1021  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where can I pay with bitcoins now? on: September 12, 2017, 08:56:57 AM
Actually at first It comes to my mind if where can I spend my bitcoin, so I can use it directly not cashing it out to spend, so I just made it like this, convert bitcoin to fiat to spend directly, like putting to card, and so how I spend it. Most of the countries of the world including mine, does not have much options to spend the bitcoins directly.
1022  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When sell ETH for BTC? on: September 12, 2017, 06:36:54 AM
I guess at the moment better not exchange your ETH since it is growing too and building its future like bitcoin now. It is now hiking to high value too, so sooner it will climb up like bitcoin too since there are lots of patronage of ETH now. The more you hold the ETH, the better it is for you to get profit. Also the value of ETH is very much undervalued hovering roind 0.07 BTC.
1023  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to get involved to understand crypto world on: September 11, 2017, 05:35:16 PM
Hi,

I am a IT developer with quite a bit of experience but never paid attention to development aspects of crypto/smart contracts. I have been playing with BTC and ETH for sometime so i do understand from the currency aspect of it.

Now i want to get involved with the development aspect of it to get to the details of the technology and to unlock the opportunity it has for a tech developers like me.

Can you share your thoughts how one could travel the path and where to start and what to follow. I am sure there are many like me and a healthy discussion would be very helpful for many.

If there is was a discussing in this line and provide answers to my questions please point me in that directions.

TIA

Do not put new coins out there, we have way too many being introduced daily and they do nothing more than just clog the system and create chaos.
There has been a lot of coins and their replicas in the market , already a lot has been developed and still its takes a lot to understand all the cryto technologies.
1024  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to get hands-on with bitcoin script development on: September 11, 2017, 05:20:38 PM
I covered and had basic fundamental understanding of how the scripting (lock or formerly ScriptPubKey and unlock or formerl ScriptSig). The "mastering bitcoin" had fairly good coverage on how scripting works and what purpose it does. However there are faily large number of script op codes available in the appendix, so I am wondering what are good way to get hands-on and write a script and deploy it on live platform?
My wild guess, is most bitcoin wallets will only work with a Pay-to-public-key hash, i imagine one has to develop the proprietary wallet that can send and received bitcoin based on signing of custom scripts. I am going to take another shot at it by saying existing wallets that can send/receive bitcoin using P2SH (pay-to-script-hash) will work. But I believe one still has to write the script and some integrate with the wallet.
Thanks!

Are you trying to get info on writing these in yourself or looking for pre-existing examples? You can try looking at what is happening in the background of something like NXT or ETH.
1025  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Traders; what do you look for on: September 10, 2017, 06:27:21 PM
Straight forward question;

What do you investors look for in Pre-ICOs and then after the coin does come out on exchanges what do you look for when you're trading?

They read a few articles and think that they have the next big idea. Whether the idea is sound or not, can they make it happen? They try to involve people with them to invest in pre-ico and ico. Even there are many telegrams pump and dump group created which gives advices on when to buy and sell altcoins.
1026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Google of Blockchain- Collaboration on: September 10, 2017, 06:16:34 PM
I know that these technically already exist, but perhaps not in the same place and not linked to each other. I have seen at least one exchange that has a marketplace attached to the back of it, although it is kind of hidden and they may be building it still. There are a couple places that put together a portfolio for you.
1027  Economy / Speculation / Re: Big Governments Are Crushing Cryptocurrencies -- Bitcoin Down 10 Percent on: September 05, 2017, 09:51:41 PM
Hong Kong regulators have now issued a warning about ICO's:

http://www.sfc.hk/edistributionWeb/gateway/EN/news-and-announcements/news/doc?refNo=17PR117

Quote
As digital tokens involved in ICOs are transacted or held on an anonymous basis, by their nature they pose inherent and significant money laundering and terrorist financing risks. The SFC reminded licensed corporations and associated entities in its 16 Jan 2014 circular7 to take all reasonable measures to ensure that proper safeguards exist to mitigate these risks. Investors should also be mindful of the potential risks involved in ICOs and investment arrangements involving digital tokens. As these arrangements and the parties involved operate online and may not be regulated, investors may be exposed to heightened risks of fraud.

This feels co-ordinated. First China bans them. Then South Korea says it is thinking of banning them. Now Hong Kong issues a warning about them.

I wonder if Hong Kong is taking a pot shot at bitfinex?

Well, I don't believe in coincidences to be honest. I think it has to be something coordinated, or probably everyone was considering banning ICOs and they were just waiting for someone else to do it first to see how the market would react. Now that they have seen that idiots sell bitcoin too even if it has nothing to do with bitcoin, we are going to see a lot of governments releasing these news of "ICO banned" prior setting shorts on BTC and probably a couple big volume alts, profit from it, then watch it go to ATH.

