:32 PM
Well, a person who is too indulged in gambling will obviously spend most of their time gambling and if you live with them or around them, you will see them gambling all the time and that obviously indicates that they are addicted to gambling. Anyone doing something excessively is basically an addict of that thing be it gambling or anything else.

To help someone overcome their addiction and become mentally and physically free from this curse, one should try to get them into some other activity that will divert their mindset and thinking and won't let them think all the time about gambling.
1504  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't gamble if you don't have patience on: May 27, 2023, 08:35:53 PM
I don't know of this has happened to anyone while reading this thread or not.
But rather than saying to anyone not to gamble of they do not have patience, it would be more important in my opinion to keep in mind and advice people not to gamble if they do not have money, spare money. I mean.

Think about it, someone with enough spare money to gamble as a hobby still have a chance to enjoy it and perhaps even pocket some money in a lucky day. Even if that person does not have enough patience.

On the other hand someone with only a couple of bucks to gamble for a whole week, I doubt that person would ever have the chance to enjoy a session and if becomes dependant on gambling, unfortunately it could be matter of time before they try to get money in any way possible.  Tongue
The actual sentence should be, don't gamble if you have a limited amount of money that you don't want to lose and no patience because someone with a lot of money would probably not care even if they lose a lot of money but someone who only has a limited bankroll and can't lose it all will surely be affected if it is lost and we all know it can happen because it's gambling.

So if you are the second person, who has maybe a $100 that he can't even afford to lose and also doesn't have patience, gambling is not for you and you better do something good for yourself with that money instead of losing it on gambling.
1505  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: May 27, 2023, 07:42:55 PM
How can you think that predicting without money can be called gambling? I do not agree.
Gambling is actually not necessarily about money. everything that can be at stake in several choices we can call it a gamble.
as an easy example, my friends and I are betting between students or teachers who will erase the writing on the blackboard first when a new lesson starts. and the loser would polish the winner's shoes for one week.

I don't know what other people think, but in my opinion, it's a small thing that can be bet in any form. I would call it gambling. I made a bet with my prediction.
I totally agree with that, it isn't necessary for it to be called gambling if only money is involved. If anything that is of value to you is put at stake, it could be money, a belonging, your dignity, your time, or anything you can think of, it will still be considered gambling because you are gambling that thing with your prediction that might be wrong and you lose that thing if that happens.

In your case, you guys used to bet your time since the one who lost used to polish the shoes of the other which would be investing your time into it. Similarly, if there is anything at stake, you will have to give that thing away if you lose the bet.

✔️ Sessions will be conducted in English via Zoom or Google Meet (video must be turned on).
✔️ Participation in this session is voluntary and anonymous; no personal information will be captured during the session.
✔️ You will be compensated for your time with a $10USDC in Polygon.

✔️ How can you ensure that the conversation will not be recorded and that the data of the participants will remain protected?
✔️ Anonymity via video call?? Who can believe in this?
✔️ Do you think anyone would accept this offer for only $10? If you find people who do not care about their privacy and are willing to spend half an hour with their faces exposed to get a few dollars, make sure that they are people without experience and will not help you in anything.
I was also curious about the anonymity part and the video thing, I think they might actually record the video since they are conducting a research study and will probably need all the answers they have got from the interviews conducted, so basically, there is no anonymity in it apart from that your video or anything will only stay with them if they are honest.

About the payment part, they should probably increase that and have a limit available for interviews, like conducting interviews with just 10 people paying $20 each, etc. That would probably look better and might attract better users for the interviews.
1507  Economy / Gambling / Re: Using ToS against users normal? on: May 27, 2023, 11:26:55 AM
No, it's not normal. Though most of the platforms or websites mentioned in their terms and conditions that they have all the rights to make any changes, add or remove or modify any rule from their terms and conditions without having to inform anyone. Usually, when there is a change in the privacy policy or terms and conditions, they send an email to notify their users along with the new and updated ToS or Privacy policies.

It's obviously unethical if they change something from it that directly or indirectly affects their users or gamblers, in that case, they are supposed to let their gamblers know right after the change is made so that they can change their practices and keep the change in their minds all the time.
1508  Economy / Speculation / Re: Correction from $30K: Reason to worry? on: May 26, 2023, 09:35:31 PM
When the price rises too high, many people will sell because they feel they have made a big profit, the current price is around $ 26k and March is the highest price record because the price reaches over $ 30k, and when the price is low like this, the best thing is to buy more, don't miss this limited and short opportunity.
Those who have bought very low or those who are afraid to keep holding longer will probably sell if they think the price is good enough for them and they will get enough profit from their assets if they sell, but those that have their eyes on the bull run and a new all-time high and have diamond hands will always keep holding even if the price drops again after going significantly high.

