This is typical move of BTCD whenever it wakes up it makes other sleeping. When it broke the trend up I was sure now it will not stop this easily. On the other hand it has been very profitable investment for those who stay silent during its dark days. It is outperforming everything right at the moment.

It will dump as easily as it pumped. BTCD is a dead coin and these kinds of spikes have happened in the past and we all know how they ended up.

I read the whole project was a fake one from the beginning designed to try to capitalise on the free coins generated from the fork and then to dump. Is that true?

Where did you read that? It's not true, BTCD is not a fork of BTC, it exists since 2014 when forks were not fashionable. The devs just moved on to a new Platform/coin named Komodo and a swap took place a couple of years ago to swap BTCD for KMD. BTCD has been officially abandoned when the swap ended, the remaining (unswapped) coins are not movable, so it's just a playground for speculators on Poloniex right now.

We are working on the Chameleon Wallet, which is a redesign of Agama.
Here is a preview:

Nice to see that. Keep up the good work.
Was wondering if it would be possible to have all (non-zero balance) assets that are related to a Komodo address (or multiple addresses) automatically listed in the wallet without having the need to manually add/activate them (as it is the case now with Agama).

The Chameleon wallet will be closed source. In order to generate revenue we will offer it to our clients at a cost. We will use the Agama libs and will maintain them so anyone can fork Agama and use it but they won't be able to fork the Chameleon wallet. ChainZilla will use that revenue to expand and maintain the Agama codebase.

We are researching other functionalities for the wallet such as in-app payments, voting, and a possible Shapeshift-like DEX integration which will be developed after January. In mid-october we will see the first version of the mobile wallet and towards december the full desktop wallet will be released. Those are the estimated timeframes but as always, times can vary.

I hope it will have the functionality to display Komodo assets related to addresses of the wallet natively. Actually, this would be a nice feature to have in Agama (in SPV mode) as well.

I'm not sure what you mean by this but I think you mean that the user is able to login with one seed and see all their Komodo assets. Is that correct?

Yes that's it. In Agama right now, it's not possible, each asset has to be activated manually.

How many coins are needed for a masternode?

There are no masternodes, but there are witnesses. No specific amount of coins is needed to run one of these. Anybody can run one (or many), but users are the ones who choose to add a witness to their list. So to be chosen, you have to somehow campaign to earn the trust of the users so that they add you to their witnesses' list.

Do you think byteball will drop to 30-50 dollars?

Not a chance : byteball will raise.
It's buying time...now :-).

Nothing is impossible, the recent rise was apparently a buy-the-rumor-sell-the-news type of up and down due to GBYTE being on Binance's radar now (I think they will add it at some point without it winning a vote or Tony paying fees). In many cases, the price goes back to where the pump started, it was around $45 for GBYTE, I'm not saying it will but that's a possibility.
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: August 29, 2018, 08:39:31 AM
Well looking at the other coins

Byteball (GBYTE)
Cortex (CTXC)
Everipedia (IQ)
GoChain (GO)
MediBloc (MEDX)

Besides an article about Everipedia the rest seem like not popular coins/tokens so I think Gbyte has a good chance at getting a listing.

Cortex has a market cap of similiar to GBYTE however its not a very popular token from what I recall.

Anyone know when the voting will end for Binance listing?

According to the voting page https://www.binance.com/vote.html: Deadline: 2018-08-31 12:00:00 (the time zone is not specified ...)

Well as it stands, GBYTE does not seem to have a chance of winning the vote. Not an issue imo, sooner or later it will be listed there and elsewhere.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | NEO Smart Economy⚡Now a Top 10 Cryptocurrency⚡| Official Thread |Updated Aug10 on: August 17, 2018, 09:10:37 AM
Is there a problem with the NEO-GUI wallet v2.7.6, for me it has got stuck on block 2623809.

The 'Chain' and 'Index' folders are updating but the block number and 'Transaction History' are not; Transaction History is stuck at '09/08/2018 02:30:03'.

