we need Binance. let's each of us write in the Binance message. maybe the developers of this coin will see that the people demand dobovleniya on the stock exchange.

The Sia team entered into discussions with Binance at least four months ago, that's when Taek(42), a developer and the creator of this thread, posted this: https://www.reddit.com/r/siacoin/comments/7pfyjc/brief_update_on_binance.

Three months ago Taek42 said:

Yeah so far our conversations haven't gone anywhere interesting. Nothing good, nothing bad.

Also four months ago:

If I delete this comment, Binance asked for something that I found reprehensible.

That comment is still there so either they are still discussing or Taek42 forgot to remove it.
202  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 13, 2018, 09:38:02 AM

With a +7-10% buy premium, people will never use them though.

This is not true.  People will use them for the novelty of owning bitcoin, or for buying very small amounts.  Or because they don't have a better way to do it.

But I agree with the spirit of your post.  Until these things begin to become competitive they will stay in the general realm of being a novelty.

TBH I'm not sure what these Bitcoin ATM operators are thinking with having those premiums so high. I assume it's an attempt to recoup the cost of the ATM itself maybe? But they would do well to get those buy premiums down to at least 2-3%, otherwise people will just jump online to do it.

Fees may not be the only deciding factor here, some people are prepared to pay these fees, why would they? one may ask. Maybe they are looking for something tangible as a first experience in buying Bitcoin and they don't necessarily exchange big money so in the end the fee is not that high. Moreover, people may be more familiar with ATMs (as they use them to get fiat) and they deliver immediately, no need to wait for your wire transfer, you walk in with fiat and walk out with Bitcoin and vice-versa. I don't know if ATMs need some kind of verification, yet if they do, it is probably a bit more private than when you use your bank account, scan your passport and make a selfie to be able to exchange ... Also, ATMs may be the only way in some countries to get Bitcoin. It all comes down to how much one values these things and how fast they need to do the exchange I think.
Maybe someone who already used (still uses) Bitcoin ATMs can share their experience?
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: May 13, 2018, 08:48:20 AM
I wonder if "partnerships" include new/big volume exchanges or "speculators" still does not deserve trading Byteball?

Well Gbyte is listed on Bittrex and Upbit which are quite big volume exchanges and back in the early days Cryptox's volume was soaring after listing Gbyte. Speculators already speculated (just remember the ATL and ATH in BTC) and still have room to do so using the current exchanges. I don't know how Byteball can partner up with an exchange without having to pay a huge fee and I personally don't encourage that.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: May 12, 2018, 03:38:42 PM
Is there any channel to check full infomation?

What do you mean by full information? You can start by reading the first post, all the info you need is there.
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: CHESSCOIN - 32% POS - COIN FOR CHESS COMMUNITY on: May 12, 2018, 11:29:52 AM
This coin is quite interesting

How did you come to that conclusion?

I will wait for the next announcement, of course with more detailed information, about mining and swimming pool, does this coin hold a bounty or signature campaign? Thanks.

Had you read the first post, you would have seen that the ICO was canceled, investors refunded and bounties distributed. And that this coin is POS so no mining or swimming pools ... And all of this happened almost two years ago. You are welcome.
206  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: May 12, 2018, 11:10:21 AM
I do not understand a bit, explain to me! For example, I have the rank of Member(have 10merit) and I want to  1Merit, but I can not do it, because I do not have to sMerit. How can I be in that case, where do I get it?

I'm having a bit of trouble understanding what you are asking, but maybe I somehow understand, I hope the answer lies in what follows:
In the beginning, sMerit (the one that you send to others) was distributed to users depending on their rank and activity, there also are merit sources who receive sMerit regularly, and finally, for each 2 Merits that are added to your Merit (received from others) you get 1 sMerit (to send).
For now, you have 1 Merit, to become a Member you need 10, let's assume you get them (users give them to you by clicking on +Merit on your posts), you will also get 5 sMerits that you can send to other users.

does dct have a mobile wallet for android?

There is no mobile wallet as far as I know. The only wallet is what you can qualify as a web wallet, it's https://www.decentgo.com.

... I specifically chose lite as I figured it was a good time to switch... Byteball created me a new wallet.

Then, I attempted to restore from my most recent "full backup"... as this is what I was advised a few weeks ago on slack:
Quote
Yes. You have to create a backup ("full" backup if you have so called "private assets") and then reinstall the software in the light mode. And afterwards do the "wallet restore from backup"

However, since restoring from my backup, Byteball has been "syncing" from when that backup was taken??!? Huh I thought lite wallets were (for all intents and purposes) the equivalent of Bitcoin "SPV" wallets and would magically "insta-sync"? Huh

Have I simply recreated my old "full" wallet by restoring from the full backup of my "Full" wallet? Huh

Actually yes, when you restore from a full backup the app just uses the data from that full backup (including the fact that the wallet is full). What you chose when installing the app doesn't matter.

Yes the lite wallet is the equivalent of a Bitcoin "SPV" wallet.

Back in days when my full wallet took ages to sync on a computer with an HDD, I did a full backup and then restored from it on another computer with an SSD so that the syncing completes faster, which was the case, I then transfered the funds to a freshly installed lite wallet.

You can always keep your seed if you want to keep control over your previous Byteball addresses. You'll always be able to access them on any kind (lite or full) of wallet.

