so what is the real total supply of this coin?
C-cex has the correct amount of total supply. Could you care to explain why would that be please? I mean, can the block explorer even be wrong? If you have any technical explanation, can you please provide it? Thx. |

I actually tried pairing two of my devices by adding the pairing code from one to the other but this doesn't seem to be enough (I chatted from one device to another but never received messages), maybe I need to perform the operation on both devices? or maybe both must be online?
It is enough. If the devices are listed in each other's list of paired devices, they should be able to chat. This worked well when I paired both my phone and my desktop, however pairing two of my desktop apps didn't work. I copied the pairing code from device1 and emailed it to myself, I then added it as a new device on device2, however, device1 appears with the name New (in device2's list of paired devices), whereas it should've been the name device1 was configured with. - When writing a very long number the digits overlap on bytes.
That's a really long number, are you a whale?  Not yet  - I tried sending very large numbers and it resulted in sending 1 or 2 bytes.
Thank you for spotting, will investigate. Do you need the amounts? After pairing my phone with my desktop, I requested a payment from the phone, when I clicked to execute the payment from my desktop, my phone displayed this error: http://imgur.com/a/Riafp. And now it is displayed each time I start the app. Also, when I was trying to send CryptKeeper some blackbytes (upon their request), This error appeared: https://imgur.com/a/0cMcO. Then after some minutes, I was able to send. |

Well, technically there can't be any buy order ... Each new buy order will directly match an existing sell order because the lowest price is 1 sat, unless someone tries to buy at a very high price (higher that the highest in sell orders) which is very likely not to happen (anytime soon). An odd thing is that according to https://chainz.cryptoid.info/ncl/#!rich the total of coins is 750,000,225 (owned by 6 addresses ...) and the total in c-cex sell orders is 2,774,723,698.83. Where do these come from? Objectively speaking, this project has no escrow, no source code, no white paper, no wallet, no nothing, well there is the website ... Too many red flags and incoherences ... |

Having both options adds complexity on both technical and usability sides:
1. More code that needs to be written, debugged, and tested. Despite all the testing, more code is always more complexity and greater probability of errors, including security errors. Complexity is the enemy of security.
2. More options for users means more options for attackers too. This needs to be analyzed, and with growing complexity the chances of missing something increase.
3. Longer instructions for users. They are scared off by the abundance of text or unfamiliar words, like "signing a message".
4. Users have to evaluate both options and make their choices. Choice is difficult when the difference between the choices is not immediately clear.
All this is fine as long as there is a real tangible benefit in adding more options that overweights the negatives. In this particular case, there isn't.

What I find negative about this, is the lack of options ... (I want to send a signed message to claim, I can't. I want to see the transaction id and/or fees before sending, I can't. I don't want to use Google Play , I can't). Looks like you want more control than an average user (well, as I perceive an average user). That's OK, there is no one size that fits all. I envisage that we'll have multiple wallets in Byteball ecosystem that fit different preferences, like we already have in Bitcoin. They can't be burned, somebody definitely gets them after the transaction is confirmed.
I hope someone here claims them (just to make sure everything is working fine). if you want to design a wallet for pro users, fork it and release your own.

CryptKeeper, I sent 111 bytes to the first address and 999 bytes to the second, did you receive them? Both transactions cost 589 bytes, does this mean that the fee is set to this amount whatever the number of bytes one sends? Yes, I acknowledge! Cool I cannot see who has sent these tx, there is no sender address! Is this meant to be like this?
That's a good question that presents me an opportunity to tell you about another workflow, which is the only workflow possible for blackbytes (the private currency). When you pay in blackbytes, the private payload is not stored on the public database, rather it is sent directly to the payee. To deliver it, we need to establish a direct communication link between the payer and the payee. This is accomplished by pairing their wallets. One of the parties (payer or payee) creates an invitation in his wallet by clicking Menu button -> Paired devices -> Add new -> Invite. Select and send the long code to the other party (if meeting in person, the other party can just scan the QR code). The other party just clicks the code if it is clickable, or pastes it in his wallet at Menu button -> Paired devices -> Add new -> Accept invitation. Now they are paired. Don't paste the code on this forum as it is for one-time use only, it won't work for the second person. Rather PM it to the intended counterpart. Once you are paired, start a chat and use "Insert address" button to share your address with the correspondent (this will be a freshly generated address, specifically for this correspondent). The other party then clicks the received address and sends payment in bytes or in blackbytes, and you immediately receive notification in chat and know who sent the payment. At this moment, the private payload (if it was payment in blackbytes) is already saved in your wallet, and only you and the payer know about it. This explains the blackbytes workflow but doesn't seem to answer CryptKeeper's question ... By the way if anyone is interested in pairing devices, shoot me a PM . The fees are collected partially by those who are first to reference your transaction as parent and partially by witnesses.
So, anyone here who got the fees? In the current version, the wallet does not display who got the fees, and I believe it is of little interest to most users. Besides, the fees paid by one transaction are too small to care about (unless the marketcap is over $100bn). I am not interested in who got the fees, I just want to know if some user got them or if they were burned ... I mean if someone was the first to reference my transaction as parent and/or is a witness then they should've gotten the fees, just wanted to make sure of that. Is there any way to have more information about a transaction, the id for instance, the number of confirmations it needed (it just goes from unconfirmed to cofirmed)?
There is no such thing as number of confirmations, the transaction is either confirmed or pending. This is by design (see the white paper https://byteball.org/Byteball.pdf). Ok, bare with my silly questions until I master the courage to read the white paper . The wallet is designed for unsophisticated users (GUI was borrowed from Copay, the most easy to use bitcoin wallet) and we generally avoid displaying information that bears little meaning to regular user.
Having both is having complexity again, something I avoid by all means throughout this project.
I'm not against accommodating regular users, I just think that this simplicity may annoy less regular users. As far as I'm concerned, even if the info may have little meaning, being able to display it and choosing not to is not the same as not being able to display it. Can you elaborate a bit on the complexity that signing a message instead of making a payment may introduce? (I'm not taking about the complexity of signing a message per se, I'm talking about how this will make the distribution process more complex.) Thank you. |

