1121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About football betting on: April 24, 2023, 11:37:54 AM
but with football it is different, your bet is on the performance of a soccer team and the gambling platform will only win your money if your football team loses, right?

Yeah, but it's still depends in the odds, though if you bet on the winning team, but losses on the point spread - +, then your bet losses as well. If you just bet straight on the winning team, casinos don't usually put huge prizes on the favourite teams - so, it doesn't look like the casino losses anyway.
When you bet in the underdog, there will be a bigger prize but definitely a small chances of winning.
Obviously, the casino has still its edge even in sports betting. And most likely, whether we win or lose, the casino is still getting the win-win scenario. That’s probably how gambling casinos are designed, the house will always win while leaving the players at a losing end. So even in football where we get high chances of winning particularly if we bet on highly winning team, even if we win we won’t actually gain completely huge profits because the casino has already anticipated the result in every game.
1122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: April 24, 2023, 08:37:44 AM
Ryan is not ripe for this kind of fight,

He's ripe and we can see it to his record but Tank Davis is just so good for him. Davis exposed his weaknesses very well that's why he totally dominated him and got a huge victory on their fight.

losing by a technical knockout is not good for a superstar like him, he is good only for social media and still has a lot to learn in boxing.

One lose cannot break out his achievement also he's so young there's so many room for improvement so provably he will bounce back for this big defeat he encounter in the hands of Davis. That big lose is a huge wake up call for him that he need to improve more so that he can maintain his superstar status and also to defeat more big names in industry.

Despite of being a loser this time, I think Ryan Garcia should see it as more of a motivation that he should focus more on his craft by indulging himself into serious trainings that will improve his previous performance so that if ever he’ll be match again with other big names in the boxing industry, he will stay undefeated by that time. But I guess win or lose, the name Ryan Garcia still creates a huge impact in the boxing industry.
1123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: There are many advantages to the relationship between gambling and Bitcoin. on: April 24, 2023, 07:57:57 AM
I do not know if there are actually any of the advantages that you are talking about. Most of the casinos ask for KYC details...so that destroys all pseudo anonymity that Crypto currencies supported.

People could care less about decentralization....and most casinos are not decentralized, so I doubt if that has any advantages for the gamblers. The casinos that are decentralized are scarce and a lot of them are illegal, so I do not use them.  Undecided
That’s probably the problem for bitcoin as it can no longer act as a decentralized coin knowing most of the legit casinos these days have been centralized already. If you aim to play for decentralized casinos, you can go and play in grey areas where casinos are not that really bad but they are actually not accredited ones. So the chances of being scammed is quite high. Same with anonymity issue, it can still happen as long as you’ll play in KYC-free casinos.
1124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - June 17 on: April 24, 2023, 07:20:48 AM
I hope this fight will finally push through as I don't want people to be disappointed again after waiting for it for so long. However, since it's not yet official, it might be best to temper our expectations and not get too excited to avoid another heartbreak.

Regarding the fight itself, I believe it's long overdue as both boxers are great in their own era.

It's about time that we witness a big fight between the two undefeated champions to determine who is the best.
This would be the toughest fight ever once pushed. Both are undefeated and are actually undisputed boxers who are well-skilled in their own craft. Regardless of their age difference, it’s still hard to predict as who will end up as being beaten and who will definitely become the last man standing inside the ring. But if we will look into their past matches, I guess I would vote for Terrence Crawford, he’s not getting any younger and yet, his performance is not aging.
1125  Economy / Economics / Re: Essentials to starting A business on: April 23, 2023, 09:58:47 PM
I think what the OP said is complete enough to be followed by people who want to start a business. because it is better for us to always make thorough preparations even though these preparations will take a longer time. it's better than us rushing to build a business without proper preparation which ends in failure. One point that can be added is that it is important to have a strong mentality in building a business. because I know that building a business will also drain our mentality. because business is an unsafe zone, so we must always adapt at all times to adjust to market and economic conditions around us. we must always be ready to face various obstacles. and it is also necessary for us to make a backup plan and also reserve capital.
Everything in business is uncertain that’s why we should make a thorough preparation before it will be put into action. And there are time that even if your business prosper at first, that does not mean that it will stay that way forever. At least you should always be competitive by getting updated with the latest promotions so that you can always be on top of other businesses. And when everything you put into it does not come successful, then shift to plan b. That’s the reason why there’s always reservation for plans in case the first one does not work out.
1126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i make 100 $ daily from online casinos on: April 23, 2023, 09:42:56 PM
Gamble with the amount of money that you can afford to lose. If you can afford to lose $2000, then you can gamble with it. If you see gambling as a way of making money, that is the worst indiscipline that you have in gambling, never depend on gambling at all other than seeing it as fun and entertainment and not going beyond that.
There’s no certainty in gambling and that you can make a $100 each day, if you do that it’s like you are living your life trying to believe of what is unbelievable. The truth is, gambling is to make you lose, the more you bet, the more you lose, that’s why it’s better to gamble an amount you can afford to lose, and never see gambling as one source of income, it should always be considered just for fun and entertainment.
1127  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be aware of what to do as a new user to prevent losing your account. on: April 23, 2023, 09:23:41 PM
Considering that the number of banned accounts is increasing daily and over time, I want to take this opportunity to offer advice to new users of bitcointalk.org.
In my observation, the rate of accounts getting banned is actually reducing as the forum seems to be getting more lenient in hitting the ban hammer on a user.
To avoid getting banned;
• Don't plagiarize,
• Don't spam,
• Don't spread malware.

