1161  Other / Meta / Re: 10th anniversary art contest price now worth 57k (from 7.7k) on: March 27, 2021, 08:35:09 AM

Hodlers are those who have enough, bitcoin BTC is money and not a property unless you don't have bills to pay. I receive, I spend, I buy, I repeat again.

What would you gain If you hodl all your bitcoins and die the next day? Nothing. You only cause scarcity which increases the price of Bitcoin BTC... That's a win-win for bitcoin.

For a moment forget about bitcoin or fiat. People keep on hold and save money for the future and while doing so they  exclude that they are going to die one day or next day. if people start thinking about this, everyone would spend money, help the needy one and the world would be a better place. But this is not what is happening in reaily.

Now, since people save money (Fiat), they save bitcoin too but advantage of keeping bitcoin over fiat is that bitcoin will gain value over time while fiat will lose value over time.

So if you hold bitcoin and forget about the death ( Not spend the winning amount in art contest),  you could have gained much more. The reason i pointed out was that people don't visualize the future and think that if they cash out at 50,000K, they are in profit while they could have waited to cash out in 2025 at perhaps 1,000,000$.

1162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to find coins to be listed on famous exchangers? on: March 27, 2021, 08:05:37 AM
recently we can see projects listed on famous exchangers like Binance marked huge hike before list on the exchange. I think it's a good strategy to invest. is there any way to identify projects, which going to be listed on famous exchangers soon as possible?

No exchange will tell you before that they are going to list these coins way before the listing. Usually they will announce to list a coin with 24-48 hrs.
The best way to know about the listing is to join the exchanges official twitter account. As soon as they announce on twitter  you will get an alert and can buy that coin instantly at the exchange it is available at that moment.

I am following this strategy. Since i am only interested in coins which are about to be listed in binance, i have joined binance and CZ Binance official twitter links so i can react on their posts. The important thing is that you should have already funds in the exchange where you are willing to buy the potential coin because soon after the announcement the coin pumps hard.

Get ready for brand new posts asking about changes in Bitcointalk. Like “What’s happening to my profile?” “Anyone noticed this?” Type of thread. Lol.

That's gonna be interesting. I can't wait to see what theymos has in his plan for 2021 April Fool.  Smiley
Last year it was about virus as we were suffering from pandemic. This year we are in a bull run so what can we expect  Grin
1164  Other / Meta / Re: 10th anniversary art contest price now worth 57k (from 7.7k) on: March 27, 2021, 05:34:11 AM
BTCThat's why it's call internet magic money.
Year 2025 the 10th anniversary award of 1BTC at $7k is now worth $1m.

It only depends if those rewards receiver keep the money save and do not spend. I know most of them would have spend the bitcoin in 2019 and may not be holding those bitcoin in 2021 or 2025.

No, it’s 1 BTC

Yes, 1 BTC is always equal to 1 BTC no matter in bitcoin is worth 10K or 1M Dollars Smiley
1165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: bsctalkforum can be compared to this forum on: March 26, 2021, 10:20:21 AM
I recently came across a binance smart chain forum called bsctalkforum https://bsctalkforum.com/forum/. For sure, they took this idea of domain name from bitcointalk. I wonder if in future they make develop a forum which is of the same level and popularity as bitcointalk  Huh

First of all this is not an official binance smart chain forum. If this was the case, then we would have heard it about it from CZ. Also then binance would make it much popular but this is not the case. Also if you visit the forum, its not so much active as i see only few topics and replies. So don't think of any forum which can be comparable to bitcointalk forum.
1166  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion about Merit Pop up on: March 25, 2021, 05:16:52 PM

However, 0 is an invalid merit value to transfer. Additionally, I often write 1 and see "10" as a result, because i forgot to delete zero (I never clicked ok after that, thankfully).

I suggest that this default value is changed to 1, which is the most common merit value transacted. This will also avoid mistakes like sending 10.