What about this: The fees paid for storing one’s transactions (or any other data) in the Byteball database are equal to the size of the data being stored. If your transaction size is 500 bytes, you pay exactly 500 bytes (the native currency of Byteball) in fees.
The fees are collected partially by those who are first to reference your transaction as parent and partially by witnesses.
So, anyone here who got the fees? Is there any way to have more information about a transaction, the id for instance, the number of confirmations it needed (it just goes from unconfirmed to cofirmed)? or
b) require a signed message from the claiming address instead of making a 0.001 BTC transaction
- then people wouldn't have to make a tx that possibly compromises their privacy or loses them coins
This one is complex too. Not every wallet has this function, and even when it has, users rarely know how to use it. There is nothing simpler than just regular payment, which is the basic functionality of every wallet. Can't we have both? Users who know how to/can/want to sign a message may do so and others may send a payment. |

I checked F-droid but didn't change my decision to distribute APKs through google play exclusively. The biggest merit of google play is auto-updates, which is absolutely required for security apps like this. While you say you are prepared to go through the trouble of manual updating, most people aren't, and I don't want to encourage use of outdated software that might have critical security bugs.
I see your point. I do however believe that all the solutions can co-exist, Google Play + auto-upates for those who activate them, Google Play without auto-updates for those who deactivate them, F-droid and apk. I don't think this will penalize users from a given group. People who do not use auto-updates (GP or F-droid) and people who use apks are generally aware that they should keep an eye on potential updates and that they should untick allow 3rd party apks once an app is installed . Moxie Marlinspike had some fair criticisms about f-droid, which I totally agree with, and I believe, for this kind of apps, google is a lesser evil.
Didn't know about that, so I searched and found this discussion https://github.com/WhisperSystems/Signal-Android/issues/127 between @moxie and users pushing for providing his app outside Google Play. Some of the concerns he raised back in 2013 were no more in 2015 (Yep the discussion lasted 2 years ). Since you are rightfully concerned about privacy, I want you to be aware that Byteball wallet sends crash reports to me whenever it detects any abnormal condition. These reports have already helped me fix some bugs in the latest release and identify others that need further investigation.
Thanks for pointing that out. Do you mean that it is hard-coded or the user can choose not to send the reports? My opinion on the matter in general, is that the user should have the choice and assume the consequences that come with their choice. |

I do . I have two lines in requested permissions: - Photos/Media/Files - Camera/Microphone The app is based in Cordova, and some Cordova plugins request permissions that are not actually used by the app.
Of this list, we use only camera to scan QR codes, you can verify that by the source code.
I don't know much about Cordova or Android apps. I checked the code and found some lines that may mean that camera and flashlight are used and found code about scanning QR codes ... Anywhere to look specifically? There are services that automatically extract apk from google play, you can google for them.

I searched for them and found (just) two services: - https://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader which gives me an error when I try to use it: Ops, APK Downloader got access denied when trying to download, Please try again and contact us. - A Firefox addon https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/apk-downloader (also available for Chrome) which requires me to have Google Play installed to begin with ... Do you know of any other working service that doesn't require you to have GP installed? But remember that you'll have to update manually each time we release a new version.

Mais ça cause pas bcp sur les ondes, y a pas des news croustillantes  ? Actuellement ils doivent être entrain de comptabiliser les ANS pour les primes et pour chaque investisseur, et ptet qu'ils sont entrain de gérer les remboursements s'il y en a ... En tout cas, le réseau principal n'est pas encore actif et le client téléchargeable est en chinois, donc on ne peut pas faire grand chose pour le moment, juste attendre ... S'ils se basent sur les données de Liqui et de Yuanbao, c'est un peu moyen, vu que ce qui est échangé là-bas ce sont des ANS IOU (littéralement je te dois) et donc des ANS virtuels que la plateforme d'échange promet à ses utilisateurs une fois que le réseau sera lancé. Je ne sais pas vraiment dans quelle mesure ça pourrait affecter le prix ... |

I guess you have forfeited your token, because you are suppose to open an account with them and generate you Antshares address before the ICO ended, if you have anybody that you trust that do not participated in any of the bounty, He should be of help. If you don't have an Antshares address (that you got from opening an account when the ICO was running) then you can try downloading their client in Chinese or wait for the English version. Anyway, since the main net is not launched you can not claim ANS now. I believe the team is counting how many ANS each participant will have depending on the bounties they participated in, just give them some time, there is no rush (I guess). If you are really in a hurry, try sending them an email summarizing which bounties you've participated in, if you have an Antshares address include it, otherwise explain that you don't have one and ask for what you should do to have one. I don't think that any bounty will be lost, just chill out for the moment . I dont know did my signature qualify to bounty.

Anyway, you are still wearing the sig and you are registered for normal rate, just write zengryT a PM and they will probably update the spreadsheet with your final posts' number (if there is no issue with your participation). |
