About the BTCD swap: If all the BTCD supply is not swapped by the 15 th of January, there will be a small portion of BTCD (less than 20%, cuz according to bitcoindark.com "over 80% ... has been swapped") in circulation. Indeed, the coin won't be maintained, but if users want to keep the blockchain running they could. This seems to create room for some crazy speculation (very high price due to scarcity), unless of course exchanges unlist BTCD, well it could still be exchanged OTC but I think not being on exchanges will considerably limit the trades, thus helping BTCD to die peacefully. I don't recall having read anything about exchanges stopping BTCD support, I would expect them to do so as BTCD will no longer be maintained but one never knows. Any thoughts/infos? It hasnt been maintained in forever, exchanges still list it and it trades more like 93% has been swapped, estimated 5% lost forever, so maybe 2% left to swap or live on as zombie coin Thanks for the reply. So actually all the more reason for the price of BTCD to eventually skyrocket (and probably dump after that) if they keep it listed. I mean a potential 2% in circulation is almost as scarce as it gets. Don't you think? Would it make sense for Supernet to get in touch with the (four) exchanges listing BTCD ( https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoindark/#markets) so that once BTCD can't be swapped anymore, they delist it? (Of course this won't matter if all of it is swapped.)

Hi devs. Airdrop GBYTE for hold not work anymore? I not recived bytes in December
Airdrops are paused for the time being. The last one was November's, potentially the next one may happen on the day of the full moon of March. Here is Tony's post about it: An update about future distribution plans.
So far, bytes were mainly distributed via airdrops to holders of BTC and Bytes, and a relatively small portion was distributed through the cashback program. We started this free distribution with the purpose of getting the currency as wide spread as possible, and while the purpose stays the same, methods can change. The airdrop method worked well to get the initial user base, but it also proved to be the least efficient in terms of user acquisition cost.
Over the next few months, we'll add more methods of free distribution. One of them is already being developed, I expect it to be ready in the first half of December.
The new methods are designed to grow our user base faster than the money supply.
While the new methods are still untested, it is early to drop the airdrops. That's why the next round of distribution to Bytes and BTC holders is tentatively planned for the full moon of March 2, 2018. The rules are the same as in the previous round:
For every 16 BTC you receive 0.1 GB, For every 1 GB you receive additional 0.1 GB,
and similar rules for blackbytes.
This round can be postponed or even canceled depending on performance of other distribution methods.

I have no bytes but I have tons of blackbytes in my byteball wallet. I tried to sell my blackbytes in the chatbot but it asks for bytes for fee.
So how can I sell my blackbytes while I have no bytes in my wallet?
You can not sell without bytes where are your blackbytes from? WTF? What kind of system uses other coins for fee but not its own coin? This is so stupid is it? For instance, if you want to transfer an ethereum's erc-20 token you need gas (priced in eth) to pay for transaction fees i.e. you need to have eth so that you can send an erc-20 token. As Saxnot said: ... BlackByte are like a Token.
Byteball is a platform and bytes are the fuel to running this platform. To transfer any asset built on byteball (blackbytes for instance), you need to pay for transaction fees in bytes.

So, I recently installed the chesscoin-qt wallet on Windows, created a chesscoin.conf file with all the nodes (just addnode lines) and waited for the wallet to sync. I then imported an old address using importprivkey from the Console, the address seems imported with all its history of transactions, however, the wallet's balance stays at 0 in the Overview screen (and when I try to send some chesscoins it tells me I can't (as expected)). Am I missing something? Thank you.
very good - you have synchronized the blockchain ... Now copy your wallet.dat into the same folder where you have copied the chesscoin.conf and then your credit will be displayed Here you will find the folder structure with the wallet.dat C:\Users\*.*\AppData\Roaming\ChessCoin The wallet.dat is your wallet and will be cold ( without contact to the network) if you remove these from this folder Best regards Okay thanks for the reply, I'll try that in some near future . However, I still don't understand why importing the private key isn't enough to gain control over the coins ...

