961  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 2013-07-29 Bitcoin Illegal in Thailand on: July 29, 2013, 10:54:02 AM
Internet Porns illegal in Thailand, Whoreing's illegal in Thailand, smoking while driving, Conterfeit goods are illegal. The police aren't very on top here I don't think its anything to worry about. I was caught over the limit with no tax or insurance on my motorbike recently and got a 200 baht (6usd) fine!!

Shit do you know if you can still make a transfer to your tba off an exchange?

pleeeease kraken, coinsetter, coinlab, et. al., fill the void before gox goes down!!

in related news, why did mtgox never follow through on their deal with coinlab?

There's a widespread rumor that they wanted to but Kapeles had to hand over the USD banking pages from his Filofax and unfortunately due to an incident regarding a coffee spill the pages became illegible hence the reason for reneging on the agreement and the recent delays on USD withdrawals.

965  Economy / Speculation / Re: I know what some of you are thinking. on: July 29, 2013, 05:07:03 AM
i don't even know why we're having this discussion, seeing as bitcoin isn't parallel to litecoin, the reason being that supply of these coins will not be what determines the price ratio.

The worth of a coin depends on what you can do with it. Bitcoin is worth $98.9 (or $92) because of the economy underlying bitcoin. The litecoin economy is less comparable. How i see it is that people will likely fork towards the best economy because it makes sense. Why would you choose a smaller economy over a larger one? and as such, bitcoin wlll grow and grow, at a rate much faster than ltc.

+1

Thanks for the link how did you work out that equation?

Really, just go back through the thread. There are some other good links to look at.

The bottom line is, that as long as the system holds up under a Price Elasticity of Supply regime we can expect an exponential price increase with each halving of the amount of new Bitcoin for a given unit of time. Demand will continue to be erratic and so we will continue to see tremendous volatility. This is exactly what one would expect to see for a supply-inelastic asset class.

Yes Really, you've written an equation describing the relationship between Litecoin and Bitcoin and can't show how you derived it. Makes you look un-credible and I'm calling shenanigans on you!!

I think bitcoin will drop to around the 50 dollar mark on the gox announcement

FUD

Dear Valued comment maker,

Thank you for contacting me regarding your information request.

I've provided some links but due to a change in my artwork department I'm currently experiencing a back-log whilst trying to draw people a fucking picture to spell out the obvious.

I'm working hard to increase the speeds of my artwork, but there is approximately a two-week back-log I need to overcome which has now been going on for four months.

It will take a few weeks to get back to normal, and I thank you for your patience during this time.

Again, I apologize for the delay and will contact you once I've drawn you a fucking picture.

Please don't try and chase up this email when you start to realize you're never going to get the fucking picture, as I will copy and paste this same email by way of reply.

Best regards,

Just to clarify can you confirm if e is the speed of light or not in your formula?
970  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gap Observer mtgox / bitstamp / btc-e / campbx on: July 28, 2013, 02:46:55 PM
The gap makes sense;

The Gox price is artificially high because they cannot process withdrawals in a timely manner (up to 3 months in many cases).

As many people need funds that are in their account or are afraid the cumulative effect of slow withdrawals and many other problems Gox have had recently could spell the end for Gox, they are forced to transfer their Fiat into Bitcoin creating + rise in value on the exchange. The opposite effect (- effect) happens on all other exchange as the coins flow into them for sale.

There's no money to be made from arbitrage the prices aren't random on each exchange it's just a reflection of the above. If you monitor the difference in price between say btc-e and bitstamp there's a pretty consistent $1 diff or 1/88= 1%.

The 1% difference on these exchanges possibly reflects the higher cost (1%) of depositing money onto Btc-e

Gox customer service is worryingly don't give a fuckish with a bit of sarcastic "Dear valued customer" thrown in for spitish reasons (possibly staff know they're soon to be unemployed and don't like taking shit from pricks like me!!). I really wouldn't risk your money trying to Arb from exchanges to Gox you stand to make 5-10% as a one off if they don't go out of business and they get their problems sorted. I'd say there's a 25% if you're going to leave money there over the next 3 months you could lose it all.

972  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 09, 2013, 03:11:35 PM
Are you guys clocking whats happening to the order book. Multiple, and i mean multiple 0.0100 are being repeatedly entered onto the book at every possible price. Watch the orders close at the current price, increasing and decreasing by 0.0100 every second.

It's Bot spasms
973  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 09, 2013, 11:41:08 AM
In other news we're still in the 109.9999 area.
Weekend is on and Bulls and Bears are already wasted.

But , there is still hope , remember what happend last Sunday morning?  Grin

yaaawn ... so it actually happend..
It's gonna be interesting if we hit the real price trendline (13-30 area ?)

Where in the world did you come up with this price?  I've always said 50-60 but 13-30??   Shocked

cut march/april out of the price graph , and see the trend for the last 2 years
Also when there is a panic drop, we will hit for a few the minimum of minimum , the dip , thats why the 13 Smiley

A lot of other people are thinking the same by the looks of the bids - just look how many bids are on the order book between $10 and $14

A lot of people are wishing the same I don't believe they're thinking
974  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 09, 2013, 11:32:33 AM
The only reason it's dropped is because someones having a massive sell off, news is good, Chinese are buying and every big sell off makes the market more dispersed.
975  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 03, 2013, 02:17:09 PM

the way I see it is it's just a bunch of pussies who couldn't handle the psychological impact of a big sell... perhaps the big sell was in part timed to impact on said pussies.

that doesn't mean it's not going down, but what exactly is the reasoning behind it? Just because the indicators say x doesn't mean you should act out x.

I agree but dicks need pussies to fuck so is it really a bad thing???

of course this is not such a bad thing. Without the yin, the yang is meaniningless...  without some down, what would up mean?

so yeah, up down action between dicks and pussies...

Well I suppose without ups or downs you might hit some kind of horizontal Plateau I suppose!
976  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 03, 2013, 02:08:30 PM
Be grateful guys, I sold a bunch of coins like half an hour ago (crashing the EURO market 1,5% BTW, what a joke is this tiny market), and obviously as soon as I took my dump the price immediately rebounded

LOL Cheesy

I just took a dump as well... outside my butchers in a dirty protest to the recent Turkish clash with police.
977  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: June 03, 2013, 01:56:38 PM
I don't know guys...yesterday I said it would pull back some and it did.  This just looks like a tremendous amount of downward pressure.  I mean look at this trend.  Clarkmoody looks like it got bear clawed.   Grin

Clark Moody's a miserable fucker, stay positive mate

Disclosure: I've just done my brains buying back in!!!

Well for what it's worth, I just read some of the other "panic" posts and I don't see a sell off into double digits.  We may however smash through 110 and possibly even touch 105.  If any of this proves true, that would be the bottom.

I think so too no need to hit panic stations I think it's somewhere between 105-123 in the next 48 hours, with a following upward trend after that.
