1281  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia stole our coins on: February 28, 2018, 11:32:16 PM
What should I do?
They can't just take my btc and sell me something that not exist and tell me we can't do anything about it .
If your valuation is correct then those coins were worth 200BTC and that is more than 2 million dollars at current prices that is more than enough reasons to try to do everything you can to get that money back or at least a portion of it, maybe the lawsuit it is not going to proceed but if you do nothing you are never going to see those coins again.
1282  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How would you build an exchange? on: February 28, 2018, 11:24:16 PM
If you were going to build a new cryptocurrency exchange, how would you do it?

Would you use existing open source software such as Peatio, would you create a custom made platform, or would you try to use one of the existing decentralized exchange platforms?

Consider from a business perspective as well as a developer's perspective...  Smiley
Creating an exchange is not easy you not only need a huge amount of money but you need a strong background on security if you do not then you will risk the future of the exchange and the funds of your customers, with that being said, the only real option is to develop your own platform from zero, you may take inspiration from open source but you need to build it yourself after all if there are any bugs found in the open source software you will vulnerable.
1283  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What to do if the prices down again? on: February 28, 2018, 11:18:59 PM
There are some rumours that the prices would get down again for one or two times before they reincrease to the level around before the latest year end and even higher. Can anyone here enlighten me and newbies like me, which is better to do if that really happens:
1) hold our assets and wait until the market got fully recover to start trading.
2) increase our capital to reduce the average price.
3) sell our assets with the assumptions to got deficit prives, and then rebuy again at this price.
4) others.

Any suggestion?
Stop listening to rumors and concentrate yourself in the charts, people can lie but the charts do not, if you watch the price of bitcoin right now there are not signs we are going to see any kind of big dump, the price right now seems to be moving in a tight range and it seems it is going to do that for the next days, however if the price goes down take that opportunity and get some bitcoin and begin to trade since you are not going to get much profits by holding with the market moving this way.
1284  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Impact of bitcoin futures on: February 28, 2018, 11:12:47 PM
Funnily I'm beginning to have a feeling futures trading is really affecting the Bitcoin price and in fact I feel the whales are now really controlling the market,as far as I can remember ever since futures trading started,Bitcoin has been bearish most of the time.
There have been two theories about what the futures market will do to bitcoin, one is this will help institutional investors to get bitcoin and this will generate an interest in bitcoin and a bigger price but there are some other users that think these markets are going to suppress the price of bitcoin similar to what happens to gold, both are possible and we are only going to find out which one is true in the next years.
1285  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does Regulation Attempt affects the Bitcoin Price? on: February 27, 2018, 05:45:36 PM
I've never been paying that much attention to price before, during and after the possible crypto ban, but surely if some country was to ban crypto, people in that country would go panic selling and probably dump all of their coins from fear. That could probably have some effect on the price but it also depends what country it is, how many btc holders it has.
If the country banning bitcoin in your scenario is not a big player in crypto then the effects will be limited but if it is one of the big players then we will see a crash but like always something that may seem negative can in fact be good since that will be a way for us to get cheap bitcoin for a limited amount of time, after all even if bitcoin was banned in most parts of the world it is not likely it will be banned everywhere and so we will always have ways to trade and cash out our bitcoin.
1286  Economy / Speculation / Re: Common misconceptions about day trading on: February 27, 2018, 05:41:37 PM
There seems to be a lot of confusion, misconception and misunderstanding about day trading and its advantages as well as disadvantages. Some people even say that it is a form of gambling. In this topic I want to explain why it is not and also address the most common issues which day traders encounter and how they handle them. Thank you for your attention.

First of all, day trading is no more gambling than any other trading. If the price rises you ride the wave, if it doesn't you wait until it does. That's pretty much all. In this sense, if day trading is gambling, then all trading is essentially gambling. Besides, arbitrage is also day trading which involves quite a few trades (actually, twice as many) albeit it is anything but gambling.

Further, there is a question of limited profitability. This question has some substance but it seems that people who raise it don't fully understand what day trading comes down to. Many erroneously think that it is mostly about missing good profit opportunities. In fact, nothing can be farther from truth than that. Day trading if done right is actually about maximizing your profits, not losing them.

