1301  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin continue to fall to $ 6,000$-5,000$??? on: February 16, 2018, 10:49:53 PM
Will bitcoin continue to fall to $ 6,000$-5,000$?
Yesterday bitcoin has fallen below  10,000$. Today bitcoin continues to fall deep down to 8,200$ and possibly more.
I bought bitcoin at 15,000$. Who can advise me to keep or sell bitcoin at this time? Will bitcoin continue to fall to 6,000$-5,000$? what should I do? please.. Sad Sad

Just hold your bitcoin for a while, selling at panic will not make you profitable instead it will make you lose your investment. Today, we have seen a good rise and hopefully this will continue. Have more patience in the coming weeks you will get your investment back
The trend has continued and the price has been going up for some time but it is still far away from 15k, the price the op bought his bitcoin, and I have my doubts we are going to see that price for some time holding is a good option but it is not easy or do especially if you have lost so much money already, hopefully this is a lesson for all of us to avoid buying when the price has been skyrocketing for a while.
1302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Switzerland, Guidelines and ICO. on: February 16, 2018, 10:38:49 PM
In theory, cryptocurrency is something that cannot be controlled and almost impossible to regulate because it is decentralized in nature.

https://coingape.com/switzerland-ico-guidelines-to-be-crypto-nation/

The above link is about Switzerland making its ICO guidelines and plans to become a "crypto-nation".

This seems a good approach, but will regulation work when when they're trying to regulate something that is decentralized in nature? I know it's a "guideline": to make directions clear in a rapidly expanding system. Call me a pessimist, but then, regulation for the government means centralization and control. Isn't it?

Regulation will come and if you want to get your earnings in the regular economy you will have to accept it, only a few crypto users will refuse to go through those regulations but if they refuse then they will be unable to convert their profits to fiat, I do not like it either but unless crypto takes all over the world and replaces the current system we will have to deal with this.
1303  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 19 year old millionaire advice on Bitcoin on: February 16, 2018, 10:34:49 PM
If I invested only 10 percent of my entire income in Bitcoin since two years ago, I would be a millionaire now. So, his advice is apt. Just invest your 10 percent of your entire income in crypto from now and see what happens in the future. What's the worst thing that could happen? You'll spend it anyways if you don't take that decision.
The problem is that many people do not think like that, when faced with the option to spend all their money or invest 10% of their money they prefer to spend it all, even if a person did not invested 10% in crypto and invested that in stocks after a few decades they will get great profits, but people do not think about the future they only care about the present and nothing more.
1304  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: KYC requirement from ICOs will open up a whole news area of scam on: February 15, 2018, 10:59:45 PM
The basic idea of crypto currency is de-centralization and anonymity. I understand that ICO will have to comply with the regulatory requirements, but isn't it directly challenging the basic idea of crypto currency? If KYC is required for every ICO, then the whole idea of de-centralization and anonymity is gone. The ICO requirement should be the other way around. Means, every ICO should provide a proper KYC documentation to the public so that investors can be assured that they are not dealing with a bot or a child operating from his home computer.

While your concerns are valid, they may not be shared by a large number of ICO investors. Ultimately, the free market will decide how to solve this problem. If there are no investors in a project which asks for KYC details, then ICOs will stop asking for KYC documents. We need not fool ourselves that they are doing it only to satisfy regulatory concerns - they always have the option of raising money in a crypto-friendly jurisdiction.
I do think most will share those concerns, the third concern is only a problem for bounty hunters and the like, but the first two are extremely important, now investors are forced to identify themselves and the creators of the ico are still in the same obscurity as before, this will create resentment among investors and the second point is the most important, how are the creators of icos going to show they are in fact guarding the information of investors and not abusing it.
1305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SBI Card likely to ban customers from buying bitcoin, other cryptocurrencies R on: February 15, 2018, 10:55:02 PM
NEW DELHI: A few days ago Citibank announced that it has banned the use of its credit and debit cards for buying cryptocurrency. Now, SBI Card has said that it, too, might take a similar course soon.

In an email response to ET Online, SBI Card said it is in discussions with Visa and Mastercard to put a ban on such transactions. Hardayal Prasad, MD & CEO, SBI Card said, "Given the government and the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) concerns around cryptocurrencies, we are activel ..

Drop them, that is the only way people like that understand they think they are all powerful, while a bitcoin user here and there is not going to make them change their stand eventually when enough people do it and they realize they are losing profits they will accept bitcoin, it is incredible they think they own us and think they can say to us what we can do with our money.
1306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I bought on all time high on: February 15, 2018, 10:51:10 PM
DOnt worry.. i felt the same a lot time ago.. buying at ATH and then.. crashhhh!
this is only for some time.. dont know how much.. 1 day, 1 week, 1 month... if you have enough patience you will earn money.. guaranteed!

