1  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲 BITDICE -2019 mBTC Christmas and New Year Celebrations [2+ BTC in Prizes] 🎲 on: January 22, 2019, 06:37:36 PM
But oh wow, 6 BTC in 1 dice throw. Even with super low prices that's 21k USD. The equivalent of 100 months salary min wage in my country! Tell me a normal casino that let's you win that amount in 1 second, lets you prove it's a fair bet, and doesn't give you problems withdrawing! WTG Bitdice!

I remember that crazy guy that made several 10 BTC bets. And at that time BTC was close to ATH. Crazy play that could be actually best possible strategy.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: gold-baked crypto coin on: January 22, 2019, 03:31:38 PM
hey everyone!
quite an old story about crypto coin guaranteed by something real for ex. gold. good old physical gold.
just wondering your thoughts about what kind of blockchain or existed coin is able to suit this?
coins suppose to be pre-mined i think

Problem of gold or other commodity backed crypto tokens is in the fact that no one guarantee you there is any gold collected and even less guaranteed that anyone will give you any gold for your token.  They are realy dumb idea since you can simply buy and hold gold. And have zero risk that someone will scam you.

5  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The First Seastead is in the water on: January 21, 2019, 06:25:50 PM
What are the advantages of a seastead platform over a boat? Is it registration laws?

As what I read, and I might be wrong, is because ship is getting moved with ocean currents. So you would need fuel to keep it on same position. This seastead is chained to sea bottom and stays put unless you want to move elsewhere.

Also as I imagine boat bounce way more then this seastead since only spar is in the water. Again I might have no ideas what I am talking about. Tongue
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin or Beam? What is the good entry price? on: January 21, 2019, 04:13:59 PM
Grin or Beam? What is the good entry price?

Beam is company owned coin so have no real value. Grin entry point sis close to 1000 satoshi. It will take 2-4 years to reach bottom.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2019 will be better then 2017 :) ? on: January 21, 2019, 03:38:24 PM
2019 will be better then 2017?

But 2019 will be better then 2015. Bitcoin went from $316 to $430 that year so its value increased +36%.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will blockchain technology make humans redundant? on: January 20, 2019, 08:59:55 PM
Will blockchain technology make humans redundant?

Nope. But Monero and Bitcoin will make fiat currencies redundant.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your plans for this year on: January 20, 2019, 08:08:28 PM
Everyone keeps saying 2019 will be profitable for the crypto community... but in life I've had to learn things the hard way.. which makes me always want to look into things in 2 ways no matter the odds

What are your plans for this year?

2019 is year of great accumulation. Now is time to buy crypto that will change your life and bring financial freedom. Whatever you planed to do this year, keep in mind to not blew this once in a lifetime chance you have. If you are here now reading this you should know you are supper lucky. This is your year. Work 3 jobs and eat only water and bread and buy Monero and Bitcoin with all you can afford.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should We Trust Blockchain ? on: January 20, 2019, 06:13:03 PM
According To expect they always say blockchain can never  be hacked and your information can never be stolen .. But day in day out Hacker are hacking  crypto exchanges to steal people asset , ETH Suspended hard Fork because  of security  reason . HitBTC and Cryptopia are understand maintenance  because of hacker .  Are   they Using block-chain technology  to  deceive Us ?...

Not sure why you mix centralized exchanges into block chain. But any block chain can have a bug. It all goes to how many eyes there is to check the code and how many people test on testnet before it goes live.  You can notice difference between Monero and Bitcoin towards Etehreum. First two are making baby steps not risking bugs. Ethereum just jump no matter what will happen. They can rewind their immutable code anyway.

Oil could lose $9 of it's value. In a week.

Week has passed and Oil prices gained $2. You still had not reveal what was the reason behind your wrong prediction.
12  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Seasteading on: January 20, 2019, 04:29:32 PM
My own plan, which is a slight deviation from their plan, is to start small and modularly (not likely a real word). I would also like to start in a protected waterway initially. But I recognize that most people cannot afford such a high price, and their system does not leave much room for picking up your home and floating to a new seastead if you want to. My goal is to follow the tiny house trend initially and build a small modular floating structure that I can keep under $20k for the base price (plus cost of solar panels, water maker, composting toilet, etc.). Basically enough living space as a small boat, but unlike a boat you can attach these units together for more and more living space as can be afforded.

Ocean Builders seasteads are built on top of a spar which allows you to live above the waves.