2: Technical board: Most of the banned accounts I've seen in the forum were barred from replying to a topic in the technical board,
There have only been peculiar cases where a user was banned from replying in the technical board. It's not a common occurrence on the forum and definitely not one that really affects newbies.
To make it simple, learn to follow and abide with the forum rules so that you will never be subject to banning that will eventually lost your user account. Do not keep on spamming in the forum just to participate in the discussion. Just DYOR when the topics seem hard for you so that you can gain clarity on the topics and you can share what’s every member needs to know and learn.
1128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: April 23, 2023, 08:58:28 PM
American elections are conducted in a very opaque manner and they are susceptible for manipulation and rigging. There are provisions for postal voting, which are being misused by both the mainstream parties. At least when compared to the elections in European Union and Japan, those in the United States are conducted in a very unfair manner. A perfect example is the 2008 United States Senate election in Minnesota. Norm Coleman of the GOP was leading after all the votes were count. But Al Franken of the DFL was declared as the winner, claiming that tons of untallied ballots (all in favor of Franken) suddenly propped up everywhere.
So that proves that elections can be manipulated even in developed countries, and just like a lot of people, I used to think that such things only happen in underdeveloped or third-world countries where it's really easy for someone who has more power to turn the results in their favor by cheating in elections or by buying or forcing people to vote for them.

It is basically a game between politicians where the person who has the most power will come out as the winner, and others will then have no other option but to accept that or they can start protesting if that does any good.
I guess there’s nothing new about it. That’s the reason why election have end up so dirty because of these powerful people who tend to control the results or buy the votes of the people so they can win and sit on the powerful positions in the government. While some are playing the game clean and honest, others are also paying their people to do the cheating so they can finally own the government positions.
1129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How I found my financial success in Bitcoin 1 year on: April 22, 2023, 10:59:00 PM
I am buying more bitcoin
Now even though I am at profit and have gained financial knowledge through the help of the bitcointalk forum, I will still buy more bitcoin even at the current price because of my personal belief in bitcoin's ability to cash up with the current market situation to always place me at less risk.
You have gained financial knowledge from this forum, and it is regularly encouraged to keep buying bitcoins consistently so far you can afford to buy without really minding if the prices are up or down, so I am not surprised that that is the action you are taking. Also what is making you not to care much also is because you have experienced success already and you are personally convinced by your success so far that you will be more successful with just some little more effort and investment.
But let us consider that before OP started to succeed in bitcoin, for sure everything started from a scratch, just like anyone else. The big difference is that OP is just determined to succeed in bitcoin because he has faith and high hopes that he will make it big with bitcoin. While others experience losses and eventually quit, OP chose to pursue his goal and now everything paid off.
1130  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading is perfect work for jobless peoples on: April 22, 2023, 09:44:44 PM
Not having job, not having anything you are doing and only depend on trading? That makes trading to be riskier and it can result to a poor mindset that will not offer anything more than losses. Do not depend on trading.

