2001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling addiction a disease? on: April 17, 2019, 11:42:05 PM
I am not really a gambler but I heard about people who can't quit it and keep losing lots of money. Do you think the attitude to gambling addiction should be the same as to drug addiction?
Should the government forbid gambling and treat somehow those who are addicted?
Or maybe it should be left up to an adult? I mean, should people decide on their own whether they need to gamble or not.
What do you think?

Gambling was created for entertainment and recreational purposes. There's no way government will ban gambling since they can gain tax from it, and it has been part of every countries culture to gamble. They can only go after illegal gambling games or if gambling operators commit fraud or illegal activities. Being addicted to gambling is our own responsibility and the government has nothing to say about it.
2002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling securely and sensibly online on: April 17, 2019, 11:32:46 PM
For most people (myself included), gambling at online casino's is a harmless pass time fun activity, but of course it can become a problem for many.   IMO, to lessen the risk of becoming a problem gambler, there are certain things i bear in mind such as,
  • Gambling for Fun - Not to Win Money  Smiley
  • Setting myself a gambling goal
  • I Bet small  (don't blow all your money at once)
  • I practice gambling with friends  Grin
  • Set time limits and walk away  Roll Eyes

Many of these are easier said than done of course but it might be worth noting.   Online gambling is probably the best thing to happen since sliced bread  Huh and i'm not saying these points could or would work for everyone but they might help in enjoying gambling in a healthy, financially sensible way.

I'm interested to know how you keep tabs and control on your gambling to make sure that one does not become a compulsive gambler or problem gambler.

I set my own rules and limitations when gambling.

*I always remind my self not to be greedy and never be careless, especially when I am winning.
*I keep my self aware whenever I feel I am being greedy, when I notice signs that I am being greedy, I pass a bet and smoke for a while to cool down Grin.

*Never to chase my losses, this sometimes leads me to even more losses.

*Know your limitations, and when to quit. I know  that whenever I am lucky it doesn't last for a whole day. So, just a few sequence of losses, I quit and take away  what I can.

I have a lot more, I hope this can help other gamblers in setting their own rule and to lessen greed when gambling.
2003  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you selling your altcoins so soon? on: April 17, 2019, 11:21:45 PM
It depends on what coin are you referring too. When I was new here, I usually sell half and hold half of my bounty and observe that holding a coin for too long is not really that good. This is still on a case to case basis, some altcoins has a really good long-term potential. The problem is, it's difficult to tell which is which. That is why you should be updated about the future plans of the dev team, or check it your self if they are really committed in delivering their product or services which could attract potential future investors.
2004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking to invest in a couple alts.. on: April 17, 2019, 10:54:51 PM
Hi,
I've got a small bit of money to invest with. I trade these days. But it'd give me peace of mind knowing I'm also holding a bit.

I'm thinking of going with Ethereum. maybe 50% ETH / 50% BTC
Are there any of the top10 altcoins that are currently a better buy than ETH?

Investment diversification is the most advisable way to invest your money. That way, you have higher chances of earning if ever the market moves in a favorable way. This can also limit your loss if ever the market demand drops.
2005  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which are the best cryptocurrency Exchanges in Australia? on: April 17, 2019, 10:35:52 PM
Try to check out https://nauticus.io/. It's a new and developing platform. I have been part of their telegram group and it seems that is growing. However, you will have to undergo KYC before you can use their platform. Since you only have AUD, this site will suit you. No worries about it, I've tried depositing and withdrawing money from it, I experienced no problem. They also have an active support which helped me with my KYC procedure.

*They have a monthly random airdrop to it's users. Just to add.  Grin
2006  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is an entertainment? on: April 17, 2019, 10:28:25 PM
Most of the people states that gambling is form of entertainment but the reality is different gambling is like business where people look to make more money from investing little money but most of them will get failed.

So in your view gambling is business or entertainment, answer honestly. Cheesy

It actually depends from people to people, of course gambling addict see it as a way to gain profit from gambling, and of course the happiness they will when gambling is way more than those who are gambling as recreation.

I would actually say that I am the type of people who gamble for entertainment. I use it as a way to socialize, have fun, relieve stress. I don't gamble with that much money, I just want to have fun and socialize, so losing is not a big deal for me, as long as I am having fun.
2007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Decentralized Affiliate Networks in iGaming on: April 17, 2019, 10:09:52 PM
To those of you here who are active in the casino affiliate marketing field, I think the fact that blockchain is now being used in the affiliate marketing world is being overlooked. It's actually an emerging trend. Those who have started there long before may just be the most successful ones moments from now. What are your thoughts on this?
Not all people who do affiliate marketing do succeed yet i have tried this stuff wayback before but i would say it wont really be that easy.yes, this is currently an emerging trend
but this would suit out to those people who do have the skills and perseverance on affiliating and this is my first time on hearing out on iGaming. This would be worthy for those who currently into this field.

