1141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Omicron - Dividend-Issuing Currency - Sixth dividends issued: 437 sats/OMC on: June 15, 2017, 04:48:14 PM
Independent audits by high profile members of the Bitcoin community will be allowed every 2-3 months to make sure that data provided biweekly is accurate and not forged or modified in any way.
Curious, will there be an audit? Should be long overdue now. Or has this been scratched?

I have peeked here on and off and I think it is time for a closer look.  What are the criteria for the dividends?  Are they simple time based payouts or are they triggered by events on the chain?
1142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Safest way to keep bitcoins? on: June 14, 2017, 05:59:25 PM
Software wallet, the wallet.dat and other files backed up on USB, the textual info, like username and passphrases written into a text file, not saved and a smartphone takes a picture of that text file that is then deleted without ever saving the data.
1143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Top 5 Altcoins to Trade/Invest on: June 14, 2017, 05:42:51 PM
Burst and Storj and others like that have a pretty different system for mining.  The trading exchanges have some winners, but by the time you have looked them up the numbers have changed.  It is a fast market and you just have to watch the signals.

1144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Exclusive Coin - Cryptsy/Bittrex, CAT bot, Loads of News! on: June 14, 2017, 05:38:53 PM
Other than a premine I fail to see the differences between this and most other new coins.  The line about being tired of scams and such is followed by the coin data and it is pretty much the same as all the others.
1145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Criminality and Bitcoin on: June 14, 2017, 05:18:20 PM
I think this criminal activities using a bitcoin has been predicted by many people especially big names and the government, but with the popularity of bitcoin, I think they can't stop people from using them, and the fact that it also helps their country to develop their economy.

It is a new thing for the media and that is simply the only press that the system gets.  This is noth because the governments want the public to see Bitcoin as evil and also because there is not a lot of "news" that comes out of our little crypto world that the press picks up on.
1146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thank you Millennials for screwing the world. on: June 14, 2017, 04:50:57 PM
I am not saying that I am for that coin, pretty neutral on ETH in my world, but if you are trying to get people to your cause, we need a little more of a clear path of where you are going with all this.
1147  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Beware of new scam giga watt miner hosting on: June 13, 2017, 10:24:29 PM
Thanks for the reminders and as I have read on the name of the site it shows bitmain which we do know a reputable company do offer or sell miners either asics or on altcoin but I would really say that this blog has no connections on it. Giga watt miner? Anything on cloud isn't the thing who do I trust.Ive done on cloud mining on whatsoever on this field.

There were a few out there, based on the fact that they realized that mining with the hardware they had was not profitable, so they tried to increase revenue by renting the use of the hardware.  Even those do not last long because they cannot keep long term clients. I haven't heard of any minning site which paid in the long term.

Yes, I have known some people who do offer such kind of service but most of them do fail and as you said they cant sustain for longer basis which mining difficulty increase at the same time the cost of maintenance on running those miners. We do know as the time goes by miners gets out dated which means it wont really profitable already.

For the most part, any easy to mine coin is in the potential stage.  Once that potential begins to manifest is when the minig diff will shoot up and quick most of the time.
1148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Blockchain disable pyment to multiple addresses per transaction. on: June 13, 2017, 10:17:16 PM
Blockchain disable pyment to multiple addresses per transaction and this have become a problem to most signature campaign operatives because of the sending cost.

Can someone please proffer a solution to this especially in the area of the best alternatives.

Your contributions shall be greatly appreciated.

Is it that you want to code a TX and prevent the output from going to a certain address?  Or do you want to code a TX and have that alter the future blockchain blocks causing an address to be unable to be an output?

The first case would make little sense as the outputs come from the TX, so if you didn't want an output address you would not include it in the TX.  The second has such scary ramifications that it is crazy
1149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Need to Retrieve My Bitcoin Account Purchased in 2008-2009 on: June 13, 2017, 06:33:17 PM
Hi there.

I have purchased a bitcoin account and possibly may still have traces of my transaction. Where do I start finding my account?

What if an email confirmation or transaction was sent out to me, does this justify that I am able to retrieve my account?

Or where do I find a true source who can help me retrieve my account?

Note: My earlier post(s) was deleted and I am not sure who to turn to on retrieving my account.

Thank you most kindly for reading this.

It depends on where the wallet came from.  An online wallet from a site that still is up and running, created with an email you still control, can be gotten to, perhaps after jumping through some hoops.  You may even have some autofill data in the browser, maybe.
1150  Economy / Economics / Re: Mining coins save or sell it? on: June 13, 2017, 06:26:50 PM
After dropping 50% of your balance if the price is still dropping or starting to drop, then you can sell the other half.  If the price is still rising, you can wait or sell again or split the remainder in half again.

