1101  Other / Meta / Re: Account hacked on: November 14, 2022, 02:13:21 PM

According to https://ninjastic.space/user/Maxre?addresses, you've posted few Bitcoin and Ethereum address to participate on signature campaign and bounty. Perhaps you could sign message from one of those address and hopefully moderator/admin will help.
Yeah he can recover the account in case he can sign the message with those addresses to prove ownership of the account.

In my opinion, that thread should be one thread every member who has crossed the newbie status should take seriously. People shouldn't wait until their account is hacked before they do the needful of simply staking their BTC address there. OP should find a way to sign a message from either of the two accounts user rat03gopoh linked their hacked account and that should be able to solve his hack issue.
If he can sign message with those addresses he can get the access of the account back but most newbies are not familiar with it unless they face the similar issues but they need to check for these thread themselves or say have work around the forum to explore these kind of threads for help in future.
1102  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Recent events should make you withdraw all your coins to your own wallet: Part 2 on: November 14, 2022, 02:00:35 PM
Another bump. Read this thread from bbc.reporter: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5419386.0

FTX is looking like it is in a precarious situation. Reports arose which showed that FTX was artificially inflating its balance sheet with its own token which was being printed out of thin air. Binance heard about this so decided to liquidate all their holdings to protect themselves. This caused the token price to plummet, as well as the amount of token held in reserve on FTX to plummet. This his resulted in lots of users trying to withdraw their coins from FTX, and now FTX have been delaying and staggering withdrawals because they can't keep up. Looks like they are on the verge of a bank run and/or the verge of their token dumping to worthlessness.

If for some crazy reason you are still trusting these centralized platforms to hold your coins after the number which have collapsed in recent months, then time to get your coins off of FTX and in to your own wallets. Now. Best case scenario and this is all unfounded, then you have lost nothing by withdrawing your coins.
There is plenty of information or say awareness thread regarding not to hold you coins over these CEX but still people prefer to go this way and then regret losing funds whenever the exchange goes bankrupt but in actual the people will be the real victim losing funds and they will be covering their personal loss with your funds.

The recent meltdown of FTX has summed up why these big exchange is also prone to high risk and your entire networth could be gone in seconds with these situations coming up.They were holding the asset reserve in their native token FTT and after the CZ decided to sell his stake of 10% in FTX and he got paid off in FTT which he stated selling while the balance sheet got leaked which states they were maintaining reserve with 1:1 ratio in FTT only.People got panicked and started selling and FTT token wasn't able to match the reserve funds while withdrawal got stuck and rest is well known how the market reacted towards it viping billion dollars out of market.

So now there are these reports stating that SBF planning to flee to Dubai and what else do you expect them to do afterwards? They are under supervision but will people get their funds back? No so your thread clearly summaries why should we always avoid keeping funds over these exchanges as Not your keys, not your coins

Keep funds in your custody if you can always and don't trust these CEX...
1103  Other / Meta / Re: Not Your Keys Not your Coins Banner Needed Everywhere? on: November 14, 2022, 01:44:16 PM
Agree on this part that there can be an warning or say more of advice to the members through these banners on the important announcement section or as a pop up when you login on the forum explaining them the potential damage of holding your funds over these exchanges that can help them through understanding that if they are not in possession of their keys they don't have control over the funds.

But there's already a suggestion @theymos here    in which he has said about a thread in Important announcement section which would be cool to have but rest will be dependent on people as if they are interested in it or still prefer the old way of losing funds.

The risk of holding your coins over these exchanges is well known moreover you have to go through KYC norms also exposing your personal information to them which is later on sold on dark web so ending up your privacy as well so why are we still using up them to hold our coins with their custody?

The upcoming world cup is event for lot of bets and we will see huge wagering around at that time and this new promotion is cool but I would say that you would have to win atleast 6 matches but this will work better if you place multiple bets as it's hard for particular team to win 6 matches. But will see my favourite team to bet upon on this event and spare $30 for it.

Exactly but if you put your money on the group favourites which most of the times will win all the group stage games then that would have been 3 games won already so another 3 along the way to the final. Aside from that, if we think of this promotions as an extra then its a pretty good deal because everyone loves betting outright on World Cup winner
That's the case but see the thing is if you are wagering over three or say more teams in order to improve your chances of winning you would have to bet $30 for each of them which is little bit more according to me compared to your free bets for each match. But if you think in different way like you are wagering for fun then it's good promotional event to bet upon.
1105  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: November 11, 2022, 02:50:56 PM

It is an interesting promotion but some other sites offer similar promotions that are more interesting. On some sites, you only need to bet 20$ and you get a 5$ freebet per every match your team wins. Hopefully we will continue to have a lot of nice promotions during the world cup.
But keep in mind that you need to first bet $30 and then 6 winning matches will cover your bet only and from the next match if your choosen team win will take you into profit scenario of $5 only but as a small gambler you see $30 is also a big amount to be wagered single handily taking the risk also. But will see how many players bet upon it with upcoming fifa this time.
1106  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: November 11, 2022, 02:41:13 PM
Okay so the team need to look into this matter and respond it to solve the complaint or would say if @Hhampuz can intervene in the case to resolve it because the official team account is dormant and have not posted over a year but this needs to be settled.
1107  Other / Meta / Re: Save your nice merit records here - LAST UPDATE: 08/08/2022 on: November 11, 2022, 02:27:46 PM
Thanks to @Babo I finally got to 11,111 merits!
Congratulations our Italian bitcoin geek for achieving this another milestone on the forum setting one more achievement mark for others and in top 3 merit earners over the forum.