So I'm trying to follow the guide. I installed the app (latest release from https://github.com/buildog/BarterDEX/releases) on both a Windows (7) and a Linux (Xubuntu 16.04). On both, I'm not greeted with the 'generate passphrase' screen but with a login screen. So I try to login using the passphrase 'test'. On Windows, I get an error, something like 'the specified path is not found, retry'. On Linux, a new screen appears, the add coins screen, however what's supposed to be the 'add coins' zone is grayed out and says 'electrum (soon)', I also have a message that says something like 'no coin wallet was detected' (which is true). I didn't examine any logs, I just wanted to report that, in case someone can rapidly tell me what I might be missing. Thank you. Nothing. You missed nothing exactly the same for me. You missed that the latest release on Github is 6 days old, only the master branch being worked upon has all the above issues fixed and it's used for the guide. Its release could happen tomorrow. Okay thank you. As the guide didn't specifically mention that the master branch was to be used, I simply downloaded the latest release. Now the latest release behaves as described in the guide. Thx again.

hi, i sent blackbytes from my desktop wallet to my old mobile wallet. after restoring this wallet via seed the balance is still shown as 0. I read some time ago that after restoring old recieving wallet i can get the blackbytes by asking the sender to re-send the private payment. It would be great if someone could give me a step to step introduction what i have to do on my desktop wallet and on my mobile wallet.
Kind regards tortellino
up On your desktop wallet, you can go to the history of blackbytes' transactions, select a transaction you did with your mobile wallet and then click the button to resend the private payloads. I never tried that myself, but it seems to be a good place to start.

Can somebody clarify the questions raised in this reddit thread? https://www.reddit.com/r/ByteBall/comments/733eoj/can_someone_explain_this_discrepancy/In short, the byteball website claims that 100,000 GBYTEs were distributed in the first round, when in practice only 50,000 were. the website clearly says that 70,000 BTC were linked in the first round, and the exchange rate in the first round was 0.7066. This yields 70,663*.7066 = 49,930 GBYTEs distributed to bitcoin holders. however their website also says that 10% of overall supply was distributed in the first round. but if there's a million gbytes to be handed out, 10% is 100,000. that leaves 50,000 unaccounted for. they clearly were not, by byteball.org's own numbers, handed out to the public. something is amiss here and I think it deserves immediate clarification. if the team is holding back 5% instead of 2% as claimed on the bitcointalk announcement, the community should be made aware.
It looks like a case of incorrect math to calculate the distribution rate in the first round; is that the case? Yes, the calculations in that reddit post are incorrect. The rate for the first round was (rounded to simplify), for each 0.7 BTC, you get 1 GB, so for the over 70,000 BTC linked, 70,000/0.7 = 100,000 GB were distributed. Actually that rate was a consequence of the linked BTC, I mean that the rule was "distribution of 10%", given the fact over 70,000 BTC was linked, that simply gave the rate of 0.7 BTC/GB or 1.42 GB/BTC. The transition page for the first round can be found here http://transition.byteball.org/firstround.html, if you want more details about the addresses that were linked.

Can somebody please explain how to get free test bytes to start playing around?
Post your address: I will send you some. My address NHH2G675VLQEPVEUK7S5KXSNTZ4HYWOX I dont understand. My balance is still 0 test byteballs. Is something wrong with my wallet? Is there any third way to get some test byteballs? I added one more wallet so my the addresses is NHH2G675VLQEPVEUK7S5KXSNTZ4HYWOX TEEZS66RGFVTNAJCACQ23DEYCL3A6GJI Can somebody provide clear explanation how to obtain test byteballs? Hey you received real bytes on NHH2G675VLQEPVEUK7S5KXSNTZ4HYWOX : https://explorer.byteball.org/#NHH2G675VLQEPVEUK7S5KXSNTZ4HYWOXForget testnet, it's for dev. I thought that testnet is for getting used to payment. This addresses which I already posted is made with test valet. Can you transfer those real bytes than to this address ZW7NS5ZKBBDLLMQAIE6KAMCMN7XE3ZHT which is made with production, not test wallet? Hello, I still did not get any bytes. What is wrong? When can I aspect to get some? Dude, you gotta be kidding me. Simply coming to a forum and begging earns you nothing. You were answered, but you simply ignored the response. You posted an address.. NHH2G675VLQEPVEUK7S5KXSNTZ4HYWOX That address is not only NOT linked, but also contained no byteball at the time of the distribution, so you got no Bonus. Stop begging and read the first post to learn how to get byteballs. Simply creating an address doesn't mean you get free money. If that were the case, I would create billions of addresses. LOL! The level of entitlement is real on these forums. It is like why do you expect to get paid while doing 0 work? I seriously do not understand beggars and their mentality. Kudos to you shutting this down because if you did not I would. Now byteball talk . It is unfortunate to see the price so low but with the hardworking team behind the scenes and the updates currently rolling out we should optimistic. I surely do. And I think this tide will turn quite soon, once byteball gets more traction What's more real is that DTF actually never asked for real bytes and never said anything about being entitled to receiving bytes from the distribution simply because they created an address. DTF asked for test bytes from the beginning, they gave an address because Wekkel proposed to send them some, but Wekkel sent real bytes to the testnet address DTF provided. DTF still not seeing the test bytes they expected from Wekkel was confused. DTF, if you want test bytes, normally there is a faucet that can provide them. Here https://byteball.org/testnet.html you can find all you need to know about testnet. You could also try exporting the seed from your testnet wallet into a mainnet wallet and see if it recovers the bytes sent by Wekkel.