And when there are dips, the thing is, not everyone can always buy more because they don't have liquid currencies that they can use to buy more Bitcoins or other cryptocurrencies, that is the reason why most part of the general public doesn't like dips.
1509  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 26, 2023, 09:16:00 PM
It's hard to say whose problem it is, Chelsea's or the coach's... Lampard's return looks very bad, defeat after defeat and only one win. It's hard for me to say if it's the players in particular, it's probably the tactics of the coach who can't get the players on the pitch to play more confidently
Chelsea's problem is very complex, they are bad in every way. This may indeed be due to the coach being unable to provide a strategy that suits the players, and also the Chelsea players who seem to be less motivated and unable to apply the tactics provided optimally, or indeed their players are simply not competent. support so that Chelsea is currently in a bad point like this.
Even this crushing defeat against Man United actually closed Chelsea's career at the end of the season. They can't even qualify for the European League.
Too many factors as Chelsea is having worst end of this season and now matter is not about UEFA qualification they are ending this season with 11th or 12th spot which is worst for them in years and this all happen just because of change of ownership after this we have three coaches change and things gone on wrong way which create problems even they have top quality players, but sadly they were doing things without any strategy, so they have to face consequences.

In next season can they improve, or we have to face troubles again it's never been clear because now English Premier League is not easy for the top teams with Arsenal and Newcastle United and Manchester United are strengthening their squads power for competing teams like Manchester City and Liverpool so if they want to do better than surely they need to work on better strategy.
1510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: May 26, 2023, 08:28:20 PM
A few days ago, the Roma team was quite weak. They could not win any title. The team's performance was very erratic. However, after Mourinho took over, Roma's overall condition began to improve. And now this group is quite strong. Roma won the Conference Cup last season. And since the beginning of this season, their goal was the Europa League title and the team managed to qualify for the finals. The team is fully capable of beating Sevilla in the final. If Roma are lucky, they will win the Europa League title.
That's right, I still remember how inconsistent Roma were then and now they are improving towards the end of the season. Maybe they can't win anything for the competition in Italy, but in the European league they have one title left that they might get if they beat Sevilla. Maybe this is quite complicated for Roma, but at the same time they want to close this season with at least 1 European league title before starting to focus again on the competition in the coming season. Mourinho will risk everything for the European league and this can be an additional trophy collection for the Italian capital team.
Even most of the peoples are having not positive view about Mourinho but still we are watching under him how AS Roma is improving and now having chance to win second title into UEFA which is surely impressive with most chances things are not easy for both teams because due to poor form in domestic season both are under pressure but still both have potential to win this title here most now feeling AS Roma is favorite due to having experienced coach but still as Sevilla done in previous matches specially against Manchester United and Juventus it's never been easy for them to win here.

Sevilla is also improved amazingly and now having good chance for the next season's Champions League spot in case of win, so they will also try their best because due to poor form in domestic things are not ideal for them to have any UEFA spot for the next season.
1511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eredivisie 22/23 - discussion thread on: May 25, 2023, 09:52:52 PM
PSV manager Van Nistelrooy just resigned before last round, interesting how it's going to affect team. These news is big surprise for me, but he said that he didn't got support from club board. 2nd place in league and win in Cup probably can't be called as bad season. AZ - PSV should be very interesting. While I wouldn't keep big expectations on Twente. They have secured 5th place, so this game before playoffs doesn't matters much for them, while for Ajax it's still important game.
Who knows what the problems really were, but for him this was usually a good start into his career as a coach. I think being the coach of PSV gives you access to a squad and a league where you can learn a lot. If he didn't have support from the board, that is another issue. But now I wonder what his next stop will be as a coach. But since he had a great career as a player as well it shouldn't be too hard for him to find something appropriate.
He resigned before last round match even his team is at second spot and have good chance for staying here with Ajax is going to visit Twente and have chance to win but PSV which is going to visit Alkmaar for their last game against AZ Alkmaar is also going to have chance for the better result but PSV board is not happy, so they announce this all and end first year as coach on high note.

From here if PSV lost then surely we can blame board for this because they need to do things like these after end of season right now before last match surely this is disturbing for all team, but things could be good in new season because now both top teams are having overhaul in squads with new coaches hopefully they will fight back for the top ranks or Feyenoord will not allow them for having any chance again with their performance and quality.
1512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mr Beast’s house robbed of everything except for bitcoin on: May 25, 2023, 08:38:50 PM
I've seen the video before and I believe those robbers or thieves were probably Bitcoin illiterates since we all know that not a lot of people in the US at that time knew much about Bitcoin and how it works and how to use it. And those thieves were probably totally illiterate drug takers as well and all they needed was something that they could sell for some money.