Even if you have work that you are doing, only use little percentage of your weekly earning for trading, not making it to affect your financial or family financial life.
Day trading has its own risks, and it’s even more riskier if trading is your only source of income. You might be profitable at first but eventually, if the market is not good enough to trade, you will never make profits and you will start struggling on providing for your necessities in life. That is why day trading or long term trading should only be your side hustle, as it will only create additional profits to your main source of income.
1131  Economy / Economics / Re: SPENDING MORE THAN YOU EARN on: April 22, 2023, 09:18:41 PM
Yes, this is the first thing that I have learned when I started to get a job, bills are piling up, credit card debts, then budget for food and other amenities. So for those who are just starting up it's going to be very difficult unless someone more experience will guide them, like their parents on how to live without having to spend more than you can earn.

Buy what you need and not what you want.
If you have a chance to buy second hand things, then do it. It's not always that you will have to buy brand new which cost a lot.
I also like the pay cash attitude, in this case you don't need to swipe your credit card.
If you can used public transportation, the better.
Live your life as simple as you can. That way, you can avoid an expensive lifestyle which will only let you spend more than you earn, like those who tend to live like rich people but deeply, they are drown to debt. So you should know when to spend and when not to especially when it comes to your needs over your wants. Also, if you can still recycle those old thing you have and are still good enough to use, then why bother buying something new as it only means spending again on your hard-earned money. Learn to save more than to spend more.
1132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you favor betting on spesific sport? on: April 22, 2023, 08:59:04 PM
I am just curious to know why people favor one Sport over another, when it comes to betting? Is there specific Sport that increase your win chance or do you bet on those Sport for other reasons?
You bet on what you know. As many people are watching football and also prefer it, there are more people that prefer football betting. As for me, I personally prefer football betting because I am more exposed to football and it is what we mostly talked and argue about.

It is what you know that you will bet on. People that know much about other sport also bet on it. If you know about tennis, you will find yourself betting on it too. So is basketball too and others.
Right. You know there are high chances to win if you bet on the game you really know and the game you have high background on it. Otherwise, when you bet randomly, it’s like you only bet to lose and nothing more. But if you think you know every game in sports betting, so there’s no need to bet in a single game specifically. You can just bet in all of them, rest assured that you have your favorite player or team in every game so you can make your best bet and with luck aside, you can win on what you bet.
1133  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you ever be afraid of holding? on: April 22, 2023, 08:41:21 PM
Is holding for too long OK?
in the past I have had bad experiences with holding altcoins. it started when i buy altcoin on exchange, i withdraw it in wallet. but i forgot about it. I accidentally held on too long. it has even gone through several pumps and finally a very sharp decline occurred. sizable loss.
from that experience, I see, if you want to hold for the long term it is better to choose Bitcoin. any altcoin is too risky for our investment. unless you are a person who always goes to the market every day.
Altcoins are certainly not for long term investments, so you need to hold them only for short term and then be ready to sell them before their prices decline. But some failed to sell so they end up losing. However, with bitcoin, it’s certainly good for long term investment, so the more years you tend to hold it, the higher the value it gets. Especially if you hold it until you forget that you have a portion of bitcoin in your portfolio, I guess that would bring very huge profits by then.
1134  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: April 21, 2023, 10:58:48 PM
In my opinion.

Everything you do, activity and other think on the casino are gambling. You're not gambling now, but there has some chance you are gonna to gambling soon in the future. The temptation are high, If you are stay on gambling sector.

So, I call it gambling. It's promotion, you get free money soon you're losing then are gonna triggered you to deposit.
For me, the only reason why you call it gambling is because you are gambling an amount that you may lose or win in the end. If there’s no money waiting as a reward, or any thing that has a value, I don’t think it can be considered gambling. Though we may say everything we do that is uncertain can be called gambling, but gambling in casinos is a different thing, it comes with rewards or losses in the end.
1135  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Essential one to new traders in Crypto currency on: April 21, 2023, 10:40:15 PM
You are right on some things maybe even more if you want. But all of that is based on the ideal of a suitable trader in crypto trading. Because some people who are carried away by ambition actually fall down with considerable losses. The reason is when you are able to control your mind in crypto trading, all other aspects will be easy to control too. Beginner traders come with the aim of getting instant profits because they are matched with experienced influencers, as a result many conclude negatively that crypto trading is like gambling.
But the problem with beginner traders are they are more on emotions than trusting their own minds. That’s why it’s easy for them to fall and believe into crypto influencers and literally follow their advices, rather than doing their hard work in researching so that they can come up with good personal analysis. And with greed motivating them, the reason why they instant trade and instantly lose their funds too.
1136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: April 21, 2023, 09:58:43 PM
Gambling addict will not listen easily, they are drowning on their greed and they need proper assistance and medication, I'm talking about the worst case scenario of being addict in gambling. As much as possible, you have to help yourself if you are still in the early stage of addiction, it's not too late for you. These reminders are being posted here repeatedly and I'd hope that many are already aware about the possible risk of gambling and the threat of its addiction. If you can help someone who are into gambling, please do so because you can save his/her life by guiding them slowly but surely.
As long as gambling addicts continue to make profits from casinos, they will never realize that they have been drowned already in it. But when they start to incur losses, they will realize that too much gambling is really bad for them and may even ruin their bright future. But admitting to theirselves that they have been addicted to gambling might be hard for them, that’s why there should be family and friends that should support them so they can slowly get rid of gambling and stop gambling for good.
1137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The fall of crypto influencers. on: April 21, 2023, 08:50:45 PM
The problem for now is that there are too many naive people who would find it very difficult to say they fell.
Precisely with the increasingly booming crypto conditions, as well as with the many naive people and beginners who enter, this will make them thrive even more, I think.