PS: unless you buy shit/scamcoins..
The problem is that when you buy at an all time high you do not know for how long you are going to wait, those that bought when bitcoin first reached 1200 as an all time high need to wait for 2 years before getting back their money and it is safe to say that almost no one was able to do that after all at that point many people lost the faith that bitcoin will recover.
1307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it Ripple buy time? on: February 15, 2018, 10:43:37 PM
What do you think, Is it Ripple buy time?
If yohr answer is yes, then want to know the target around 2018 (almost one year).
If I invest 2k$ on it, how much I can get back from this?

If you're truly in love with XRP, you'll watch the bear market continuously until it begins to turn to bull. That's when it's the best time. Honestly, I think XRP will be back to 35c before it bottoms out. It was 25c for months before DUMB money in fluxed crypto (thanks to the big bang theory episode). Good luck with your purchase. Wait for a week. Tomorrow if the first day opening of USA stock markets after plummeting 666 points in a day. You never know. SMART money might move into XRP tomorrow. Nobody knows the answer.
I read about it but I forgot, I used to watch the series but like anything that is stretched for too long the series has taken a turn for the worse I did not think about it but there is a big chance that episode was partially responsible by the mount of people investing in crypto and then crashing the market and losing a fortune in the process, we cannot blame everything on them but I'm sure many did invest following that show.
1308  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons Why We Should Love Bitcoin on: February 15, 2018, 10:35:50 PM
It is a whole new invention for currency!  I don't think too many people understand this.  Its hilarious to me when people, world renowned experts like George Soros, say 'uhh, its a bubble but idk wtf it is.'  They don't see it!

It is the future, I just hope that political in fighting doesn't kill it off.  But even so, there are many other coins waiting in line to take its place.  Either way they are here to stay.
Even the political fighting is not going to be enough to destroy bitcoin, after all that has stopped more or less now that the miners created their own coin and are trying to make it the number one coin in market cap, bitcoin is in a similar state similar to computers in the 80's no one is sure why they need one but in a decade or two everyone will be using it and saying they cannot imagine their lives without it.
1309  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin back to its own rhythm again? on: February 14, 2018, 10:58:39 PM
Since last couple of weeks we see that bitcoin price is going down and down.
Is bitcoin price back to the normal and touch the highest by the end of the year ?
Is it again creating the new milestone?
We do not know if it is going to set a new all time high, it is too soon to know that, bitcoin is just recovering after the pump, but do not worry even if you bought near the top the only thing you need to do is to keep holding, now if you thought you could make a lot of profits in a short amount of time that was a mistake so change your goals and the time needed to reach those new goals.
1310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: China is blocking all the Crypto-Currency Exchange sites and ICOs on: February 14, 2018, 10:53:01 PM
China is reportedly aiming to block all websites, both domestic and foreign, related to cryptocurrency trading and initial coin offerings (ICOs) in what could be the country’s final crackdown on the industry. - CCN

What are your thoughts about this?
Is this the reason why Bitcoin and Altcoins are drowning in Bloodbaths since late January?
It is to be expected these measures keep getting tighter so if anyone can get their money out of China do it now, you may not have another chance to do it in a long time with such an oppressive regimen, it is such a shame really, the Chinese had a very strong lead in cryptocurrencies and they could have changed the world with it and defeated the US dollar as the world currency but now they are going to be left behind and if they want to get in again it will be too late.
1311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much do you tend to invest in an ICO on: February 14, 2018, 10:49:12 PM
Why no 0 ? Cheesy
If the project or platform of a potential ICO for i tend to wait its coin gets listed rather than investing on an ICO, prices are much lower during that time because of a lot of factors.
Because investing zero dollars in an ico is not really investing, don't you think? If I said I completed a routine of exercise and then you ask me what I did and I say nothing then I did not really exercised at all, this is the same, so the poll is correct since the op is only interested on the money you are investing in the ico phase and zero does not constitute an investment.
1312  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin is a rat poison? on: February 14, 2018, 10:43:37 PM
Reading all those posts on a matter I find not really controversial reminds me how childish we can be sometimes. I don't understand such a debate...let anyone say whatever they wanted to say about Bitcoin because eventually as years would go by Bitcoin can always vindicate itself.

Bitcoin is not perfect and in fact Bitcoin is not for everyone. There are people who don't believe in Bitcoin and that is perfectly fine. There are countries who are threatened by Bitcoin and so they block Bitcoin and that is fine with me. Without these people, Bitcoin can go on and on. In fact, having people who are not really helping Bitcoin can even add more problem and pressure to the boat we are in.