Since we all are in the bitcoin forum and are used to send bitcoin and satoshi,s to other addresses. If this forum was not about cryptocurrencies, then i could have thought that someone might do this mistake but i do not expect anyone to do this mistake. If we can't double check the number of merits to send, how can we double check the sending bitcoin address and the amount of bitcoins to be send (one less zero can result in a big loss of money).

1168  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is a game of capital on: March 21, 2021, 06:53:00 AM
You can trade crypto futures and even use leverage so it is very possible nowadays. I think trading capital ultimately depends on the trader and how much they are willing to lose per trade.

With futures trading you can trade with more capital which you have but the future trading is also risky and it can make your portfolio to zero if the trade gone wrong.
Better to do spot trading with low capital and slowly grow your trading portfolio.
1169  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How did people buy bitcoin and other cryptos back in the old days? on: March 21, 2021, 06:21:28 AM
Like around 2011 to 2015? Before it became available on major exchanges?

We know that there was no binance at that time but there were other exchanges like Mt Gox and later poloniex was one of the biggest crypto exchange.
People use to buy/sell bitcoin and altcoins on these exchanges. Today there are so many exchanges for the spot (https://www.coingecko.com/en/exchanges) , dex (https://www.coingecko.com/en/dex) and derivatives (https://www.coingecko.com/en/exchanges/derivatives).
1170  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have a relatives who ask advise to invest, what should I do? on: March 21, 2021, 06:09:25 AM
I just want to share my experience, I have a relative who come to me and ask advise on what coins to invest now, I don't name a coin and I said he must do his research but he insist that I know, he want to invest immediately.

I know he is into FOMO because he seems so aggressive and like to get instant return.
He told me that since I'm a veteran, he would like to ask some advise on what coins will pump in the coming days so he can invest on it.

I knew he is so positive, and I can feel him since I also got FOMO'd before.

What do you think should I do guys? how can I help him?

Obviously, if you advice him not to invest in bitcoin, then you are not giving good advice. You should tell him that there is no need of fomo and the return on investment will not be instant. Also you should tell him that be prepared that after his buying, the market may dump. If he want to invest for long term, then he will never have the loss.
1171  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price would hit $288,000 this year, according to this metric on: March 21, 2021, 05:52:10 AM
In the middle of the bull market, the big question of the moment is what price bitcoin (BTC) will reach in the coming months. And for the creator of the Stock-to-Flow or Reserves vs. Flow prediction model, by December we could be seeing the main cryptocurrency around $288,000.

Its important to realize that bitcoin will hit any price between 100K - 300K. If you have this vision, you will not end up selling at 50K, 60K or 90K. If you sell at these levels you will regret when bitcoin will be parabolic at the end of this cycle.

Assuming you has adding faucet in the next update, what can player play with their faucet claiming? Because the minimum tickets cost 10,000 satoshi. Does people can claiming faucet until 10,000 satoshi to buy tickets for free?

If not, it will be useless since the faucet can't be used for anything in your casino.

They also have the wheel of fortune game (https://oneluckynickname.fun/the-wheel/) where i hope the faucet money can be used but i think they need to promote their site ether by giving some free giveaways or starting some campaigns. We have seen in the past as new gambling sites gives a lot of exposure once they start their marketing campaigns.
1174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter hackers pleads guilty and agree to a 3 year in prison on: March 21, 2021, 03:21:54 AM
I'm pretty sure that the Twitter hack is still fresh in our memory, this is high profile because it involves a lot of crypto exchanges like, @coinbase, @Gemini, and @binance and then celebrities, @JeffBezos, @BarackObama, @elon_musk, @JoeBiden, @BillGates, and @WarrenBuffett.

And Graham Ivan Clark was charge last year and now agreed on Tuesday to be sentenced as a youthful offender to three years in prison, + three years of probation.