As long as those people choose the method that they think is the easiest thing to do without the need to study, then indeed the influencers will still be flooded with enthusiasts.
I guess that’s the reason why a lot of crypto influencers have risen right now seeing a lot of newbies are now trying to invest in crypto without even making some DYOR or preparation study before they invest. That’s why they can’t blame theirselves if they always lose in crypto because they enter the market the wrong way. And when these newbies start to lose and learn, then there’s another batch of naive newbies who will enter the market again,  thus retaining the demand of those unreliable crypto influencers.
1138  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Clients getting turned down by United Kingdom Banks | PM on other quest on: April 20, 2023, 10:49:58 PM
Reading this, I just remembered that banks ban and freeze accounts if they know that it involves crypto, like trading or investing. That is why, when my friends apply for a bank, they wouldn't say that it involves crypto, but they can still check it. If the coming money is huge, that is the time they will ask for proof of income, at which point they will freeze your account.
I guess that is not only happening in UK but certainly in all countries that are not crypto friendly. So when you admit that you are involved in crypto and that huge funds are entering your account, your account will be automatically freeze or closed. That’s why some crypto investors prefer to be anonymous, and just hide the source of their funds so that the banks will no longer question and suspect them. And much better if you separate your funds, and deposit into different banks.
1139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you agree with ChatGPT on the club that might win the premier League? on: April 20, 2023, 09:55:15 PM
If I'm not mistaken, the AI is a bit stupid in this case and anything that has anything to do with anything after the end of 2021, because it has data that only goes back to that period. At the moment when the AI is "online" in the sense that it has all possible data, then it will probably be able to give much more accurate and precise answers.

This could be a problem for bookmakers, because players will have a very good tool for analyzing matches, and thus a greater chance of winning.
Maybe because the app lacks updates that need to be fed on the system, otherwise players who seek for advice may not get the best and lose their bets eventually. This is the reason why using ChatGPT is not completely reliable, at least we should focus on our own analysis because our human minds are more capable to analyze compared to this chatbot that only tells what has been fed to it. But maybe in the future, ChatGPT will able to give us precise details for betting.
1140  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: FIVE TIPS EVERY BEGINNER SHOULD KNOW BEFORE INVESTING IN BITCOIN. on: April 20, 2023, 09:35:28 PM
The fact that the same topic is being repeated is not a bad thing; it provides important information that newbies should be aware of, and new people join the forum almost every week. The big surprise is that the topic was started by a newbie who joined the forum recently to teach other newbies about bitcoin. That should be the sole reason the post is being called into question.
Maybe the OP just wants to give their opinion on advice/tips that he knows or maybe the OP is more experienced so he knows how to travel at the beginning as a beginner so he can control it well, we don't know how knowledgeable OP is in investing in bitcoin while for those who just joined here they are still considered beginners and when he starts posting the discussion is often repeated then of course we are like he is giving lectures here, this is not a problem maybe in the future he can do more research on the forum especially if you want to discuss a topic then you have to look for it first this topic already exists or not.
However, one thing is certain, OP has given good points to consider when investing for crypto with newbies. Though this topic has been repeated a lot of times, but still we are learning from it. So there’s no problem with OP, he just want his pro newbies to be more aware when it comes to crypto investing. After all, the decision still relies on the newbie itself whether he’ll follow or not the suggestions or advices from pro crypto investors.
