I agree, people think that you need to show proof of your birth certificate or something to play, it is a simple verification that you pass and its fine. I guess it is the fear that one day yo ucould be asked and this could have some governmental backing that will put you in trouble that makes them stay away from the place. I am fine with it because for me it is not illegal, I mean it technically could be, but I am not playing with "real" money based on our laws, hence it is not technically gambling. Laws here see this place, same as playing those slot games on your phone with game tokens, hence I am not worried about KYC anymore, I disliked even hated the decision to ask it, but I got used to it.

there are many minors who are playing and for this reason they do not like KYC, there are many people who do not have their own home and who are still at their parents' house even though they are minors and for this reason there is no way to deliver proof of residence because the water, electricity and internet bill is not in their name, there are many people who are afraid to hand over their passport on a strange website. That's why KYC is a big headache for most people, especially when we know that many casinos have anonymous owners so it wouldn't be fair for an anonymous casino to ask their customers for KYC.
The good thing about asking for a birth certificate or proof of service is to make sure of that, that it is not children who are in front of the PC, lately the world has been in a very digital axis, children have more access to internet tools, perhaps the pandemic has brought you to this world, although this means that we are in a process of protecting children, it is something that we all must sometimes accept for the common good, in my personal opinion, I have seen many programs where they deceive children, they end up being extorted, raped and sometimes killed, I prefer to give a KYC if this helps to avoid all this type of events, if we see it from that point of view, I know that many could make the exception.

Proof of service or birth certificate still cannot ensure that the person sitting behind the PC and playing gambling is an adult. For instance, if parents want they can provide all this kyc stuff and then give their children access to their screen/PC to gamble. In this case, you can still not avoid minors from playing gambling.
The only way to stop them is to force them to turn on their camera while playing, but why casinos take this hassle when parents themselves allow kids to play gambling.

^^ The way Root and Bairstow were playing even 500 looked reachable. Wish this was 5 test match series, would have been much better.

If there were more test matches, India would have shown much better performance and I wouldn't be surprised if they would have won a few matches too. The innings that Root and Bairstow played were one of unique innings and we don't expect the same performance to be repeated in every match. I would say England has a better fate in this match and they were lucky that they won the match. Anyways England has won this very important match.
183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: July 03, 2022, 04:53:00 PM
You lose almost 70 overs in 2 days but still can't start match half n hour early just to make it up?

No, they can't because this match is happening in England and England is losing this match.
The lesser the overs, the better for England team.

India right now is favorite to win this test as they have lead of 189 runs and still 8 wickets in hands. We have 2 days of play still left. If India can take lead till second session of 4th days play and allow England to play 4 sessions then India clearly have a chance.

I agree with you as India are 209 runs ahead with more than 2 days still to go. The only thing which can save England is the rain and bad weather. Looking forward for the thunderstorms  Wink
184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Asian Cup 2023 Prediction and Discussion on: July 03, 2022, 08:03:31 AM
I agree if you compare that Japan and Korea are not as good as European teams, but aren't we here discussing the Asian Cup and not the World Cup?
So it's unethical to compare the continents of asia and europe unless you are in the world cup thread, if you follow the 2002 world cup for sure you will find how japan was able to advance to the round of 16 at that time and while korea make surprised for everyone by being in the semifinals, in my opinion There are a lot of great Asian players nowadays who are able to compete with European players so you shouldn't say that Asia is long lagging behind in terms of football, besides if you say Asian people have no interest in football, you should do your research again before you say it.
If there was no interest and craze for football in Asia, we would never be having the Asian cup.  Tournaments like these will give a lot of boost to the Asian teams and in the coming years, we may see the Asian teams giving tough competition to the European and the American teams.
Yeah, i also remember the 2002 world cup and it was one of the best world cup for the Asians. Thoroughly enjoyed the performance of the host nations Japan & Korea in that world cup.
I thought you two were joking when mentioned the Korea team in the 2002 world cup, talking about how great the Korean team is. Did you watch and know how controversial the matches between Korea vs Italy and Korea vs Spain? Korea today is a great team, don't get me wrong. Korea today is a mile different compared to Korea in 2002. But back then at 2002 world cup, Korea's level was below both Italy and Spain, I mean way below so they have to use a lot of dirty tricks, advantages in home or even accused of bribing the ref to win those matches, against Italy and Spain. You can look it up, watch replay footage or asking any Italian or Spanish posters in bitcointalk to verify all I said above.
My analysis was based upon the results where South Korea defeated Italy in the round of 16 and later defeat a strong Spain team in the quarterfinals of 2002 world cup.  I did not take into account the drama which was created after these two matches. Well, if the Korea both wins were fixed, then why did they lose to Germany in the semi finals. My point is that even if they cheated to reach the Semi-finals, you need to be a good team to beat Italy and Spain even with the help of umpires.