@everyone
NEO network working well now. If anyone has syncing problem(stuck with 2623809), please delete old blockchain data and download latest offline blockchain data package(https://neo.org/client/chain.zip) (MD5 of this chain.zip is 06ea9760c317b3693c758bbc07b0ad96). Resync the blockchain will solve this problem. Also, 2 things have been done to make syncing data more easily.
1. NGD run 10 new seed nodes which have been synced to the latest height to help community node maintainers to connect with.
http://seed1.ngd.network/
...
http://seed10.ngd.network/
Please check this instruction for reference.(http://docs.neo.org/zh-cn/node/cli/seedlist.html)
2. We add a new web page(http://sync.ngd.network/) for people to download offline packages which can be used to boost the syncing process. Later we'll change it to https and add MD5 hash.

My NEO is on the Ledger Nano S. Is it safe during the fork?

Technically, your NEO is on the blockchain, the (encrypted) private keys to access your NEO addresses are on the Ledger Nano S. As long as nobody else gets a hold of your private keys/passwords/seeds/pins your coins are safe.

When the marketing team will start selling the 110k Gbytes allocated to them?

110K has not been allocated to the marketing team. if it had it wouldnt not consist of about 3 people.......

FUD

Reserving ~110,433 GB for the Foundation still leaves about 22% of the total supply on the table. To make sure that we won’t sit back and enjoy our monthly dose of GBYTE turned into USD or EUR we also want to reserve 50% of the total 36 month payroll budget for a long term Motivation Plan for team members and advisors. https://medium.com/byteball/the-future-of-byteball-the-byteball-foundation-cca9d495bf46

nowhere does it saying 110k for marketing. Further it would be sold over a period of years. This stuff is so obvious it makes me question the intelligence of people here

Come on meterse, Guffy is very obviously just using marketing to encompass all the expenses ... No need to be insulting. The constructive answer is simply that the 110K are not for marketing only but for the foundation for various purposes ...

Btw, if anyone wants to track the undistributed funds, here is the address https://explorer.byteball.org/#MZ4GUQC7WUKZKKLGAS3H3FSDKLHI7HFO.

There is something I don't quite understand with the foundation projected expenses, since they were determined in dollars at a given time and then converted to the ~110433 GB, what was the reason why they were not sold at that time to secure the funds once and for all and move on? Those estimations were made with a price of $124 per GB, there was no guarantee whatsoever that the price would stay at those levels, as a matter of fact we are at $48 and there still is no guarantee that a bottom is reached. What would the plan be if the price continues to tank (and it can)? What if the entirety of the undistributed funds are not enough to cover the estimated expenses? Are there plans to use the community fund or to call for donations or something else?

Also, I think the images with quotes that are published from time to time are useless. On one hand, the image doesn't have much to do with the quote, on the other, we can see that the quote is intended to be somehow clever but it actually is not. Maybe they actually have an effect and serve a purpose, I just don't see it and I don't really have a better alternative, just pointing out that I think they don't add value, I may be wrong of course.

All premined was delivered to community as an airdrop after failed ICO.

We raised 1btc and 3 million BellaCoin in an ICO. All were refunded. After that all premined ChessCoin except for 4million Chess reserved for team were delivered through an airdrop. Airdrop joiners had to pay 5Satoshi for 1 ChessCoin to cover fee of running ChessCoin project as early stage.

Isolani159 what is this airdrop you are talking about? I have no memory whatsoever of such a thing, did you do it using another thread? If so, can you give a link please?

I remember ChessCoin going under 10 sats on Yobit at some point, I don't remember if it went to 5 sats though. Are you referring to that as the airdrop?

Edit: I just checked CMC and it did fall down to 4 sats.

And as ZzzzeyeZzzz asked, you said you gave coins to some developer who dumped them on Yobit without your knowledge.

At least clarify the airdrop please. Thx.

Early adopters were extremely benefited with ChessCoin when sometimes Chess reached 400 Satoshi.

Well technically only those who sold benefited ...

