http://bitcoinist.net/press-release-btc-com/"Due to extenuating circumstances Bitcoinist LTD. will no longer be operating BTC.com. Bitcoinist LTD and GAW Miners LLC had a long term license contract for the domain BTC.com – on a revenue sharing model basis. There was to be no content control or input for GAW Miners LLC."
"As it follows, GAW Miners LLC has been violating our contract by not paying the original lease of the domain that has lead to the loss of the domain."In what I'm sure is a surprise to no one, it appears Homero has taken payments for the btc.com lease, and run. Where is your gawd now, shills ?

If BTC went 4x any miner produced in the past 2-3 years would be turned back on again, I would imagine the hash rate easy doubling.
Here's hoping you're right. I don't see it happening within the next 12 months, and would have a hard time rationalizing powering up my old BM1380 or Bitfury gear even if it did.

Have Bitmain any plans on lowering S5 (and maybe shipping?) price? Shipping is ~cost, its unlikely to change any time soon unless UPS / DHL lower their prices. ... or, Godforbid, Bitmain lowers their prices.

Have Bitmain any plans on lowering S5 (and maybe shipping?) price? I'm not really surprised they've held firm at the $340 price for so long - They are the only game in town at present, and can charge whatever they want for their products. I not a fan of such arrogant behaviour. As a result, for the last few months, I've been taking advantage of the low BTC/USD pricing, and every time I think about buying another miner, I just buy 1BTC instead on Coinbase and think to myself "Now wasn't that easier and more cost-effective ?" Given the current price of ~$235 USD/BTC, it doesn't make any financial sense purchasing miners at their current pricing. An S5 priced at $340 is presently looking @ ~1year of runtime for ROI, excluding electrical and power supply costs. It doesn't make any sense at all to buy Bitmain products, presently - A ROI will be difficult and uncertain.

I can confirm this as my sources say the same thing. Everyone was sent home and the only people still working there will be without pay from what I was told. They're still trying to salvage the Capital One deal, but I personally doubt that will happen.
Are you be able to speculate as to who is staying on unpaid, while Capital One mulls over making a huge mistake acquiring this toxic asset ?

When I have a final manufacturable design that's independently proven to work as advertised, and when I have secured a chip source. Not before both of those conditions are met.
Very cool, dude. Grats on getting your 2 chip design working ! Looking forward to your 'big' miner, and hoping Bitmain will be reasonable with chip pricing for you.

Apparently, the Garza and Paycoin shills are worried about "Us the community". This thread has been created in direct response to naturelle's self moderated thread, where they attempt to create a distractionary narrative, drawing attention away from the fraud that was principally perpetrated by Homero Joshua Garza via his Paycoin scheme. While I loathe self-moderated threads, I recognize their utility when used as a means of "fighting fire with fire". suchmoon has a pretty epic thread outlining this sordid story, that looks like it might become another legendary cautionary tale in the vein of Butterfly Labs or PirateAt40's ponzi scheme. I've been a member of these forums for a long time, and don't take kindly to scammers fucking this community over, after having been fucked over by Butterfly Labs myself. When I see blatant fraudulent shit like this, and shills defending their scheme - in the face of a massive email dump detailing the fraud ( Google "paycoin leaked email torrent download" ) - well... I'm not going to stand for it. Legal ActionsMississippi Power Company v. I wonder if Homero thought this 'strategy' through like he did with the $20 floor... </tinfoilhat> What does that have to do with Paycoin being a complete fraud ? Josh is bored on a Sunday morning in Dubai. Maybe he should convert to Muslim and go pray at the space rock in Mecca. Joke's on him then. While they don't have an extradition treaty with the USA, they are big on capital punishment, and once Dubai catches up with how much of a criminal he is... well... he might want to start looking for another host country if he values his life, is what I'm trying to say.

How about some news on the S2 Upgrade kits ? Has that plan been abandoned ?
It has been quite some time since news has been posted about that development. Still have an S2 kicking around, collecting dust, because an upgrade path was (still is ?) in-the-works.

The forum doesn't need any more money so there's no reason to create new ranks and solicit donations.
How long can a burn rate of $100k a month be sustained for the development of the new forums ? Would estimate at least $1.2 million has been spent on development so far ?

I wonder how the FTC will make use of them in the case.
Hopefully by driving to court on the day of the trial in a steamroller.

Those new forums at talk.btc.com have issues.
"We have a daily limit on how many times that action can be taken. Please wait 1 hour before trying again."
I can only reply to posts once an hour ? M'kay...