1152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: lol so many newbs flooding the forum asking same questions on: June 13, 2017, 06:00:30 PM
The main problem is that many of these people are burning coins without knowing it.  They open a wallet, play around, get some coins in the wallet and wander away, passphrase/private keys either lost of discarded

Small amounts most of the time, but when done in large numbers by many people, it can mean a few forever lost Bitcoins. Also flooding the same questions means lack of reading by the newbies.

Should I or should I not? Raid 0 hgst 2 x 3TB burstcoin mining?

I have already HGST Ultrastar A7K3000 HUA723030ALA640 3 TB, and another on the way.

Should I raid 0 64 strip these two.

The work that is gonna be done on these is called burstcoin mining.

Read/writes will be faster.

I do have few things to factor in.

I have a vantec sata3 raid card that will be running the raid.

I do have an omnivs1000 power backup.

https://www.tripplite.com/omnivs-120v-1000va-500w-line-interactive-ups-tower-usb-port~OMNIVS1000/

So if powerloss happens raid wont be lost. Also another factor, data isnt important for this raid 0 setup.

What do you guys think?

For BURST mining RAID0 is waste of space. Any HDD is fast enough for mining. Most of USB sticks and memory cards are fast enough for this...
Just plot both drives and enjoy Smiley

Yea I got a response from team-burst.us
Individual drives will be faster than Raid 0 as the miners are multithreaded and can read both drives simultaneously.

Also think about the overall plan and layout for your rig.  If you are going to mine and plot simultaneously, moving files within the same drive is ten times faster than drive to drive.  You can plot one subdirectory and mine another, then move the files once done.

I know that you believe that there is X value is these items but they are worth what a person will pay for them and no more.  Open up your options a little and you may close a deal, be hard and firm and you will likely never get anything from them.
1156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin pump groups on: June 13, 2017, 04:58:44 PM
Imagine that myself and nine other people decide to slow, with increasing speed, buy the X coin.  This is leaving out anything about promotion, rumor building and the such, just plain old buy it for the price rise.

I personally love the combination of a high sell order on coin X, followed quickly by a random announcement in the chat box that the dev of coin X "just got arrested for grand theft" or something like that.
1157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: WARNING: ICOcountdown.com SCAM extortion scheme on: June 13, 2017, 04:53:25 PM
i think icocountdown is good service
many coin is succes in ico selling use icocountdown service, sample LUNYR coin
but iam not understand about OP problem 4.5 bitcoin with ico countdown

Most business people look at the Bitcoin and crypto coins arena and wonder where the money is.  A good business person will examine a pre-existing business model and start finding the path with the highest revenue, the lowest cost and the most staying power.  If you watch the ICO/IPO part of the market, there is a lot of work that goes into launching your own and the market is hard to break.

Service providers are the link to revenue in every business market.  Linking two parties for a fee is the magic sweet spot that you want to always be.  Think about medical insurance.  The doctors don't want to deal with the billing, the insurance companies don't want to deal with thousands of clients, so a third party company handles nothing but the exchange of information and funding sources between the medical world and the insurance world and takes a fee for every bit of work done.

This site is a middleman service and they do so because both ends have high risk and possible high returns.  These days it is not about the water company selling water to the people in the desert, it is about the middleman that connects the people in the desert and the water company, performing very little real work and charging probably both ends of the exchange a hefty fee.

But, if it were not for the third party middle area of service, our companies might have to go back to answering their own phones, dealing with their clients directly and we just can't have that, lol.
1158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people are asking you about Bitcoin now? on: June 13, 2017, 04:11:04 PM
From january 2017 to april 2017, only a few people would ask me. Since april 2017, tons of people started to ask me about it.

People give up quick on understanding new things and when they are confused they are scared and they avoid things.
It will take time.
1159  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Exchange] Liqui - trade and earn 24 APR on BTC, ETH on: June 13, 2017, 04:03:17 PM

but there is one problem i am having rather often;
withdrawl confirmation emails are random.sometimes they arrive sometimes they dont.
i cancel and withdraw again if i dont recevive the email.
...

now it is possible to use 2-FA for withdraw  Shocked
that's a great! no more dealing with lost emails  Wink

thank you liqui

2FA is great, but I tell you that there is nothing that can change your world like a changed phone number.  I changed from one service to another and did not bother with keeping the number, thinking nothing at all as I did it.  Then, ban, within an hour a site that I was locked out of because I didn't think about the 2FA phone number.

Some sites can take weeks to get back into and others are locked forever.  I was tempted at one point to pay to have the other phone back on for a month and change things over.