In 2002, Spain and Italy squads were very strong. I don't think the Korean team has beaten Spain and Italy just by cheating. Korea played well, luck helped them. Since it is not proven that Korea cheated, I do not support it. However, compared to the team of 2002, the current Korean team is very organized and strong. So let's forget about the past and discuss how the Korean team will perform in the future.

Yeah, we are discussing 2002 event which was 20 years back and is no more relevant. Korea team has come out as a good team and the current team is far better than the one we had in 2002. Its interesting to see how they will perform in the Asian cup but before that we may evaluate their performance in the world cup later in this year.
185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: July 03, 2022, 05:00:57 AM
Their top batting order has been destroyed by the Indian bowlers, they are still trailing by 332 runs and have already lost 5 wickets. I hope they form a partnership otherwise this match will be go in favour of the Indian side.
You are expecting an almost impossible scenario. Bairstow and Stokes are their last pair of proper batsmen and they will buckle due to heavy pressure.

It will take a miracle for them to try and defeat India at this stage. Bumrah and Siraj will continue ripping through their batting order in my opinion. I feel that India has already won the test series at this point.

Yes, Indians are way ahead in this test match and 90% chances are that they will win it easily unless we see a miracle from here. The only hope for the England team is to save the follow on which seems quite impossible.

A poor and disappointing performance by the England team. I wasn't expecting them to bat like that. Don't expect that Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes can recover from here. There is too much pressure now.

188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we gradually approaching towards the end of Bitcoin? on: June 29, 2022, 11:59:25 PM
Let me introduce another variable. Maybe it's a gradual end of BTC, but in a way that something else takes it place. Like it happened with social media (and is happening still). BTC might not go away completly, and still stay as a store of value, but something else takes the top spot.

However this might happen in future but currently this seems not to be the case. Bitcoin is most decentralized across all the digital currencies and it will remain to the king of cryptocurrencies.
189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Newbies: Don't panic and learn to hold on: June 29, 2022, 05:30:07 PM
I think this topic is worth to remind again for many newbies who panic about the current situation where Bitcoin price $30K strong resistance now drop to $24K currently traded. There are many so called expert who always predict Bitcoin price will go to x, the bottom is x etc, also one of them were offer to give his money to everyone if his prediction gone wrong, this strategy is to convince newbies to believe his words.

Not only newbies but the old investors also get panic seeing prices of bitcoin below 20,000$. More panic is being created by crypto related news sites which can more negative news shaking the confidence of the bitcoin holders. In these times, we need someone to keep reminding us that we have to stay strong and threads like this really help us to stay focused and not get involved in panic selling.
190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can You See Or Tell If A Fight Or Event Is Fix ? on: June 29, 2022, 05:13:01 PM
It is super hard to dictect a fixed match or a fixed fight  because the two parties involved won't open up and tell anyone, they will keep it to themselve,.The only thing that will make you want to suspect is when there is a kind of slowness in the fight,or in football, they give unnecessary coners or penalties that will lead to goal. But I can conclude that when games are fixed, the both parties or team usually end up in a draw.

in recent years the most common way of identifying manipulated games or Fix is paying attention to the attitudes of the referee of the game, the referees are the guys who are manipulating the games, they receive money to favor a certain team, it is true that with the technology that is being implemented in soccer it is increasingly difficult for games to be manipulated and the referees have not had much space to favor a certain team, but the same cannot be said in sports and fights, especially those fights that involve famous fighters and which are fights scheduled many months in advance

I doubt referees can play a part in match fixing. The reason is that even if the referee makes the wrong decision, in most games, it can be challenged by the third umpire or camera umpire.
Usually, the players are involved in match fixing. If you see the under performing without any reason, you can get the hint of match fixing.