I think all of them has taken this mutual step to stop the fraud which was increasing day by day. Every other day a person starts a new altcoin and start the ICO and get lots of money on the name of investing in ICO, and then run away with all those money. Not all ICO are bad but still its a good move to discourage scan via ICO.
1028  Other / Off-topic / Re: Job Vs Bitcoin on: September 05, 2017, 06:29:10 PM
Hi, I was wondering if I should quit my job and focus more on bitcoins? Because I think it might get me even richer without a job?  Grin

if i were you then i would never ever quit my job. job is like a permanent income source and bitcoin is just extra income source. what will you do if your bitcoin account is get hacked or somehow you loose your wallet?? don't get fool. i would like to suggest you to focus on both but can quit your job after millionaire, which is quite possible through bitcoin  Cheesy

Yes, it is mistake if he left his job and only focus on bitcoin. No doubt bitcoin give us income and it is same like our job income. But job is job, it is permanently income which we get every month without any hesitation. But about bitcoin, we should clear our mind that bitcoin is our extra income.
1029  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin dies does altcoin die? on: September 05, 2017, 06:13:28 PM
Bitcoin is a very popular crypto coin today, we know that Bitcoin will be very expensive in the future but I imagine if Bitcoin die, whether there will be hope for the future of altcoin? because most altcoin exchanges are to bitcoins
your opinion is highly appreciated. Smiley

When we think that bitcoin is popular crypto currency right now, then why we think negative ? That bitcoin will be die in future. It mean we have a doubt in our mind and we are not fully accept bitcoin as a future popular crypto currency. But it is right if bitcoin die in future then sure other altcoin will be die, because then people not believe in any other onces.
1030  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price and its correction. on: September 05, 2017, 05:57:43 PM
It's not only a bitcoin price correction anymore.
All the crypto currencies have a rather bad day today.
Mainly because of the ICO ban I suppose.
In fact bitcoin is doing much better than most altcoins.
Of course when a very important method on how altcoins get their funds is removed, that has to affect the whole market.
But for the bitcoin price, maybe less altcoins will be a benefit in the end.
Yes current blood bath in crypto market is just because of partial news of chinese authority banning ICO, but I think this shouldn't have any connection with bitcoin because they are only talking about regulating and banning bad ICOs not bitcoin or crypto trading.

NEO and ETH price have dumped hard because of panic from this news but I think both of them including bitcoin will recover really fast in next few weeks.

Just don't sell anything you have right now.

Lesson learn for me again today. Not to sell during panic times. Although I got nervous today seeing the price going down by the hour and touch below $4200 now going to $4xxx. I guess the negative news coming from Chinese regarding banning ICO are being felt today.

People are just mad here who sell on this news which is in fact not a bad news at all. I first thought only bitcoin was down but then i opened my Poloniex account and saw a red blood bath of all the altcoins too which made me surprised. Now after few hours i again touched the exchange and saw the green rises in all the altcoins. The dump is just temporary and will not last long.
1031  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Speculating A Bad Thing? on: September 05, 2017, 05:44:27 PM
Speculation is opinion of individual person and such can be taken how you think is good for you. If you think that this or that speculation can be good for your investment and buy/sell opportunity you will use it or you wont. This is how thing are working you will accept that or you wont accept it. This is mostly what you want to hear not what it will be.
speculation is everyone's choice. the result of speculation simply can not be determined. the results can be profitable or can also be detrimental. nothing can ensure the speculation runs smoothly. so if we want to speculate then we must dare to take any risks. the risk of speculation is enormous, so with it all decisions we make can determine our future.

Speculation is not bad at all. Correct Speculation cannot just come with lot of knowledge or luck, it is rather a god gift ability to think of the future. I have a friend of mine whom i always ask where the bitcoin price will go from now on and every time he give me correct answers as he has so much good speculation skills.
1032  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why bitcoin price is currently falling? on: September 05, 2017, 05:31:22 PM
It falls because people sell Cheesy

It's most likely falling because it reached a round number (5000) and many people use round numbers to cash out. Besides, after the recent rise, a correction was due... So everything is following its "natural" course. I don't really think the ICO situation played a role.

I don't think there are books on the subject.
More importantly it is selling by few people and followed by masses or rather its the panic and fud which created people to sell. But then people buy a lot too and bitcoin reaches so high with days, so there is always a time when there is a little awkward news and sell panic will show up.
1033  Economy / Economics / Re: Maybe governments can stop bitcoin after all on: September 05, 2017, 05:12:39 PM
This is a serious discussion. I mean, after I've seen how bitcoin (and other cryptos as well) got dumped badly after an irrelevant law that makes ICOs illegal. I can only imagine now what would happen If more countries do the same thing and It could get worst by make itself bitcoin illegal. Whether we like to admit it or not, most of people would sell everything they have once its made illegal, some may continue to fight the central banking but the sad reality is that as soon as people start making profits, they will dump it and move on.