Just to be clear, there is no switching or swapping, Chess token will be airdropped to Chess coin holders who register.

We still need a (better) vision concerning how Chess token will work and how it will help Chess coin ...

Isolani159, Have you read this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1510517.msg41165732#msg41165732 or this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1510517.msg41208304#msg41208304?

The way you are doing the airdrop lacks security, privacy and transparency. As said before, a screen shot to prove the balance is not a valid proof, I agree that making a small transaction proves the balance, but that's not necessary if a message is signed (this can be done via the wallet). Well both methods could exist, in either of them a screen shot is not needed.

Also you should make the registered addresses public, that's the least you can do to be taken seriously ... You are claiming that addresses holding 37% of the the circulating supply have registered, how do we know it's true?

Please reconsider, taking the necessary measures to ensure security and transparency should be your top priority and will give you more credibility.

like Western Europe, which is intent on becoming one, large Muslim state

France will switch over to a Muslim majority population at some point.

Just wondering where you guys get the data you are basing these conclusions on. (I'm implying that they are far from accurate Smiley.)

Dump incoming.

SEC delays decision until 21st September, 2018:

While the crypto community largely seems excited at the prospect of a bitcoin ETF, Atlantis Asset Management chief investment strategist Michael Cohn said any approval would be "insane," CNBC reports today.

"Then they're putting a rubber stamp on it as an asset, and I don't think governments want to go there yet. It just seems as though it's not something I'd want to put my clients into in any way, shape or form. You can only be embarrassed," he added.

Just a technicality: That's not the ETF that has made news recently and that everybody seems to be expecting. It is actually said in the article you linked:

Quote
Notably, none of the ETF proposals being postponed are from VanEck and SolidX, which are currently under discussion by the wider crypto community. More than 100 comments have been submitted for that proposal, and a decision may occur as soon as next month.

After last upgrade I found in my wallet new currency- NBT by Nicebytes. What is it?
I can't find any info in OP.

New coin based on the ByteBall platform and smart contracts; with fair system of distribution and clearly defined goals.
Nicebytes (NBT) – is a dual-chain token, that uses directed acyclic graph (DAG) of a Byteball platform and ERC 2 Ethereum protocol

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3428403.0;topicseen
https://nicebytes.org/

Buy and sell NiceBytes (NBT) on YoBit Exchange:
https://yobit.net/en/trade/NBT/BTC
https://coinlib.io/coin/NBT3/NiceBytes

thanks, seems I missed the opportunity to sell, when coins have some value Smiley

So you are saying that it's okay to sell shitcoins knowing that their value has a high chance of going down to 1 sat? It's like selling something in real life knowing that it will vanish after a short time. How can people be okay with that? Or am I missing some angle here?
119  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 17, 2018, 04:41:40 PM

If it's wrong to choose the smiling girl over scowlface, then I don't want to be right.

Sometimes people choose a shitty ass meme to get their point across.

scowlface is clearly making that face cuz her supposed boyfriend is looking at the smiling girl. Under other circumstances scowlface would surely not be scowlface ... The guy isn't looking at the smiling girl cuz she's smiling (he can't see that by the way), neither is he ignoring scowlface cuz she is scowling.

Having said that, I do agree that the meme is, at some extent, not well-suited. Mainly cuz the accurate explanation that's complex is never/hardly at the reach of most of us.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 06, 2018, 07:33:49 AM

yes, imagine doing something like Apple. silly idea

Sorry but no ... You don't do something like Apple just because Apple does it, that's not a valid argument. Apple and Byteball do not target the same kind of users/markets so what works for them doesn't necessary work for everything. Generally (not this specific announcement), announcements of announcements in the crypto community might create hype and may drive up the prices to high (artificial) levels, that's not good since they will fall down aggressively after that in a "buy the rumor, sell the news" type of pump and dump. In the current context (correction/bear) news/rumors may not necessarily have that effect, yet I can't really see a positive side to this. You seem to think announcements of announcements are a good thing in general, if so, can you please explain why you think that? Thank you.