Honestly, I am just a gamer ever since and no idea about affiliate marketing. Upon, reading this, it seems that affiliate marketing is becoming a trend and it might be profitable. However, as what others have posted, even those who had experienced affiliate marketing, it seems this only fits someone who is skilled on this filled. This takes a lot of time, effort, skills and knowledge.
2008  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who sell? / How this happens? on: April 17, 2019, 09:57:48 PM
A lot of possible things could've caused that, could be bot, human error, or intentional to drop the price. However, I doubt why would someone sell really that cheap. Makes me wonder Huh . Lucky who where able to buy those cheap.

*I encountered the same mistake before when I was trading using my phone, I mistakenly added additional zero when I placed an order.

2010  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: On-chain Security. Thoughts? on: April 17, 2019, 09:21:14 PM
The attack on on cryptocurrency from government and labeling it to be aiding money laundering and founding terrorism top exchanges have been forced to carry out measure to protect the cryptocurrency industry from.this evil and at that binance as one of the world leading exchange have been taking to lead in this direction by providing measures to tackles all the loop holes.

That's one of the disavantage of cryptocurrency, being decentralized, it can be used for money laundering and frauds. As we know, one of the most trusted and used platform in crypto is binance, that is why maybe they made a move to lessen the possibility of their platform being used to do such activities.

*I have read a thread and an article about this, will post and edit post once I found it.  Grin
2011  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BOLT Labs Raises $1.5 Million for Lightning Privacy on: April 17, 2019, 09:06:59 PM
I guess their intention is to develop a private and secured cryptocurrency channel and it's great news. A lot of us will benefit this kind of implementation. Knowing that they're developing the features and security, I believe that our information is well protected this time.
2012  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin (BTC) Gaining Interest From Investors, VCs and Tech Companies on: April 17, 2019, 08:50:01 PM
There are lots of development and adoption in cryptocurrency these days and as we can see, it affects the value of bitcoin as well. It's fine to be optimistic though we all know that expecting too much is quite unrealistic during this market situation but bitcoin is unpredictable. It could exceed our speculations.
2013  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How far will Litecoin go? on: April 17, 2019, 08:22:41 PM
If we'll look back at the history of Litecoin, we could see how far did it go. But just like other altcoins, litecoin also depends on the value of bitcoin. However, litecoin is never too far from being an independent coin since it has great potential. Compared to other altcoins, litecoin's value is getting stable these days.
2014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Gambling with BitcoinSV on: April 17, 2019, 08:03:12 PM
I didn't know that there are gambling sites which accept bitcoinsv. It's actually the first time that I've heard about it. If there will be a legit gambling site which accepts Bitcoinsv, I still take the risk but I would rather choose sites which accepts bitcoin, Eth or Eos. I don't think that bitcoinsv has potential.
2015  Economy / Economics / Re: Opinions about the emergence of new Coins on: April 17, 2019, 07:34:46 PM
Honestly, I don't trust the existence of new coins these days. Based on my experience, they will just bloom for days but fades in just a short period of time. I want to get rid of shitcoins so I would only stick to well-established coins. I wish that the market would do coin cleansing to remove all the shitcoins listed.
2016  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Crypto space needs education - New Platform Coming on: April 17, 2019, 07:24:43 PM
It's actually great that you are offering free cryptocurrency courses to new people to be able to inform them about it. This will actually help the attract  new comers to learn and adapt cryptocurrency. Would like to give it a try. Thanks for sharing.
2017  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which is the Safest and Most Reliable Exchange to Sell Alt Coins ? on: April 17, 2019, 07:09:53 PM
Binance will be the best to sell your altcoins since it's the most reliable platform for selling your crypto along with that, they will not require you to undergo KYC before you can withdraw your funds. Keep in mind it still depends on what altcoin are you trading, just look what exchange is available for you to sell your altcoin.
2018  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dice Game Profitable strategy on: April 17, 2019, 06:42:14 PM
I don't have a specific strategy because gambling isn't about skills or guts but it's all about luck. What I just do is just I set limits. I won't risk all of my funds just to aim more profit. I allocate enough fun for it but I won't exceed more than that.
2019  Economy / Economics / Re: Everything is an investment-change my mind on: April 17, 2019, 06:29:27 PM
As long as money is involved, there's always risk. There's no guaranteed profit be it in real-world or cryptocurrency investment. The term "invest only what you can afford to lose" is meant to warn investors to never put all your money in an investment since there's no guarantee whether you will earn from it, there are still chances that you will lose all your investment.
2020  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you watch the matches you're gambling on on: April 17, 2019, 06:10:49 PM
Yes, I do watch the games that I'm betting on but sometimes, I choose a sport that I'm watching. I feel more excited and things feel more intense as I watch the game flow. There are matches that I'm not watching anymore especially when I'm already sure of my bet.
