There's a simple one for ya, decker. It's cute that you don't understand simple physics enough that you must relate it to that of religion. So, there used to be a time in history where people believed your flat earth theory, more so known then as the "geocentric model", or "geocentrism". This model showed earth as a flat square/circular object, and believed this was the center of the universe. This figure structure was divided into two halves of heavenly bodies surrounding the flat earth. People used to believe this because you could observe the sun from anywhere on earth, so the sun appeared to revolve around us, because we are after all "a flat earth and the center of the universe". Well, this didn't go well with Galileo. He came up with a new device that helped prove the Geocentric model wrong. What was it? The mother fuckin' telescope. What did he do with this telescope? He proved that our relation to Venus was that of a rotation around the sun. How? Because when Venus goes through it's full set of phases, we, as observers from earth, are always struck with one problem. What, you may ask? We NEVER see the "full" phase of Venus. This MUST show that there is something blocking us from seeing it. What could it be? It's the fact that we, as well as Venus, are globular objects that travel within an orbital pattern around the sun. Since these orbital patterns are determined by Kepler's great explanation, then we are forced to realize that we are in a full on orbit around the sun, along with Venus. Since this is determined by the gravity and mass as constants, we are left with a constant for each orbital time period. Thus, we never, ever, EVER see Venus in it's "Full Phase". Because we are stuck in orbit. Rotating around the sun.. and every time a flat Earther loses their nuts and bolts trying to prove flat Earth, well that's just about the time we should be seeing Venus in her full phase. Which never happens. Because we are in an orbital pattern that puts Venus behind the sun while we are in front of it. In orbit. So sorry for your flat Earth theory. It had a good run... hundreds of years ago before it was disproved.
