841  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][rICO]Antshares Blockchain Mainnet is ONLINE! on: December 26, 2016, 05:27:23 PM
ive followed all of the steps including claiming my antshares from the ico website and importing my private key into the wallet but the coins still arent showing up even though i see them on the blockchain

You'll have to wait for your wallet to completely sync before seeing them. If your wallet is already synced then that's very strange. Anyway, I guess since you have your private key and you see your coins on the blockchain, it's gonna work out. And by the way don't forget to back up the private key of the address that was created when you first created your wallet.

When will the ICO start guys? Is this coin dead?

Hey, been a long time since any updates ... I hope the team will give us a summary of the advancement soon (next year I guess).
843  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Byteballs ::: Buying & Selling & Trading on: December 25, 2016, 09:15:53 PM
I know 4 GB were sold at 0.045 btc/ GB, and 7 GB were sold at 0.05btc/GB from what I can see.

Okay, thx for the info, so it seems no large amounts were sold at that rate (yet).
844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Byteballs ::: Buying & Selling & Trading on: December 25, 2016, 09:07:46 PM
Current price trading on slack is around 0.05 btc / GB last trade....

Can you please tell us how many were sold at that rate? Thx.
845  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo ICO - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: December 25, 2016, 01:25:14 PM
Can't wait for KMD to launch! Only regret was not investing during the ICO bonus period Sad

If you have some BTC to invest then you can buy BTCD, the exchange rate that will be applied to swap BTCD for KMD is better than any bonus you could've gotten if you had invested (a small amount of) BTC during the ICO.
846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: December 25, 2016, 01:12:42 PM
need official message snapshot is okay pls.

I'm not official Smiley but for what it's worth, http://transition.byteball.org shows balances from the snapshot and I already moved some BTC. By the way when the page was still updating I remember seeing the linked amount dropping to 5xxxx, so more than 1000 BTC has already been moved. Anyway, an official statement here is always better Smiley.
847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: [Open] eGaaS bounty on: December 25, 2016, 11:26:02 AM

I find this spreadsheet very lolzy Smiley. Between people posting on translators' threads giving some of them tremendous shares, a mix of pre-ann and ann translations, an unfinished last-minute translation and a lion's share more than 54 (3667.91/67.85) times bigger than the smallest, I must say it is quite interesting. I appreciate the sharing though, thx.
848  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Xaurum [XAUR] on: December 25, 2016, 10:52:52 AM
Some xaur were stolen on "YOUR" site and you find it is a reason for stop trades and transactions on all exchanges?? How is it related at all?

Someone dumped a lot of xaur on c-cex recently, guess it was hacker.

Well you just said it, it's to prevent the hacker from dumping more right now (if they didn't dump all of it already...). But unless they locate them and recover the stolen funds (if there are any left), the hacker is bound to dump (what remains) once exchanges enable trading, which they will do sooner or later ...
849  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Xaurum [XAUR] on: December 25, 2016, 10:45:14 AM
We have had a breach in our RICO website, the hacker has stolen customer funds that were still not withdrawn.

Ah, that explains the price action on c-cex some minutes ago.

We will restore the legitimate balance, hopefully soon. We'll keep you updated on the developments.

We apologize for the inconvenience and assure you, that we will solve the problem.

I hope it all works out and wish you good luck.
850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: December 25, 2016, 10:18:58 AM
Anyone took note of the rate at the time of the snapshot? (Or was it mentioned somewhere here and I missed it?). The bot keeps updating the rate/balances so it's not indicative of what to expect when the distribution occurs.
851  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Xaurum [XAUR] on: December 25, 2016, 10:11:05 AM
XAUR/BTC pair just vanished from c-cex, I assume they might be having technical issues, or maybe something else ... because the price was free falling right before it disappeared ...
852  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: December 24, 2016, 10:29:21 PM
What is not fair by getting what you pay for. If I have more money than you and am able to buy something that you cannot or the same amount, why should I take on the burden

In this case you don't pay for or buy anything, you just come to the store and say I'm rich and you get more stuff than if you had said I'm poor ...

In transition.byteball.org when I sort by balances (ascending order) starting from page 11 (when I checked), there seems to be a bug with the shares allocated to the smallest amounts. Maybe the small pockets will get a better share after all Smiley.

2000 transactions for an address.
it's not a private wallet.

It's not, this seems like an ICO address, these addresses are accepted by the bot ...

soo at that time only the snapshot will happen or also instant distribution?

Does anyone know if the distribution will happen automatically just after midnight?

The distribution will take place several hours after the snapshot, as stated in the first post:

I'll announce the exact block number several hours after this block is mined (the waiting time is to exclude the slightest chance of reorg).  The bytes and blackbytes will be sent out in the afternoon of December 25.
854  Other / Meta / Re: Stake your Bitcoin address here on: December 24, 2016, 05:15:22 PM
Stake ONLY the address(es) doesn't proves you're an owner of that address because there are bulk of addresses out there (who knows you're pretending to be an owner of that address?). Sign message is important because it makes us believe you're a real owner of that address (you already know if you want to do sign message you must have an access of that address).