I really don't see the government controlling bitcoin soon due to its nature being decentralized and if it does, it probably would have a negative impact in terms of its price on the market due to imposing regulations and taxes from it. Though one disadvantage coming from its nature is being hard to track-down, and this became an avenue for illegal transactions. Due to that reason, some countries ban the usage of bitcoin but in my opinion, the various opportunities it provide to people overshadow the disadvantages of it. It really depends on the country on which poison they are willing to choose.

I think this is lame excuse to ban bitcoin by the governments as it is used in illegal transactions. Tell me one thing, before Bitcoins was USD or EURO or any other currency was not used in illegal activities or did we have a clean atmosphere which no illegality before bitcoins  Cheesy
I think Governments should think not only to collect taxes and banning bitcoins, rather they should facilitate people with both fiat and legal bitcoins
1034  Economy / Economics / Re: Is trading just educated guessing? on: September 05, 2017, 04:51:56 PM
Trading no need educated guessing, it needs information in the right person. Information is the most important in trading . Second is Researching. Educated is unnecessary.

Information in trading is secondary thing. For good trading you first need to have education and learning about how to trade and on which coins to trade. How candle sticks and other tools work in crptocurrecny trading.Once done all this learning, now isthe time to do educated, well planned guess which will be most of the time correct as you have learnt it in the first place.
1035  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The DEATH of Bitcoin Surfaces Again on: September 05, 2017, 04:25:28 PM

Is this the beginning of the death of Bitcoin? Well, the topic is now resurrecting again now that Bitcoin just experienced one of the biggest bloodbaths ever in its trading history. And this the trend right now for the whole cryptocurrency market...we are seeing waves of red all over.

No wonder the FUD community is now having a fiesta...they think that this can be the start of the end of the world...I mean the end of Bitcoin and that it can crashed soon towards the $100 price.

Are they kidding me?

There is not bitcoin exchange hacked, there is no hardfork, there is no issue in the blockchain and no ones bitcoin has been stolen. what happen is only china ban the ICO and we see people selling the bitcoins like madly. This is just the bitcoin is moving from weaker hands to more stronger hands and it will rise more strongly very soon.
1036  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does China have a large part in the world of cryptocurrency? on: September 05, 2017, 04:14:21 PM
Correct me if I'm wrong, China is the strongest country for the bitcoin trade and bitcoin mining. They have great companies that are mining bitcoin in industrial scale. Their markets has crazy trade volumes both for bitcoin and ether.

Their decissions are game changer.

No one can deny the fact that China is a super power in bitcoins but i still dont get the Chinese government decision of banning the ICO ?? What will they gain by banning the ICO and more importantly since ICO can be run online anonymously will they ever be able to make people obey they new rule ?
1037  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should we risk mining bitcoins ? on: September 04, 2017, 09:13:38 AM
Not less you got the power of one of these Farms. There is no way anytime soon or anytime in the past two years if it's been cost-effective for an individual to mine Bitcoins. All you're going to do is lose money when there's plenty of other coins to mine.
1038  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DogeCoin Issue on: September 04, 2017, 08:08:05 AM
I got some free dogecoin but when I check it in my wallet it seems I received none. Is there any way I can check what's going on?

We're going to need a little bit more information than that. When you say you got some free Doge coin it's pretty open statement, a lot of people would be referring to things like a faucet, a gift from somebody who was telling you about it, or perhaps some sort of incentive.

The faucet and the incentive options both could be held back because of a variety of things. If you're dealing with the faucet chances are you don't fully understand the rules. They may be your coins, but there withdrawal limits, and other rules that have to be met.
1039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Now ETH is going down to the dip. You SOLD or HOLD? on: September 04, 2017, 04:49:50 AM
I would say the 20 most popular coin' beneath Bitcoin, when it comes to the past 6 months half of those have been riding Out on Just sheer energy alone. Now I'm comes time when a lot of this drama is in the past and for a new person coming into the investment Arena, they don't see anything is going to have been around for awhile that makes them want to get involved.

There's much newer projects and better projects and coins that have a much better future ahead of them. Sometimes the market driven by outside events that create enthusiasm and draw people in and they are looking for a specific coin.
1040  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is so good about Bitconnect? on: September 04, 2017, 04:28:49 AM
You can never tell why people jump on one coin and not another I was just mentioning it another thread a coin that came out quickly, was very strong, then died a week later, and in the past year to community has tried to revive that coin two or three times. There doesn't seem to be anything special about it, but for some reason it just speaks to some people.

I think sometimes it's the environment at the coins are released under. Some of these coins come out at points when there's a lot of distrust in the world based on failed projects in that recent environment, and then other coins come out and a point when people are looking for something to invest in and it just kind of slipped out there by itself.
Sometimes a coin answers a particular concern that many people have at a particular time. If you look at Bitcoin cash, it is technically a simple alt coin, but because of its purpose and timing it immediately took off.