It's hard to believe for many that how fast you have managed to reach this mark as within 3 years and 9 months you have earned 8200 merits with average merit of 5 per day which is remarkable.Just presenting some stats on your journey.Once again congratulations to you on this journey.

Was missing this thread for quite a few time but will try to keep an eye on some cool record to save it here.
1108  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A lil trouble in staking an address on: November 11, 2022, 02:12:26 PM
If you are having any trouble in signing the message then you can have a look at this thread for any kind of assistance as there is information for different wallets and step by step guide for it.

Nobody downloads Mycelium from the official website, it's in the Play Store. But Mycelium isn't the best choice for this, I've seen messages signed by Mycelium that can't be verified.

TL;DR solution: Electrum > Tools > Sign message.
Yeah most of user sign message with Electrum wallet to verify it and you are right on the part that the app is available on play Store and App store where you can download it easily rather then falling for scam links in order to scam you of funds.
1109  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 🖤 - Road to Riches raffle taking you to Las Vegas! ✈️ on: November 10, 2022, 01:38:11 PM
Hey guys,

What a night for crypto yesterday! I believe most of you around here keep your BTC or other currencies in your wallets anyway. But what do you think about the impact of this?

-Karl
The market at this time is really bad and haven't expected this current dump but holding on my coins at this time in my wallet even more strongly with patience as we have seen $16k already but I would say accumulating some funds in stacking some sats more to hold for long term as it will take time but profits and return will be shown in wallets after few years.
1110  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question about forum discussion on: November 10, 2022, 01:20:25 PM
I've read a lot of posts and comments on this forum in the past few days but I saw few posts or replies saying "this have been talked about many times before " ,as a fresh forum user like me how will I know if something like that have been discussed before?
If you want to check if the discussion has been made earlier also then you can search across the forum but don't use forum search as it would come up with messed up results that you will find hard to sort out and be confused so I would suggest you to use direct google search for finding if a topic has been discussed before or not and you can check it in the following manner

Code:
 Who is satoshi bitcointalk
How to make tables bitcointalk
The FTX crash in the market

This way you can check if the discussion has been made or if you can then explore Ninjastic.space to check for the new and old threads in the forum.

Also is it wrong for someone else to discuss what a person have talked about before?
No, it's not a problem and there are many threads in which past discussion are also made but the point you are providing or discussing must be relevant but if we are discussing the same old thing again and again then it's not a fun and you will understand it once you see those threads.
1111  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: November 10, 2022, 01:07:40 PM
Roobet has special promotions for the upcoming World Cup. Check this Link out

Put $30+ outright bet on the world cup winner and each time your choose country win, you will receive $5 in term of free bet so basically thats 6 times to win to get your bet back so pick one wisely. Brazil, Argentina and Germany is pretty much the top favourites for now
The upcoming world cup is event for lot of bets and we will see huge wagering around at that time and this new promotion is cool but I would say that you would have to win atleast 6 matches but this will work better if you place multiple bets as it's hard for particular team to win 6 matches. But will see my favourite team to bet upon on this event and spare $30 for it.
1112  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Recent event: Stay away from centralized exchanges (FTX, Binance, etc), use DEX on: November 10, 2022, 12:54:44 PM
The fund mismanagement led to this fall as they were keeping up the reserve balance as FTT token and with CZ selling off the stake the news in the market spread out taking the value down for FTT disturbing the whole market and we are again in the red signs and once again this happened with another CEX which has huge volume.

There are many who has lost their networth because of this wipe out as SBF lost 95% of his share and some who has their funds over exchange got stuck as liquidity meltdown they were unable to process the payments and now their funds don't have much value so this is why it's said keep your coins safe with you in hardware wallets or non custodial wallets but as we always see this is happening around with many and people still don't learn from their mistakes and loose funds.
1113  Other / Meta / Re: We should have a "who is satoshi" subforum on: November 10, 2022, 12:37:12 PM
This is one of those request over the forum which don't have any base and need to implement it.Do you recognise that there is new forum software and many important decisions pending by @theymos to be implemented on the forum and you are suggesting another sub forum to carry on pointless discussion about who is satoshi?