Statistically, your best trading strategy would be capitalizing on both short-term volatility and long-term growth. Since most price moves happen in a rather narrow range followed by relatively rare but big price changes, an optimal strategy would be dividing your trading capital into parts, smaller parts for catching short-term volatility, while bigger parts for capitalizing on longer-term growth.

You are correct in what you write, but the reasons those misconceptions exist at all has to do with the irresponsibility of many of those that day trade, day trading can be extremely profitable but there are those that engage in the activity despite their limited knowledge and as you may expect their results are very poor this leads them to conclude that day trading is like gambling even if that is not the case.
1287  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Will the Bull Market Return in 2018? What's Your Prediction? on: February 27, 2018, 05:36:57 PM
Since I have been trading, every correction has been followed by new all time highs for most cryptocurrencies.  If this trend continues, many of us trading today will become wealthy.  On the other hand, given the growing trend of new government regulations, this may be the beginning of a long winter.  Where do you think we're headed in 2018?
A bull market similar to what happened in the previous year is extremely unlikely, this is probably a year of transition which means that if you want to obtain profits you will need to become more a trader than a holder, this can be good if you are able to take advantage of the opportunity or it can be bad if you have no skills in trading, and if you do not have those skills, get them since those skills can help even a holder to decide when it is the best time to buy or sell his holdings.
1288  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best exchange to trade? Why? on: February 27, 2018, 05:29:56 PM
Would like recommendation on best exchange to trade on and reason why you believe the exchange is better than others?

There is never a clear answer to questions like these after all what you are looking for could be different to what I'm looking for, I prefer an exchange with very low or no trading fees if you are a  scalping trader those small fees slowly add up and can cause you to lose most of your profits but in an exchange with no fees this is not a problem at all.
1289  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Altcoin Trading on: February 27, 2018, 05:25:06 PM
I'm a little bit confused guys. For example The situation is you bought an altcoin for 1 btc, let's say 1btc=10,000. so you bought an altcoin and you gained a profit so your 1btc became 1.2btc and you sold iyour altcoin for 1.2btc, but the value of btc drops let's say 1btc=9,000.. that way you will lose right? but will you regain your money or profits if the value of btc comes back to 10,000 another day? and you will have the 1.2btc=12,000? is that right? thanks for your answers.

Sorry because I didn't deliver it fluently but for those who understand what I mean, can I ask your opinion? Thanks!
I know it can be confusing to start trading with bitcoin, but your example was correct, however when you invest bitcoin we need to look at the earnings in bitcoin, so investing 1 BTC in an alt and then getting 1.2 BTC means you multiplied your holdings even if the price of bitcoin went down, I know that many care more about the price in dollars and there is nothing wrong with that but if you invest bitcoin the most important thing are your bitcoin profits.
1290  Economy / Services / Re: 🇺🇸bitFlyer USA Signature Campaign 🇺🇸 on: February 27, 2018, 05:16:12 PM
The signature is working fine, now just a question are posts in this section counted Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Marketplace > Service Discussion > Exchanges?

I ask because posts in the marketplace do not count towards the weekly requirements yet the exchanges section of the forum is part of the marketplace and that could be a good section to create some posts.

I am interested in forming part of this campaign.

JonHolmquist the signature for Hero member seems to have an error I have tried to apply it several times and it does not work, the rest of the signatures seems to be fine.