However, I find it refreshing how people in Reddit can get so emotional over something about Bitcoin. That is actually good as we need an active, bubbly, loyal and defensive community around Bitcoin.
I agree with this, I like freedom of speech and if I have the freedom to say bitcoin is great then someone else needs to have the freedom to say negative things about bitcoin, we may not like it and we may disagree with it but this is part of a civilized society, however it would be a good idea to have a compilation of all these comments by important people just to see if their predictions were right or to see if they change their minds.
1313  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think bitcoin has hit its peak? on: February 14, 2018, 10:39:26 PM
Hey all, I was just wondering your opinions on whether bitcoin has hit its peak already at around $20,000 or if you think it will break even higher in the future? I know there’s been bitcoin retraces of up to 80% before before it has risen a load again but I’m not sure that bitcoin hasn’t got the functionality that the price suggests.
As long as the demand is there bitcoin can reach any price, now it is true that bitcoin still has not accomplished the goal of being a currency with cheap transactions and fast confirmations that is true, but it is an incredible investment and performs a decent job as a store of value so it is very clear to me that 20k is not the peak and we are going to reach new heights but it is not going to be that soon.
1314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Newbie bounty manager on: February 13, 2018, 07:10:08 PM
I've seen a campaign with a newbie bounty manager is that really necessary? Do you think this campaign is not a scam?
Thank you for your answers.
A newbie as a manager does not mean the campaign or the project is going to scam you, however it is a good idea to take a closer look at the campaign and think before joining one, if you still believe in the project then you can join and if you don't then no one is forcing you to become part of the campaign, you can easily join a campaign by a more experimented bounty manager.
1315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many panic sellers, HODLERS and new buyers out there? on: February 13, 2018, 07:03:49 PM
It's quite surprising to see that as many voted for holding at a loss compared with holding in profit, it means they're people who got in to bitcoin in the last 2 months or so. I'm still up considerably on my initial investment and that's the most important thing. Of course it is easy to look at days gone by where I was up considerably more but that's in the past now.
There has been some pool in the past trying to find out if the users of the forum hold a bitcoin and for the most past most users do not have a bitcoin in their possession this means they are very small holders or simply cannot afford it, so those that are relatively new to bitcoin and those that have been around for long but did not had a bitcoin bought recently and as we know the prices were very inflated so it makes sense many are holding and losing money as a result of the drop in price.
1316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LEDGER NANO vs TREZOR on: February 13, 2018, 06:58:19 PM
I am about to purchase a hardware wallet.

Can someone share with me which one is better and more secure between the Ledger Nano and Trezor?

Any feedback is appreciated, whether positive or negative.

Thanks!

Both are good and you are going to make a solid purchase no matter which you one you choose, there is not one that is so much better than the other so you need to check their differences and decide which one is better for you and your needs, personally I prefer trezor since it has been around the longest and it is the one I'm familiar with but I cannot blame anyone that prefers a ledger nano.
1317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Cash is going to $3500 by June on: February 13, 2018, 06:53:36 PM
I've always been a super fan of bitcoin Cash, the only problem is that I get really confused when explaining to a 5 year old. Same thing with bitcoin. I just can't say if there's any benefit in having these coins hyped with no real world adoption underway yet.
Cryptocurrencies are not easy to explain especially if you want to go into detail about how it really works, you can explain to them with some simple examples but you are only going to touch the surface, for now 5 year old kids do not need to know that information but it is possible a 5 year old may need to know that information in the future in a few decades.
1318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $100 Investment on Altcoin with 100x return - What is it today? on: February 09, 2018, 11:11:46 PM
If any of you ONLY had $100 - what would you put it on today for the maximum return? Preferably not an ICO.
Status or Ardor will be my choice, the coins have a very good volume and Ardor seem it has finally touched the bottom and it is ready to go up once again, so those will be my top choices, but if you are really trying to find coins to make a lot of money my best bet will be on AdEx or in Theta Token, Theta Token has been decreasing in value and if you are willing to take risks that may be a coin worth looking.
1319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need input on my portfolio on: February 09, 2018, 11:05:35 PM
Is there a reason why you don't have BTC, ETH, LTC, ... in your portfolio ?
Same thoughts.
The only reason is that I believe coins such as NEO has a higher growth potential. I know many of these coins are more risky than ETH, but I have only invested money that I can afford to lose. That being said, I am planning to buy some crypto each month - and I believe most of that will be ETH.
You can also afford to invest money with bitcoin but the only thing that you will get is fewer since bitcoin's price is very much higher than those. So the answer to the question that you don't have BTC is because you are only believing to ETH, NEO and other altcoin as well but not with bitcoin?
Bitcoin is relatively cheap right now so even if the profits with bitcoin will be less than with other coins it seems worthwhile to invest in some bitcoin, you will get easy profits without too much risk, the rest of his portfolio is fine, but I will prefer to make safer investments especially since he invested a sum of money that is considerable to me.
1320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 19 year old millionaire advice on Bitcoin on: February 09, 2018, 10:57:24 PM
I read about that guy some time ago, and that was before the bitcoin pump so he is even richer now, while his success cannot be replicated by everyone this is very impressive, the article mention that young people have almost no savings and I find this to be terrible how are they going to invest in bitcoin or any other coin when they have so little money to use for their investments, the article suggest 1000 is enough and that is true but still that amount is so low that they are not going to go far unless they invest in icos.