And even if the guy wasn't what I'm saying, he probably was in a rush and didn't notice the paper that had the private keys written on it, otherwise, someone would probably not let something like that get out of their hands.
1513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I am only trying to stay safe by gambling less on: May 25, 2023, 06:08:03 PM
Those people could never learn from that misconception, instead would still gamble and try to make money. They really don't realize what they are doing is wrong and need to fix it before becoming a full-blown gambling addiction.

And for those who don't agree with us, we can never make them see the difference because they will stick with it without wanting to change it or accept it. And we can only let them be like that and see the reality that will happen later.
Realization is a very rare thing and only a few people got it in them, and gamblers, they mostly lack this ability to realize what they are getting themselves into until they are totally sunk into the addiction and have almost spent everything they may have had back in the day, realizing things that late doesn't really work or has no essence at all.

There is basically nothing you can do to make someone realize their mistakes unless they have it in their heart as well, otherwise, no matter how hard you try, you will only be wasting your time and theirs as well.
1514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Betswirl: A Web3 Gambling Platform on: May 25, 2023, 03:30:51 PM
Have you played at this casino yourself? I am asking because if this is a new casino i would be hesitant to connect my wallet to that site as there are a lot of scams where your coins are lost if you connect your wallet with scam sites.
This is a no-go zone. I do like the web design and even plan on testing the site but when I saw that I had to connect my wallet to the site before I can start using it I had to pause.

But if I'm ever to use the site I'd have to create a new wallet and fund it with a little amount to check if the site is a scam or not (although just a single test won't prove the genuinity of the site), the wallet creation is just a precaution.
Usually a scam site won't make an effort to make a good web design because they will just throw away this site later on but I am not saying that this site here or those who have a good web design are now legit. Scams can still happen on them sometimes. The idea is for the people to get attracted. The tagline of the casino says "Web3".

I think it's normal that a web3 site will ask for their user to connect their wallet first before they can gain access to it. If we still have doubts we can follow the advice that you gave there. If the casino seems fine. We shouldn't be confident easily but continue playing using small amounts on a dummy wallet. A couple of months or even a year, must be enough to have a full conclusion if the casino is safe or not.
1515  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What kind of rewards/bonuses do you prefer? on: May 25, 2023, 11:42:20 AM
You already Have a good bonuses and was wondering why you are asking for another sets?
Two heads are better than one. Community discussion will lead to more advices which can help a gambling site. I like this kind of discussion, it can help.

To encourage more people into your gambling site, welcome bonus of 100% deposit is good. There are many gambling sites that are offering that.
Competition is laudable in every business sector as a way to offer customers a better service but while competing it shouldn't be done above your shoulders. What I mean by this is that not because other gambling sites are giving a 100% bonuses on every deposit then another gambling site should follow suit knowing fully well that their financial power is way below that of the other.  If a gambling site wants to give out deposit bonus then it should be a percentage they can meet up at all cost to avoid the challenges that could risk their reputation cause they couldn't meet up what they had earlier promised that drew people's attention in the first place.
Things don't work that way in businesses, plans are made beforehand based on the budget available, they don't make the plans first and then see if the budget can be enough for it or not. Running a casino or any business is no joke, but with proper management and planning of things needed to be done, it can be run pretty well.

You are right that they should plan their bonuses based on their budget and not by trying to be on top of their competitors since that can obviously make their budget and plans both go in vein and no proper outcome will be seen.
1516  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 24, 2023, 08:58:31 PM
I believe that Heat will win the fifth game, they are much more likely. That will give both teams a bit to relax and that will be fine. I am not entirely sure how easy or hard that game will be but I know that Heat has a huge advantage and that gives "hopeless" feelings to Celtics. Not that they can't win, look at how they won this one, so it is obvious that they are capable of winning, but I feel like they are not going to get that again, Heat played unlike they used to so far, and they were looking like they underestimated Celtics, they won't do that mistake again.