1292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beware my Filipino friends of Facebook bitcoin groups on: February 23, 2018, 11:47:07 PM
I've been joining a lot of cyptocurrency Facebook groups and have found most of them to be filled with scams- it's really sad to see how many people fall for them to, usually double your money or MLM scams Sad
While I have never joined any of those groups it is not something that surprises me, in the forum we have mods and active users actively fighting against scammers but in Facebook you are not going to get any of that and since no one calls them on their scam new users get convinced they can make a lot of money really fast and we know what happens next, they lose their money and most of the time they will blame bitcoin for their mistakes.
1293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KYC scams on: February 23, 2018, 11:43:31 PM
KYC regulations vary from region to region, country to country. Before submitting any KY requirements just see to it that the ICO are complying the the regulations serve by their country not just making any KYC requirements by themselves and not in accordance with the law and that act will be seem suspicious and scam.
Things are never so simple the devs may say that they are getting that info just in case the country where the ico is based change their laws and make icos gather that information, so they may try to make it look as if this is a preventive measure just in case that happens, this is why I'm against sending my documents to any ico, if they want my money then they need to follow my rules.
1294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Best coin to invest aside from Bitcoin on: February 23, 2018, 11:39:45 PM
I really want to invest in cryptocurrency, but i think btc price is so high for me. I want to invest in a coin that is stable but with a much lower price. I mean super low, so that i will profit in the years to come. Im new in learning crypto so i hope someone will give me an advice. Thanks a lot.
The price of the coin is not really important what it matters the most are the profits you can get but if that is really important to you then Ripple may be a good option, Ripple is the third coin in market cap and each coin is trading for less than a dollar right now and there was a time where it was trading above 3 dollars so it is a good investment with good potential.
1295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin god on: February 23, 2018, 11:32:51 PM
just read about a possible Bitcoin God as a result of the so called fork
if this happens
would this BTC god start at a really low number? and easy to buy into?
I thought the tittle was a typo and you meant Bitcoin Gold but it seems there was a Bitcoin God fork in December 25, yeah I'm not joking with the date, this show to us how ridiculous things have become when we have coins like that trying to get the money out of people by using the name of bitcoin and even religion to deceive people, this is disgusting in my opinion.
1296  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think bitcoin has hit its peak? on: February 23, 2018, 11:27:05 PM
No one knows what will be the highest peak for bitcoin. But I believe that bitcoin will be rising up again. There are still many bitcoin newcomers and that includes me and I think this means bitcoin is still continuously growing.
We reached an all time high but it is very unlikely that is the peak after all if you look at the mount of people in bitcoin we are still a minority, the only people I know that hold bitcoin are on the internet, I have yet to meet a single person in my life that hold any amount of bitcoin, that tells me that if bitcoin ever becomes mainstream its value will be many times over the current price.
1297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Newbie bounty manager on: February 23, 2018, 11:23:44 PM
Somebody can tell me how you can to become a Manager of a bounty campaign? Never seen anything like this or discussions on the forum.
The few cases of regular users that eventually became managers are people that were somehow involved with the project and were given the chance thanks to their desire to see the project become a success, so it is not something you can get by just asking since no one is going to trust you unless you are a professional manager already, so as you can see it is not easy to become a bounty manager.

1299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Opposite of FUD on: February 16, 2018, 11:07:17 PM
Opposite of FUD

Opposite of FUD is actually called shilling. That do pumpers after they accumulated cheap coins over weeks they were FUDing. Then they start shill. They tell us how that coin will solve world hunger and found cure for cancer.

In simple words this is what majority of the youtubers like suppoman, crypto love etc do. They gonna shill some coins hard and once the dust is settled they will forget about it. They are promoting numerous coins for their personal benefit. Out of 100 only 3 - 4 coins succed and then they will call themselves as crypto gurus by claiming "I have called this when it was X".
Yeah most users do not like FUD but do not like shilling either because is dishonest, it deceives people into thinking that a project is actually better than it really is and this is a way to deceive investors but we must learn to tell the difference, having a good opinion of a project does not mean people are shilling and expressing a negative opinion about a project does not mean someone is using FUD.
1300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the price of bitcoin and alts at the end of this year? on: February 16, 2018, 10:57:28 PM
I saw some news that Bitcoin will reach 40,000usd at the end of this year and this guy predicts that 90% of Altcoins will fail?? how do you react on this? Will give me some analysis. Thanks in advance Smiley  Check this out: https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-foundations-llew-claasen-says-bitcoin-will-hit-40000-90-of-altcoins-will-fail
Well the information about 90% of the coins failing is not really that new we know that is more or less the failure rate, that does not mean that will happen this year but eventually 90% of the altcoins will fail, about the price of bitcoin that is a possibility but I'm not so sure right now the price does not seem like it is going to reach 40k anytime soon but things can change if we get good news for bitcoin and alts like other countries legalizing bitcoin and accepting it as a currency.
