1041  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: not snarky, but is BCC considered an altcoin? on: August 29, 2017, 06:30:08 PM
Thanks.  Then any coin besides bitcoin is considered an altcoin?  I thought the sha256 might be an element in the differentiation.

yes, any coin besides BTC is an altcoin.

To clarify, BCC is bitconnect coin.   BCH is Bitcoin Cash.  Both are altcoins

That's exactly what it is. This wasn't an actual Fork it was simply a change in coins the same way that any other new coin is created. It just happened to be done at the same time as August 1st and for the purpose of giving an alternative to people who didn't like what was going to happen on August 1st.
1042  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in Asia on: August 29, 2017, 06:10:32 PM
if i'm not mistaken that Japan as the first country in asia who admitted bitcoin as the currency and bitcoin has growing faster in that country so bitcoin are being so popular in asia even in my country some people has dare to resign from their actual jobs and starting to earning bitcoin from their trading activities

It does not matter much on which country make bitcoin legalized or which country has more bitcoin users etc. The point is which continent is growing crazy after bitcoin and Asia is leading over it. Counties like japan and china are way ahead in bitcoin implementation and usage. Other continents and countries should get passion from these countries and make bitcoin legalize in their counties also.
1043  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I send $1 worth of BTC and pay $4.95 in fee, is that a joke? 500% fee? ROFL on: August 29, 2017, 05:55:09 PM
That's more expensive then sending money from MARS to Cambodia with a satellite technology.
Looks like Bitcoin is going to fail hard and Ethereum finally will take over.

One thing make me wonder why the tx fee is not decreasing after swegit implemeataion. Making a bigger block means faster confirmation and low transcation fee but we have not seen any thing low in terms of bitcoin fee. I will not suggestt o use BCH, lite coin etc but would like to know if this can be possible in BTC also, the low trans cation fee.
1044  Other / Meta / Re: Simple Machines Forum? on: August 29, 2017, 05:20:58 PM
Hi, all. I have always wondered why there is a bar on the right-hand corner of the Bitcointalk site stating "simple machines forum". What does this have to do with Bitcointalk? How do simple machines even remotely relate to Bitcoin? Aren't simple machines like screws, pulleys, levers wheel and axles and all that stuff that I learned in high school? So what relation does it have with the Bitcointalk forum?

It's simply the forum software we are using, just like vBulletin, MyBB, and many more. There is currently a new software called epochtalk which is financed by theymos (the money he gets from donations and ads) but we still didn't see anything significant yet.

Another one out there is called vanilla forum, and I've seen several others. Trust me this saves you months and months and months of programming and coding. In addition to that these companies have take care of security, database control, making sure you don't get hacked things like that. Simple Machines forum is best among all of them.
1045  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin prices rise high on: August 29, 2017, 04:56:36 PM
How is this any higher than it was before. just look at the progression that is shown on the charts, this is not abnormal, it is exactly the way it should be going  Wink  Most of people think like this and i think why not? Bitcoin is still very much low to its potential price as we are heading towards 10K $ by December End.
1046  Economy / Economics / Re: Mining coins save or sell it? on: August 29, 2017, 04:31:18 PM
If you existed Bitcoin, that save it. If you end up existing at these other side coins did you want to change into Bitcoin and save there. You're not going to want to hold on to any of these other coins for any longer than possibly overnight.
1047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PEEPCOIN / PCN - NEW COMMUNITY TAKEOVER THREAD on: August 29, 2017, 03:38:36 PM
I guess I'll watch this new wave. But I've actually tried 2 or 3 times to get behind one of these reimagining, or one of these Awakenings for peepcoin and it never happens. Most of the time any kind of new energy this put into this project results and nothing more than a lot of people wanting to coniac and not being able to get them because no one's willing to download the wallets and mine the coins.

So you just end up with a bunch of stagnant wallets waiting for their transactions to take place. I think Peepcoin is different that ordinary coins and it will have a unique community . Maybe you do not agree but i can see some good potential in this coin.
1048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are you mining today? on: August 29, 2017, 03:09:56 PM
if you like a coin and say you mine, here, or youtube, expect its difficulty to rise and earn less. Keep in mind, keep it for you  Wink I mine for long term.

I disagree. If it's a legitimate coin with good development and roadmap, drawing attention to it is a good thing. If more people start mining it and the difficulty goes up, some will decide it's better to buy the coin instead of trying to mine. The end result is it raises the marketcap and the price for everyone.

Some of have some value some of don't but as long as they're even carrying a couple of satoshi a piece then it's well worth it. Before you decide to mine a coin, you should know that the particular coin is worth mining and it can really worth the time and power mining that particular coin.

1049  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining Tutorial on: August 29, 2017, 02:33:07 PM
Hello

Does somebody know a good tutorial or site where I can learn about mining and how it works?
The pages I've found are either explaining it in a very basic way or they are getting too specific.
I have an IT background and I would really like to learn how the process exactly works.

Thanks in advance.