Yes it doesn't prove I'm the owner, but that is not a prerequesite as far as I understand. If I stake any other address, it won't serve any purpose, it won't harm the real owner and it won't enable me to prove ownership if my account gets hacked, so I have no reason to do so ... Let's assume I stake the address of a friend, if I need it, then I'll just ask them to sign a message for me. Owning the address doesn't seem relevant, what's important is to be able to produce a signed messge to claim ownership of the account.

I believe you're a REAL owner of the address (because members staked their address in here are an owner) but hey it takes only a minute and it won't bother you much (You will be raising our trust if you can do that).

Thx for your trust. You're right it does take minutes and it won't bother me Smiley, I was just trying to understand if there was any use of doing that (that I missed). I still don't see why signing a message would be recommended in this context ...

You did me the courtesy of quoting my address, so I'll grant your wish and sign a message Smiley.

Edit: Message signed and post updated.

Can you link multiple BTC addresses to a single Byteball address?

Yes you can, just repeat the process with as many BTC addresses as you want to link.

Transition bot temporarily down?

I'm getting [internal] connection closed when I try chatting with the bot.
856  Other / Meta / Re: Stake your Bitcoin address here on: December 24, 2016, 02:46:41 PM
Quoted .

Thank you sulendra12.

It is recommended to do sign message too.

Mmmm, can you please give me an explanation about why it would be recommended? As I see it, signing a message proves that I hold control over the address right now. If in the future my account gets hacked, or if I lose the private key of the address, no message could be signed and ownership of the account won't be proved, so the purpose of staking is met. I have no problem signing a message, I just want to understand how it would strengthen the process. Thx.

858  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] eGaaS: Electronic Government as a Service on: December 24, 2016, 01:40:58 PM
Before going for second round of ICO getting listed on one of the major exchanges like bittrex will boost the funding.

It seems to me that a second round would be quite troublesome to organize (wheter EGS is already on an exchange or not).

If EGS is on an exhange, EGS price would have to be maintained at a given level that should be higher that what an investor would expect to pay in the second round, otherwise there's no reason for participating in the second round (just buy from an exchange).

If EGS becomes exchangeable only after all the rounds of the ICO are finished then that might be not fair to subsequent rounds investors, because they will surely buy it for more than the first round investors, some of whom will dump at a lower price than second round for instance (which would be still higher the first round).

Any thoughts about that? Can the team give more informations about how they'll organize the next rounds? Thx.

859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Avast detects a virus in blocks folder when downloading the blockchain on: December 24, 2016, 01:22:41 PM
Your better off without AV and stay away from sketchy websites (Porn, Warze, p2p, Streams) keep your system up to date with latest security patches and use a good firewall! even buy a hardware firewall!

I actually never considered having a Windows PC without an Antivirus, I would feel my PC is less secure, I'm not yet ready for that Smiley ... Any advice on an AV that is more privacy-friendly? On a hardware firewall? Thx.

Your download of the blockchain should be on a dedicated pc.

So you don't need a virus program.

Thx for the suggestion, thinking that my PC was quite secure, I didn't really consider that option ... Yet you have a point, a day-to-day PC might not be suited for storing bitcoins no matter how secure (I think) it is ...
860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Fake volumes/trades on (alt) exchanges on: December 24, 2016, 12:34:51 PM
That is a good point and it becomes aligned with my theory that all altcoiners are really bitcoiners. Most of these altcoiners do not withdraw their coins from the exchanges and are always waiting for a good price to to trade them back to bitcoin. So there are only two kinds of people who encourage everyone to hold the altcoin they themselves are holding. A stupid bagholder or a scamming bagholder.

I also believe that all altcoiners are bitcoiners -  though it would be unfair to say all altcoin holders only believe in bitcoin's future. Perhaps the true die hard alts like doge and eth hold only their own currency but when it comes to trading altcoins, I cannot bring myself to believe that the players are anything more than bagholders - stupid or scamming.

These markets (alts and Bitcoin) are so volatile (and manipulated), no one really knows how demand will evolve (and if it really sets the price), so even if one believes in the potential of a crypto (including Bitcoin), they can't know when to buy ... buying and holding the down trend needs a lot of discipline and belief and if one thinks they can sell and buy back cheaper, they're adapting to demand or they might be scamming Smiley. Interseting thought you both got there Wink.

Two things, dev of the coin or a group pumping a particular coin to create volume or wash trading,or the exchanges themselves create fake volumes using their own bot, there are a lot of factors ,even one big whales can create fake volumes you need an eye for details to see this .

What should I be looking for to spot the non-obvious pumps and fake volumes created by big whales?

It's easy if they have access to zero fee. For some exchanges, these whales or pumping groups are not a problem as they generate volume and attract speculators. It is common for exchanges to provide spots to market makers, for example, where the exchange offers zero commission to them.

Okay, good to know.

I'm starting to think that I should stop buying crypto Smiley