I then decided to take a loan

If i was at your place, i would not have taken loan to buy bitcoin but i won't say that you took a wrong decision. The only reason i like your decision is that you bought bitcoin at lowest prices and there is very likely that bitcoin will keep going up from this point.

I always heard that taking loan to buy crypto is not a good decision but now after seeing your story i am tempting to get a loan too for myself and buy bitcoin. Should i also do the same?
192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: THIS CRASH IS DIFFERENT than previous crashes... The FEDERAL RESERVE is why.... on: June 29, 2022, 03:34:31 PM
I'm not an economist, but I still think that the "value" of something is what people are willing to pay for it at the moment. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

You could resell a loaf of bread if you want and maybe make a profit.  You could also eat your loaf of bread if you do not want to re-sell it.

What would you do with your bitcoin if you could never sell it    Huh    NOTHING    That means it has zero intrinsic value.  The only value that Bitcoin has is what some greater fool will pay for it.

What if the situation never comes where there is no one willing is willing to buy? What if the buyers and demand increase every passing year and you keep on dreaming that one day no one will be able to sell. bitcoins.

You are calling a bitcoin buyer a fool, while one day you will realize that those who do not have bitcoins are bigger fools.
193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ignore the dip and Invest in Bitcoin for long term on: June 29, 2022, 03:03:16 PM
Not going to ignore the dip because its what gives opportunity to buy bitcoin lower and lower as it dips. It all depends on the type of trader that you are. Some do short term trading/investing while some do long term. It's just to stick to what works for you.

Yes, rightly said why ignore the dip? Rather we should wait for the dip to buy bitcoin at cheap prices. The current bitcoin prices are the cheapest to invest for the mid to long term. Only a year ago, people used to say that they will buy bitcoin of it reaches 20K again. Today, the price is again 20,000$ but most of them are still not buying and they consider that even 20K is a high price for bitcoin. These people never buy bitcoin as they just keep on waiting forever.
Buy now else you will regret it when you will see bitcoin reaching all time high again in 1-3 years.
194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Asian Cup 2023 Prediction and Discussion on: June 29, 2022, 02:04:12 PM
I don't usually watch Asian teams besides World cups although World cups clearly shows Japan and South Korea are the strongest teams in Asia. They have many familiar players from European leagues in general. On the other hand Australia (ever since they joined Asia instead of Oceania) can also be competitive in this tournament. Iran may also achieve good positions.
It is sad that China is not doing good in football yet still with a billion population.

Japan and Korea are not the best of the football teams when you compare them with the Europeans and south Americans teams. Also China, India, Iran, Saudi Arab hasn't make any impact. I wonder why the Asian teams are not so strong as compare to the rest of the world?

Maybe the hot weather in Asia is not suitable for the football game or there can be any other reason? Lack of interest in this sport  Huh
195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 29, 2022, 01:41:39 PM
Frankly, it is quite sad that the majority of the names that can make difficulties for Djokovic in the Wimbledon can't go on in the tournament anymore. Even though Rafael Nadal won yesterday, he started to perform badly after the middle of the 3rd set. However he still managed to recover. I hope that he doesn't experience this kind of performance drops a lot. If Nadal also says goodbye to the tournament in some way the quality of the tournament would decrease on a large scale compared to the previous years.

Do you think that if Nadal loses at some point in this tournament, Djokovic will be the clear favorite to win this year title also ?