Hello
Does anybody know if cryptox distributes black bytes upon request?!
Thanks.
as far as i know no exchange distributes gbyte, let alone blackbytes. blackbytes are tied to your personal wallet. they'd have to sync with a wallet you create to give it to you. no way they got the time for that. cryptox distributes Gbytes for a fee if you hold there. I think they take 5% for this. Yes, and they also give you blackbytes (minus the 5% fee) upon request, just send an email to admin@cryptox.pl with your pairing code and they'll pair up with you. If you get no response you can contact grzem on Slack.

Since you ask for blackbytes... do you know, or does anyone reading, know what's the exchange rate for GBYTE/GBBYTE Please update this price every once in a while here on the forum. There is no exchange for it. There is #trading_blackbyte on https://byteball.slack.com where you can see offers: ASK orders: 1.20539 GB/GBB | 0.055 GB | 4.562823717E9 GBB | @zonedoutdad (I'm pretty sure this line is a sorting mistake on slack)0.01 GB/GBB | 0.01 GB | 1.0 GBB | @moonlander 0.01199 GB/GBB | 0.0012 GB | 0.1 GBB | @dmicah BID orders: 0.01809 GB/GBB | 0.181 GB | 10.0 GBB | @conibito 0.01800 GB/GBB | 1.8 GB | 100.0 GBB | @altcore For the record, there are now two bots that facilitate blackbytes' trading, beeb (which is currently in maintenance) and freebe, the latest trade on freebe is at 0.027 GB/GBB. Check out https://byteroll.com/blackbytes#bots for pairing codes (and more info).

Is it possibe to change a full wallet into a lite wallet?
yeah, delete all folder or rename it , the one contains all info and install new wallet "light" wallet this time. It's not possible to change a full wallet into a light wallet (not in a straight forward way). Please don't delete anything unless you have a full backup (necessary to restore blackbytes) or the seed (enough to restore bytes). What you can do is install a new light wallet elsewhere, then transfer your funds to it. Mind that by doing so, you'll have to link your new addresses. Exactly what i said. if he rename it he can get access to it later. back up of whole wallet only possible with full wallet. So one option is to install brand new wallet and move coins to there. I wouldn't call it exactly . It is very important to stress out that a wallet should be backed up before anything is done, especially when you tell someone to delete their folder ... Renaming is okay but this won't help them transfer their funds if they have any. Running two wallets is a must, and I think this wasn't clear in your comment. Regarding this: back up of whole wallet only possible with full wallet.
The full backup option is available for the light wallet also. Recovering from the seed is however only possible from a full wallet (maybe that's what you meant).

:/ Le bot m'avait répondu : "Please send exactly the requested amount (if it was you)."
"Please make sure that BLABLA is indeed your address and move all your coins to this address. You receive 0.0625 GB and 131,943,750 blackbytes for each 1 BTC of the total balance of this Bitcoin address on August 7. Current balance of this address is 0 BTC."

Hi guys, i have a small problem which i hope you can help me out to solve. I had blackbytes on my windows computer. I recently swap to linux operating system but i also got a back up of my wallet before doing that. I did restore it now, but all i see is a 0 balance on my wallet. Did i loose all my blackbytes? Your help will be appreciated.
When you say backup, do you mean a copy of the byteball folder or the file made using the full backup option from the Byteball app? Is there a difference in the end result? Which one is safer/better? The backup from the full backup option is cross-platform, ie you can make a backup on Windows and restore from it on Linux. However, if you just take the byteball folder from a Windows machine and copy/paste it in the right directory on the Linux machine, it won't work.

I tried to restore my wallet which I had backed up with wallet seed but my funds did not come back... is it still possible to recover my bytes again???
So you launched a Byteball app in full mode, waited for it to sync, and then restored using your backed up seed and your bytes did not appear?