... its time that I get one bitcoin clone coin and chesscoin satisfy my investment.

ChessCoin is a Bitcoin clone - So is the correct name BitcoinChess?  Cheesy

Motion to rename and re-brand to bitcoinchess! Smiley

Just a technicality, forks and clones are not the same, forks are what are usually named "Bitcoin something". Clones are usually named "something Coin" Smiley.

Motion ... for a fund raising for a chess playing website like lichess

Fund raising would probably not be a problem, the main concern is: Would there be anyone who is prepared to do it and have the necessary skills to do it properly? Some entity needs to be found and trusted, who's gonna find them and how would they gain the trust of those raising the funds? Having said that, is it really necessary? Tournaments have been held on Lichess before but apparently nobody is interested anymore (for various reasons), I'm not sure if a new Chess website would solve anything ...

Don´t you think that your soft cap is pretty high? You already raised $3 mln, but you have to raise another $12 mln, it seems impossible Sad

I have the same worries actually

Hello devs! How are you doing? As I can see you are too far form the soft cap...so what are your plans?

In a previous post, btcapparel said they will ask the community to vote for either extending the ICO period or getting a refund. Here it is: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2961359.msg36208190#msg36208190:

If the raised sum is gonna be quite close to the soft cap we'll launch a voting among our community.
Also we may consider on extending of the ICO period.

Voting to launch the project anyway or to refund the participants? Or do you mean something else?
Is a refund and not launching the project a possibility if the soft cap is not reached, or in other terms, what is the soft cap actually for?

I mean voting for either extention of ICO period to reach the soft cap or refund.
Launching of the project is the most important thing. And yes, say we've raised $14.5M, there would one more voting probably.

so as a community member & miner, all the fork stories & doorstop stories, are they rumors only or the devs are going to implement it?

The only fork discussion I'm aware of was the one that happened back when Bitmain released their miner, the team's statement was "if the network is being attacked by Bitmain then we'll soft fork". Unless I missed something, all seems okay so far. I don't know what doorstop is, I only see mentions of it in Searing's posts and some yours that reply to them, what is it? Anyway, as long as nothing is mentioned in the official communication channels, I think not much importance should be given to unbacked info. For me, such info doesn't even qualify as a rumor.

I actually read quotes...I mean its better than to read and scroll all thread

I also read quotes, just not when there are more than ten of them in four almost consecutive posts.

We are coming to Venezuela.

1. A grant was recently awarded to conduct a use-a-thon in Siṃn Boĺvar University in Venezuela, see  https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Pjiv56RlGUjsWHB6z9Hg2flDOjC8gUEp6rxNCLEKvuQ/edit and #use-a-thon on slack.

2. The domain of this university usb.ve is whitelisted for the reward from email attestation, it's 9000 students.

It might simply boost the Byteball price up a bit!

The price up is  simply not compatible with Venezuela students. They will dump the reward coins at once to buy snickers bars.

I think there is no reason for the price to go up or down because of this. If they dump the price won't be affected. What's positive about this is that Byteball will gain a bit more visibility and some of it might be distributed through email attestation.

Someone from the team can get contact with me please ?

If it's not confidential, maybe you can start by posting what you want (to know) here in this thread and someone may be able to help you.
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [Live ICO] Market.space - Decentralized Host Aggregator on: May 09, 2018, 03:11:16 PM
Please just quote the part that you are replying to. Over quoting just clogs up the thread and makes it difficult to read and follow, and nobody reads all the quoted posts anyway.

Hi!
Reasonable, but sometimes it's important to know what the dialogue started with.

I agree that it's important to know what started the dialogue but when someone quotes 13 posts, something is definitely wrong. Especially when the last handful of messages are the same quotes over and over again. I'm not reading them and I assume that a lot of people are not reading them either (maybe I'm wrong). A common ground should be found between trying to make what started the dialogue visible and quoting everything without a second thought.

I wish this happen soon that Siacoin Hardfork Announce with free new coins plus the same day binance and bitfinex announce siacoin listing into their exchanges that’s the only way siacoin will break 5000 satoshi In 1,2 days only I wish some one can forward my request or wish to siacoin team to make it possible.

It wouldn't make sense if the team made a contentious hard fork. There needs to be a part of the community that doesn't agree with the team's decisions and that is prepared to maintain a hard fork of Siacoin. The team can't make listings happen, unless maybe they pay a huge amount of money but seriously these listing fees are just becoming absurd. Even if all of this happens at once, it probably won't make Siacoin break 5k sats in a day or two.
Unfortunately the team can't make your wish come true.

A few days ago got free NiceByte tokens airdroped into my byteball wallet and received a little more today. Does anyone know what that is? Whether they have any real value?

Previously, did you ever follow their gift campaign. Usually such an event because you follow one of their prize campaign. Or it could be mis-sent.

Nicebytes were airdropped on bytes' holders. A quick search using the forum's search engine would have landed you on their thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3428403, you can get more info there.

BTCD was swapped for KMD.. So what are these coins traded now??? And no webpage...

Not all BTCDs have been swapped for KMDs, but most of them have been. Some people/bots seem to be interested in trading an abandoned coin.

Smells like scum....

The word you are looking for is probably scam, but you know, people should be well-aware that they can no longer transfer BTCD so if they chose to continue trading it then be it ...
