i'm using omniwallet.net, is that the right place? Huh

God help some of you people!! If you click on the only working link on omniwallet.net Hackforums opens! this should give you a clue it's not the right place and that there is a very high probability the people who created the site would like to rob you.

Hi, I have opened an omniwallet account but how do I import the private key? There doesn't seem to be an option to do this on the interface - there are only three options - send payment, generate address, private key

go to the My addresses tab in omni wallet, click on import address/private key
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: May 09, 2014, 01:34:58 PM
where can participants in the btc crowdfunding access their msc?

Import the private key from the address you used to participate into omniwallet and you should see your Maidsafecoins.

Can/will blockscan.com be adapted to show assets at an address?

Bravo!  Enough of the whining and the scamming and let's get down to business!

Bravo what?  These guys have raised $6mil, so I think it's only fair they are subjected to tough questions.  In the real world, if you want to raise $6mil, you are going to be vetted thoroughly.  Instead, this guy is censoring his "forum" so all you will see if cheerleader comments like this.  Lame.

$3mil

I was hoping you'd create something like this pretty damn interesting stuff!

From the google groups forum;

May 5David Irvine
Ok I have had enough of the good work everyone is doing being hijacked by time wasters. I am going to become a little ruthless at banning people who come on this list and waste time. Its a waste of all of our time to read and worse answer some of these people.

I think we are aware this is constantly the same people and the last few are just as bad. We had a guy trying to tell us he set up counterparty maidsafecoins and wanted us to buy the name for 5BTC. There have been other such people recently and these are just a PITA.

I want the devs to get on with their work and this community to debate, design and discover the ways we can make SAFE a reality and get the testnets up and running.

In terms of the crowd sale we finished the 2nd and last part of the Master Protocol discussions and this is recorded here http://mastercointalk.org/index.php?topic=460.0 and publicly available. I hope we all learn from this, but it is what it is. There were errors, tech issues and more. A combination of difficulties did arise and were dealt with. In any case we cannot go over it many times per day and we have to live with it all. Typically open and honest approach, unfortunately it attracts the weak and their alternative world view of things. It is best to stick to facts.

In any case I will ban these people on sight and not waste any more of your time. I am sorry we have all had our focus taken off the ball with these people, I will try hard to make sure this is handled swiftly and efficiently. I may make mistakes and feel free to say if you think I do.

Cheers folks (don't feed the trolls)

I did create another google account and subsequently got banned for replying to David. In reply to Ben who just asked for the vote on whether my previous account should be banned (presumably for accusing David of overcharging someone $900 as backed up by a crazy thing called math)

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/maidsafe-development/6nMpc4qI7ow

Don't bother voting for a ban. David bans first and pretends it's a vote!

David I know you read this thread due to comments you've recently made on the google group page. I typed out a reply before realizing you've given me yet another ban, this time for stopping you from from scamming another member of the group out of over $900 by charging 125% market rate for coins! Anyway can't be fucked to go through the 60 second procedure to create another gmail account so I'll post reply here.

David Irwin: The more safecoin a farmer can farm the better for them. If less than 10% is purchased there is more to farm. I hope that makes it clear.

I don't want to have to explain everything to you about your own investment proposition but.. 456016401 Maidsafe were sold during the crowdsale which have to be converted into 429496729.6 Safe. Meaning you can burn up to the difference of 26,519,671 before you even potentially effect the number of resulting Safecoins.

Christopher wishes to purchase between 200-250k Maidsafe, A tiny proportion of the coins that were oversold. So no it doesn't mean more safecoin for farmers (even though this original statement was completely meaningless anyway).
411  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: May 05, 2014, 02:41:46 PM
There are a lot of interesting and promising discussions about maidsafe on google groups.

This thread is just populated by people whining about how they did not making a killing on the IPO.

When Facebook IPO and fell quickly to near $18,  did Facebook make the IPO investors whole?  No.

There are risks to investing on an IPO.   That's just the way it works.  Grow up and deal with it.

Also,  there are a ton of Bitcointalk users who's business model is to trashtalk a company with the hope of getting paid off to keep silent.  Kind of like a 'protection racket'.

I made over 4 Bitcoins off this IPO and I'm one of the most outspoken people because it's clearly a scam. Prior to the IPO I sent David Irvine an email asking him to stop the IPO against my personal interests because at the time I believed he was a legit guy being conned by Mastercoin.

Facebook sold stock in their company during their IPO. David Irvine has collected $3million he doesn't have to pay back in exchange for i.o.u tickets (he clearly doesn't understand) for a coin he's shown he's clearly not capable of making. The two things are not comparable.

The way he's raised funding shows that he has nothing but contempt for his stupid investors a sentiment I'm starting to share with him.

$3million has gone in (that's being taken out of the pot to buy his office and pay salaries). $10million now has to come out of a pot with nothing in it (buy side of maidsafe) for investors to break even. For all of pirates critics at least he re-circulated a bit of his "investors" money during his ponzi days.

I think all XCP's should be re-burnt and replaced with a shared ownership of some of kind of fee structure within the system (then dividends can be paid to shareholders). XCP's are a pretty pointless design element of the system (unless someone can explain otherwise) and there doesn't seem to be any element in the system to provide financial incentives in any way.

The main price driver and use case for XCP is binary and complex betting as XCP is the only currency that can be escrewed. When betting functionality goes live in Counterwallet and feed sites pop up, the price of XCP will increase.

Sounds interesting, looking forward to these functions. I thought all user created Assets could be escrowed?

I don't know if I can be fudged. Reading that google group is mind blowing to me it's just a whole other world of stupid I can't even begin to get my head around. One things for sure they haven't learnt a thing. I think like pirate and patrick harnett there's nothing I can do to put the breaks on this and I should stand aside and let it runs it course. Don't all cash out at once as none of the original $3m exists and what little does on fresh money coming in Mastercoiners have a claim to!

Edit: BTW would just like to add I love David Irvines (now a majority share holder of pointless Mastercoin) amazing idea in your google group post of charging 1.25 per Mastercoin relative to Bitcoin (or whatever currency) instead of inflating to 0.2 as worked so well last time, really really flipping smart bloke that David and a really flipping smart bunch of people working with him and following him. Sorry I realize I've been wrong and trolling all along after reading these guys put so much intellectual thought into a business discussion. Watch this space I think this amazing group of people could change the world.  Grin

420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: The Official Mastercoin Foundation, Master Protocol & Mastercoin Thread on: May 03, 2014, 07:27:40 PM
Of course I don't want to support a con and the time I spent with those people (email, forum, etc.) implied quite the contrary.

Just to be clear: the main issue you see is a potentially unfair distribution between BTC and MSC holders, right? Sorry to repeat everything, I've read all your other posts earlier, but want to address this isolated.

I've already started writing quite a lengthy reply, the problem is there's two parts to this were Maidsafe and Mastercoin both shoulder responsibility. I see massive issues that would be criminal in any regulated market (and may well be here) in the actions of both parties.

Most of your post implies we're talking about Mastercoins side of the blame but you bring up the issue of unfair distribution which is clearly an issue were Maidsafe is responsible to it's investors and doesn't really relate to any of the accusations I'm making towards Mastercoin.

I don't want to go round in circles with this I think the best way for me to clear up my thoughts on were blame lies with both sides,is to document my thoughts and create a scam accusation against Mastercoin and Maidsafe individually. I think it's an important enough issue to have one last solid crack at trying to articulate clearly but I'm sick of being in such a tiny vocal minority trying to scam bust this one so that will have to do from me!

I'll post a link here when I'm done!