If you're planning on doing nothing but mining with your CPU that good luck trying to get a hold of some of these older coin. What you need to do is to start at the basics where are the algorithms, learn how have each of them is mined, and then start trying to figure out what it is you want to do.
1050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I love and hate altcoins on: August 29, 2017, 02:22:52 PM
You have to remove emotion, I it will be the death of all Trading. You should not hate you should not love you should simply understand and manipulate the market. Should take advantage of the town's, and that sell out at the highs. It is a simple Market manipulated by simple sets of information, including rumors, announcements, hearsay, and outright guessing.

The question is do you want to be one of those on the side that's guessing or one of those on the side that's taking advantage of everybody else that's guessing. Game is not about love or hate, the true spirit is the passion to get the profit out of altcoins.
1051  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: starting a bitcoin service. Need your advice on: August 28, 2017, 05:01:51 PM
This is a very dangerous time. For anyone who wants to start any service with Bitcoins for cryptocurrency. The fact is that the laws and regulations are lax enough that a poorly-run business or service, or an outright scam, has just enough leeway to get in there cause trouble and steal money from people.

However, ever since the end of 2015 and the beginning of 2016 with a very pivotal Florida legal case, there is definitely an Avenue that some clients can take in some cases to recover lost funds whether the company lost in purposely or through poor management. So you find yourself in a business environment that welcomes brand new services with very little regulation until it comes to the Fiat but you are also right on the border of a time period when a service or business that fails can find itself legally and monetarily held accountable.

That is not to say that you are not going to do well, it is just a say to be careful and be responsible when it comes to other people's finances. Whether we start the service or invest in a bitcoin service, we should protect people and our money and never even think of scamming anyone.
1052  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Become A Bitcoin Expert on: August 28, 2017, 03:36:34 PM
i don't get why you would need to be an expert on bitcoin even if you get to learn every thing about it, you won't be earning BTC unless you do something like mining bitcoin or do trading which is actually one thing that you need to be an expert on -- being an altcoin trader.

Yeah, thats what i feel that there is no use if you are an expert in bitcoin technology. You should be expert in some bitcoin related services most probably Trading  BTC with alts and if you got enough experience , this will mean you get benefit with your knowlegde and skills. Try to put your efforts in learning which can give you monetary benefits rather than just learning for knowlegde.

I disagree here to some extent. What if OP means to says that he want to become an expert in bitcoin technology and with that knowledge he / she can produce some great altcoins etc and if he manages to does that, this is will more profitable than things like trading etc. Try to think out of the box.  Wink
1053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin survive? on: August 27, 2017, 10:11:03 AM
Did the automobile survive? It started off being sold for less than $500 and here it is with an average consumer price of about $50,000. Did it survive? How is it possible that something could go from one value to another so quickly and still survive?
1054  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: did you place all your funds into bitcoin? on: August 27, 2017, 09:41:21 AM
I am thinking .. to put all my money in bitcoin what do you think? is it a good way to grow my money? or it is risky or.. ?
Yeah. Even though that the bitcoin investment is risky, I invested all of my money  there. I think that my money will double up because I know that the bitcoin is very profitable. Investing our money to bitcoin is really good.

I don't care if God himself came down and told me that the number 3 horse was going to win in the fourth race this afternoon, putting every single thing you have in one basket can mean disaster. I never put all the funds in one entity.
1055  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoKingdom Uncensored on: August 27, 2017, 07:09:52 AM
Every time a person walks away unhappy business there's the potential that a brand new business can spring up because. And every new business create new action in the economy and every bit of movement the economy is good for the country and for the world.
1056  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BITCOIN GROWTH FUND! on: August 27, 2017, 06:43:56 AM
So out of $1,000, you have $500 invested at Bitcoin and the other 500 in a mixture of unknown coins. Six months down the road you should have definitely seen at least a 50% increase in the value of your Bitcoin, maybe that that $500 became at least 750.

Over the long term, some of your highly Progressive Investments will Bank you quite a bit of money and you will slowly build up a pool of stronger other coins, and you will always have Bitcoin there two blankets you against extravagant losses.

1058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to store multiple coins? on: August 22, 2017, 04:11:48 PM
This is become a pretty common question and I don't know why. There is no wallet is going to hold all of your Bitcoin and all the other coins. You could do that on some exchanges usually you're going to need more than one Exchange. Store them in their software wallet.
1059  Economy / Economics / Re: When Bitcoin will be taxed, will it still be as in demand as it right now? on: August 22, 2017, 03:52:43 PM
It is illegal to tax the trading of a commodity in the way that you're talking about. If you would done your research you would say that since 2016 Bitcoin is been legally considered a commodity and not a currency in the United States, making it impossible to tax in the way that you are speaking of.
1060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: To Many SCAM! on: August 22, 2017, 03:30:42 PM
As long as you guys continue to feed into the rumors and follow people that cannot be trusted there are going to be scams and they're going to be profitable for the people that are running them. It's time that you shift your trust to a group that can actually be trusted. The same thing has been happening here for months months and even years. The trust has been placed in the wrong places and placed there for the wrong reasons.