We just need to look forward, I will double my bet each time Celtics wins and will bet on Heat and eventually win that for sure, that's easy betting right there. I just don't know about the finals though.
1517  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✅ NowDice.com 🎲 Low House Edge 🎲 NO KYC! 💰 Jackpot 💰 on: May 24, 2023, 08:18:03 PM
The members of this forum do not let any single detail pass them, people realized very soon that there was something wrong with the chat and immediately brought the attention of the community to this, now I could understand that a casino may want to bring the impression they are more popular than what they are, as this could increase the amount of gamblers they can attract, however there is a fine line there in which their efforts could be interpreted as deceiving advertising and I think they have crossed that line already.
The line has obviously been crossed since the users have been writing posts about what's happening and how they are seeing the platform and the things that are happening but the representative on this forum isn't even responding to any of the messages and posts of the users, they are either planning an excuse or have decided to just pull out of the forum.

Either way, the reality will be out pretty soon. If they show up on this thread, they surely owe an explanation for whatever shady stuff is seen on their website and social channels, and if they don't, it's crystal clear what their intentions are.
1518  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🥇BEST CASINO IN 2023 - Community decide🥇 on: May 24, 2023, 07:43:02 PM
I never imagined that this forum already has many reputable and well-known casinos. That is a list of casinos that might be our choice in gambling, but we have to select them to find the best for us. I chose Stake because I can choose as many gambling games as I want there. And every time I gamble, I change games, especially slot games. But there are some other casinos that I occasionally go to and gamble too, and it's great if we have a list of other casinos to gamble at so we don't choose the wrong casino.
Mate, I have no doubt you would go for stake as I already see you on the signature and avatar.  Although your casino seems good and have stand the test of time, having billions already realized from wagers but do you really think mere sayings to be rooting for stake would be fine. Come to talk of it, OP did not clearly state the guidelines for the award and this shows a lack of communication and poor information dissemination
OP could not Atleast coordinate this board properly but quickly to jump in when ever their is any reply likely to support OP motion.

It is not all about gathering names for nomination OP. What are the guidelines for awardee nomination and awards recipient? OP should say something about it?
It's not that she is bias or what but Stake is truly a quality casino and I believe many users here or outside can agree with it. No wonder why it always seen on the top on most casino review sites. OP might be choppy in here but we can try to visit his website. Let see if we can find more information there about the contest. Like on any awarding events, nominees are usually performing great from the rest.

In terms of a crypto casino, it could be they have a wide range of games and supported cryptos. They have a generous rewards, responsive support, and the list goes on. There are other great casinos mentioned apart from stake so it's going to be a tough game.
1519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: May 23, 2023, 08:45:18 PM
That is understandable. There are certain associate teams that are happy, with whatever they are getting from the ICC. I am referring about teams such as Czech Republic and Romania, which are entirely consisted of Indian and Pakistani medical students who are temporarily residing in these countries. As per ICC's revenue distribution formula, these teams get the same share of funds as genuine teams such as Argentina or Israel. So they are happy, because they get all the money for themselves and don't need to spend any money for development or any other activity since no one else plays cricket in these countries.
If that is the case and I know that ICC knows that is the case, they should be getting a lot less money compared to what the genuine teams are getting. But I do not believe that the ICC are actually going to do something about it. It's not that they don't know any better. It's just because they simply do not care. The world of the ICC revolves around the top 4 teams. Outside of the top 4, I don't think ICC actually gives a damn about anything. Otherwise, they certainly would have given the teams which are actually made out of native players at least double the money that they are giving to the deals which are made out of foreign players.

Is it just me or anyone else think that the money distribution from ICC doesn't make sense at all?
ICC can implement many rules and other things for checking merit, quality and other relative things, but sadly they are not interested with this all if they will do anything then surely they will face consequences as well which will be not good for them so just because of this all is well going here right now and mostly teams with native countries are suffering badly which is surely going to hurt this game as well but who cares.

Right now, most beneficiary from these rules are Gulf region countries and few boards in ICC not want to hurt them which is surely helping countries like Romania, Czech Republics and Denmark which having players from Pakistan and India which are staying there just on visit visa.

But, I was minimum from ICC they try to fix a rule with every team must have 4 or 6 native players, surely this will also help this game but most chances they will also not go with this as well.

I am sorry but it is not going to be something that I could actually consider as an alright situation, I obviously would love to have kids learning but we are not going to really be able to teach children who do not want to learn neither. Have you ever seen kids that are 12 years old or younger? It is practically impossible to teach them anything substantial, no need to, you could teach them life skills, things that will make them understand how life works, the simple things, and all the "thanks" when they need to say, so being polite, all that.

But, when we are talking about teaching them knowledge? How many of you remember how many things you learned before you were 12? Not many right? You went to school hours and hours a day, and what have we learned? Most of them we learned afterwards, aside from simple stuff obviously.