As for price...we are targeting $150-$200k. First 20 will get the seastead at cost, and help to decide the way forward for future seasteading.

What the inflation did in less then 2 years Tongue

Joke aside, why are this 2 prices so different? Because you miscalculated back then since you did not understand all the problems or because back then house and everything was planed to be smaller or something like that?
13  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The First Seastead is in the water on: January 20, 2019, 03:53:40 PM

Love your idea and specially I love that you actually work on it. So many ended just as an ideas. I found the forum and will monitor progress. It is a bit to much for me right now to gasp everything.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Grin | PoW Mining | Electronic transactions for all. Community driven. on: January 20, 2019, 02:06:21 PM
I was very interested in Grin. Just yesterday theymos announced to accept Grin as a means of payment. Before that, only Bitcoin could enjoy this honor. Even Ethereum, Monro, etc. did not have such treatment.
So as a response to the BTT Forum, will Grin plan to have a BTT Forum Bounty Campaign?

Bounty campaign? Why don't you grab a couple of GPU's and mine it? The mainnet went online 3 days ago. You didn't miss anything. Also the inflation rate will be so big for the first year, you'll be able to buy cheap coins as much as you want during that period.

buying high inflation currency - like GRIN in the first year - is like burning your money

Agree. Bottom might be found in 4 years time if all goes as developers are planing. There is always risk that that could fail since all cryptocurencies are just an experiment.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think the US government shutdown is affecting crypto markets? on: January 19, 2019, 08:58:44 PM
With over 800,000 government workers not being paid surely this would be having an impact on crypto markets.  Lets just say 5% of those workers invest money into the altcoins, that is a significant amount of money not flowing into the altcoin markets.  Care to discuss

I dont think so, but I heard it affected pornhub markets drastically.
16  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chinese New Year 2019 on: January 19, 2019, 03:25:42 PM
So historically bitcoin price tanks around Chinese New Year,

um, what chart are you looking at because i don't see it!!!

as far as i can remember each year people make the same statement and guess what, price has never fallen during that time despite what you guys claim every single year.

take 2017 for example. i remember clearly there was  a big campaign talking about how there will be a big dump and price will crash to $600 (price was $900 at the time). then at the start of February price started going up and continued rising all through the Chinese New Year and reached $1100 (20% rise).
same with 2016: price went from $364 up to $452 during first weeks of February (24% rise)

the funniest part is that even in 2018 (which was right in the middle of the big bubble burst) the price went up from $5900 to $8900 (50% rise) LOL

So 3 years in a row price was skyrocketing during Chinese new year.  That definitely predict that now will tank huge.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TGE] OriginTrail (TRAC) - First Purpose-Built Protocol for Supply Chains on: January 19, 2019, 02:46:44 PM
Win a prize (Exodus 1 - the first blockchain phone) by voting for the projects in the OriginTrail Open Call!
Register to vote by Monday, January 21st: (MetaMask needed)

More info in the blog post:

I was thinking the other day. To bad you did not make more rounds. Right now there are 34 projects. 34 is number that discourage people to check all projects and that way miss the good ones.  If there would bve secodn round where would come top6-10 projects then case would be different. That there would also be more chances to pick the right winner.
Just something to think about if you plan to organize something like this in future again.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Spells of Genesis - Innovating the Game Economy with BitCrystals (BCY) on: January 19, 2019, 02:03:57 PM
So what's the current exchange status. Been looking around but it seem's were homeless.

I believe beside trading on counterparty DEX there is only one exchnage trading BCY. Zaif. But since is Japanese i never traded there. Not sure how hard that is for westerns. But for sure Zaif is one of oldest exchanges, so I should not worry about legitimacy.
19  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen to Bitcoin if there is a global economic crash? on: January 19, 2019, 01:33:44 PM
Investors will going to abandon bitcoin because bitcoin has no really use in terms except that some establishment are accepting bitcoin as a means of payment. The problem is that there were only few and it could be counted through our fingers in every city or province or even in a country.

Man if you dont see a use case for Bitcoin and you spend months here, then I am not sure if anyone can help you.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Grin | PoW Mining | Electronic transactions for all. Community driven. on: January 19, 2019, 01:10:41 PM
Conclusion:  Grin is currently highly overvalued at $6.5

Question is not if price of Grin is over evaluated right now, but at what price and at what time will Grin found bottom.  I believe most pessimistic date could be even 4 years form now and deep in 4 digits of satoshies.