Okay what names you suggest that can be potential candidates for mystry man but those who are self proclaimed they are the scammers who will end up bad and you only need to sign message and if you can't do it how in the hell you convince others about the same? We already have hundreds of thread on forum like who is satoshi and all those baseless discussion in them and it's no need to do this so don't waste time on these discussions and keep going the same way.
1114  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 🖤 on: November 09, 2022, 10:50:51 AM

yes I saw also about LFC_Bitcoin, it seems I am also interested in participating in this event, maybe I will create an account for the first time at bitcasino because I am trying to find luck in guessing prices and predicting bitcoin prices, I will see the requirements to join the event  Wink
It's good that you are opening account for these prediction contest and it's fun if you see them and last one @LFC_Bitcoin was lucky to win in both bitcoin and ETH prediction and maybe we soon see another contest on the verge in which many will check their prediction skills in that one also earning some rewards in return but it's more of fun.
1115  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: November 09, 2022, 10:10:53 AM
now under the effective management of @Hhampuz
Yes Of course he is the best manager. And in the list of managers he is on the top. In payments, in selection, and in others work he is doing a great job. Many are there but he is on the top of the list.

And he is running most of the campaigns from this forum.
Yeah he is effectively managing many campaigns under his management on the forum and Roobet and my signature is one of them and have been doing it from many years but as we say about art contest then he is organising them but the team takes decisions which promotional events they should undertake for the community.
1116  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Merit] Share your best posts/threads with Fillippone to be merit assessed on: November 09, 2022, 09:49:37 AM

Thanks for pointing this out.
Let's say I have learned from my errors and I am now using some precautions (Bpip.org browser extension, namely) in the process of giving merits to avoid sending merits to a banned account.

Seems unuseful specifying this in the thread rules.

Yes it's better to check for all the updates before handing out merits to any profile because if you are sending them to banned account it won't help them although you have personally given them merits based on their quality post without even realising they have banned due to some reasons. But as you said it's good idea to check with BPIP extension if the profile is banned or not as you will save your smerits to the deserving and active members without even diluting the whole idea of this thread.
1117  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 🖤 on: November 08, 2022, 12:20:11 PM

Anyone can do wild guess and they can get the same chance of winning to those people who do deep market analysis, this is good things equally anyone can join the fun and they don't need to be an expert and be shy if their targets will not get hit because as said anyone can drop whether its up or down.

Things are heating here so I guess we can see another round of this prediction contest by Bitcasino.
What exactly do we mean by wild guess actually? Some might be doing it like you said say at this time prices are $19k and we have to predict it at the last of the month on 28th then we with wild guess say they will be around $21k or $17k without checking any charts and market analysis but on other hand if we analyse the whole market conditions you would have edge as you can get some idea what direction they can go but it will depend a lot on current and future situation. But will see another round with more participation in them and people trying their speculative approach.
1118  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: November 08, 2022, 12:06:47 PM

I did not know too long about the past campaigns or art contests from casinos. I am only new member and with my limited time here, I only knew what you wrote, Roobet is the first casino runs art contest recent years. Maybe there were other casinos did art contests in the past farther years but I did not know about them.
The campaign is only six months old when you registered on the forum in 2020 as they have been running successfully for 3 years now under the effective management of @Hhampuz but yes they launched the art contest after some time only as you can see they have been running it from 2020 or maybe even earlier also but yes it's fun contest and have not taken part in recent one due to time problem but members like it very much.

1119  Other / Meta / Re: Want to Know on: November 08, 2022, 11:52:24 AM
From what I understand people who don't expect to get paid on this forum are the only ones using caps. And they are busy trying to improve the bitcoin forum. They have no intention of earning Because they use who else and they only aim to improve the forum.
No this is not the case as @Rikafip already told you about this and if your campaign allows you to customise your avatar according to your own preferences then you can have it while some don't allow it.Speaking about hat gang then you can see those who are prominent members in WO thread have these hats as their Avatar but it doesn't imply they are not joining paid campaign.

You can see @fillippone who also has hat on his profile as avatar but he is member of Chip Mixer campaign but they allow to wear any avatar so this is the case as you understand.

But if you want to know the history then you have links above to check and be more familiar with it and know how it all started and they became WO hat gang.
1120  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As a newbie how can i invest in Bitcoin on: November 08, 2022, 11:38:53 AM
Newbie investing bitcoin without proper knowledge of the technology behind it is too risky.
I would say not too important to understand the technical part for bitcoin if you are taking it for investment purposes because it's not easy task to be familiar with technical part or say working of bitcoin with network. For example there are lot of stuff like UTXO,Master key and children keys and other technical stuff which will not be easy to understand by everyone not having technical knowledge.

But yes they should be having knowledge of how to make transactions, which wallet to use like non custodial wallets or hardware wallets or if they want to have bitcoin core download and save their funds in them safely with backup of seeds phrases in proper format which is essential. There are lot of scammers also trying to scam you of funds so always be safe from them by keeping update of the market.

So they should understand that bitcoin is best investment tool to safeguard them against inflation as well and if they hold patiently over time they can surely gain profits out of it without any problem but as you say always DYOR but don't go for altcoins at all which may sound attractive to you but don't have any utility with them and turn you into racks.