I am currently watching the match between Djokovic  and Kokkinakis. Djokovic  is showing his class in the match and have won the set easily 6-1 and also looking strong in the second set 4-2.
196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: June 29, 2022, 02:43:17 AM
Such an entertaining innings by Paul Stirling, but he got out when Ireland needed him to stay. Balbirnie is struggling out there and if the remaining Irish batsmen can't score runs quickly, then the match will rapidly drift out of their control. But still, during the initial powerplay, Ireland scored a massive 73 runs in 6 overs. Now they lost another wicket, as Gareth Delany got out trying for a single that was never there. Ireland need to convert their good starts to good finishes. Else they will remain at the second tier test system for infinite amount of time.

Edit: Balbirnie hits 50, after struggling a lot.

225 runs chase will never going to be easy for Ireland. They did play a few very good overs but to keep the pace for full 20 overs is difficult for a small team like Ireland. Now they need almost 12 runs per over for the next 9-10 overs which is quite an impossible task for the Ireland batsmen. Both the openers Paul Stirling and Andy Balbirnie are out and two new batsmen at the crease now make the task more difficult against the Indian bowlers.
Its a big score but they are fighting really hard tho.

They need 34 runs in 14 balls and it's possible in T-20. I felt that they are only relying on sixes, boundaries but not successfully rotating the strike it happened with the Irish openers specially Balbirnie and rest of the batters also doing the same. This is okay in small ground like this one but not successful strategy overall.

29 off 11 now so it's going down the wire.

-----------
Uff so close, hard luck for Irish team and big relief for youngster Malik.

I will give full marks to the Ireland team for showing some amazing performance and lost only by 4 runs. Hard Luck. They needed 17 off the last over and at the end of the day a boundary was the difference between winning and losing.
On the other hand, it was a sign of relief in the Indian camp as they managed to write in the history 2-0 to Ireland.
197  Economy / Speculation / Re: Was $17.5K the low? on: June 28, 2022, 06:58:26 PM
4/22 of the people participating in the poll still seem pretty sure that $17.7K is a low point. While the other 15 are still thinking about other lows (myself included). Although since hitting $17.7K we've seen a bit of a price recovery, it's still pretty convincing that another low will be hit so I think the current poll results are pretty reasonable. While the poll won't be of much help, it's just an idea of what traders believe in these volatile market conditions.

When bitcoin hit 17.5$, it cannot go further straight down and there was always a chance of pullback. In event of a market dump, there is always a relief rally. We are seeing the price is hovering between 20-21K for last few days but unable to stay above 22-23K. This means that people are still not confident to buy bitcoin now and perhaps we may see bitcoin dumping again. If this happens, it won't be good for bitcoin and we may see more blood in the market.

199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is it so hard to win at gambling? on: June 28, 2022, 05:51:49 PM
Hello good day to all the members in this forum, Did you know that even if you win at gambling, you lose as well? Don't you think that's how it happened? and that’s the thing that I'd like to tackle about this topic, Because it’s hard to win at gambling, now if you want to know why? Join the conversation here.

Very simple answer to this question. If winning in gambling was too much easy then every gambler would have been a millionaire and all the casino would be bankrupt.

When you lose in gambling, it's the casino that gets your money. When you win in gambling, you get the casino's money. So if the gamblers win often then these casinos will be shut down as it will not be profitable for them to run this business.

Norrie is an obvious pick, had him weeks ago on scanner, and now it seems that SF is an easy target for him

but yeah, this one does seem as Djokovic - Nadal in final, let's see Nadal today

FAA is having Nadal on his SF way, but will interesting who will pass from Berrettini quarter - Shapovalov could be the one, but basically anyone can enter SF from that quarter

With Nadal there is also a factor of health. We don't have any idea about his condition - we only know it is deteriorating more rapidly recently.

If he is healthy he should reach the final - but on grass and on an off day against a good server I can see him dropping out if he is not physically at 100%.

Just curious to know What happened to Nadal?
By the way, he just won the first two sets round match against Cerundolo 6-4, 6-3 and was looking in good form too.
Anyways this covid thing has badly affected the tournament and we will miss some key players this season.