Here are the official docs: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/20515610-plea-agreement-acknowledgment-of-waiver-of-rights-bc-6f018852-673e-4df1-85da-4c5629856265

https://www.sao13th.com/2021/03/prosecutors-reach-plea-agreement-in-case-of-twitter-hacker-graham-clark/ (please note that access might be block for some region due to security reasons).

What are your thoughts of the sentencing? he has served seven months already of the three years sentenced on him.
3 years wasn't Enough for His actions , 3 years imprisonment when hacking even a Former president ? this must be a criminal case as disrespect to the people they are hacking .
If i were to decide? even 10 years is not enough for hackers , They must be sentenced at least 20 years and uo,
So no one will follow their Path and Hacking will eventually lessen and lessen and they in future will totally Gone because of the strict rules and sentenced .

There should be a proper law for this and the consequences should be defined. When people know that they will get a life time prison they will not try to do these shameful cheap acts. Many times these hackers get away because no one is able to trace them but lucky this time we know the person who did this.
1175  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for a job on: March 21, 2021, 03:04:49 AM
let me know if you can give me a job, im free and hv internet connection

It's good to see that there is progress in your thinking, from looking for donations to looking for a job Smiley

i wish someone donate bitcoin to me  Cry

Still, who will give you a job if you haven't even at least roughly described what you can do - it's like throwing an empty hook and hoping to catch a fish. What is especially striking (at least to me), is that you promote a text spinning tool, and we know who usually uses it, and that plagiarism has a zero tolerance rate on the forum.

Donation is for some noble cause which is not bad indeed but asking for money comes under begging. It always better to work n earn, rather than asking others for money. However for earning money, you need to have skill and if he do not have skill, then there are many micro tasks like faucets available which consumes a lot of time and give low return.
1176  Economy / Speculation / Re: I think it's time to go Short on Bitcoin on: March 21, 2021, 01:33:56 AM
What happen with short position, keep away from liquid calling because bitcoin yesterday and now keep raise to higher price, without any good news bitcoin keep reach higher price from $50,000 and now become fantastic with price above $55,000 early close with $60,000. But how bitcoin keep stronger raise to higher price or shortly will correction.

You short the bitcoin in a bull market and you will get rekt. Sometimes the indicators also show that bitcoin is going to dump and by shorting it you can get good profit. But as soon as bitcoin start to dump, the buyers jump in and keep buying every dip and push the price up. Its better only to long bitcoin or wait for an opportunity to long.

1178  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you trust the co-vid19 vaccine ? on: March 20, 2021, 01:15:15 PM
Everybody trusts the vaccine. The difference is that some trust it to do good, and some trust it to do bad. Everybody, by this time, trusts that it will make people a little sick for a day or two at least. Most people by this time trust that a few people will die from it. As this stuff happens and comes out into the open, people are wondering what the odds of their own death by vaccine will be.

Check the many links in the article at the website.

India's 18 Men Squad ODI team against England.

-Prasidh Krishna got call due to good domestic season.
-Surya Kumar Yadav another good addition.
-Good to see Bhuvi in the final list.

Manish Pandey, Mayank Aggarwal, Samson, Shami (recovery) Jadeja (recovery), Bumrah (leave) and Saini are missing out.

Bumrah and Pandey will be missed by indians in the series. However it a good opportunity for Krishna and Surya Yadav to proof themselves in the tournament and make a permanent spot in the national team.
1180  Economy / Economics / Re: $69 Million Beeple Art Buyer Revealed as NFT on: March 19, 2021, 07:16:50 AM
If money laundering was not an issue, many people would admire such great work from both artists and the NFT. However, it is hard to believe such artwork worth so much money like that. There is no point wasting their money unless buyer is absolutely a crypto enthusiast

Anyway, congrats to the man for having pieces of art that create impact on the digital world

The concept of NFT is gaining hype and the artists can take full benefit of this situation. they can create and sell their NFT paintings and get good reward for them. NFT is the best decentralized platform to buy/sell unique artworks through crypto currencies.
