^^^ Actually, God is the only one who can put the horizon anywhere. Anybody can aim a camera straight up, thereby not placing the horizon within view.

On a globe the horizon is a physical (solid) barrier about 3 miles from a 6' observer at sea level. With a factory modified Nikon P1000 IR camera I can put the horizon so far beyond 3 miles that the Earth can't be anything other than a plain. This is proof beyond a reasonable doubt that what we observe (flat & motionless) is in fact true.

It looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck. Even with an unmodified P900 the horizon is too far away (on a clear, cool, calm day) for any kind of reasonable explanation on a globe.

^^^ Zoom, shmoom. There are gigantic telescopes all over the place. And there are hundreds of thousands of amateur and professional star gazers who use better-than-P1000-IR telescopes all the time. There is no flat earth as shown by the thousands of amateur star gazers who point their telescopes at things on the ground at times.

Gravity theory might have been proven wrong, but, gravity was in use by all the people thousands of years before anybody even thought about making such a thing as a science theory.

You might say that a charged comb that picks up a piece of paper via static electricity, is the same kind of thing that is happening with the stuff we call gravity. But there is a difference in the standard living of people using gravity. That's why people recognize gravity. It's different than standard static electricity, at least in some ways.

However, even if it happens to be simply a different brand of static electricity, people call it gravity, have called it such for thousands of years, and will continue to call it gravity.

Why does this thread keep being answered  

Actually, it's because FE people skew and twist the evidence so that they see the reality that they want to see, rather than what really exists.

Anybody can take evidence regarding many things in life, and twist it in many different ways to show many different ideas. That's why up until the 1950s or so, hollow earth was taught in some schools in America. HE had been the prevailing idea in the 1800s and before, and many people today think that the earth might be hollow, based on all kinds of funky scientific interpretations.

The point about FE is that FE believers don't want to include all the evidence, direct observations made by amateurs and professionals alike... from on the earth, above it, in outer space, and the math of simple trig.

That's okay, because there are all kinds of weird cults regarding all kinds of things. These cult believers make the rest of us think a little, when they push their ideas as strongly as FE people push this thread.

For example, many of Einstein's theories have remained theories over the almost 100 years since Einstein made them. Why have they remained theories this long, rather than becoming science laws? It's because many scientists have found small anomalies in these theories where it has been shown that the theories are not quite accurate in all circumstances.

Cultists, like the FE people, are helping the rest of us wake up to the fact that standard, general science is not quite accurate. If it weren't for these jokers, we might go on thinking that science is totally set and accurate in its views of the way things exist. So, we welcome them for making us question things a little.

However, we pity them, as well. They seem to be lost in a condition of not recognizing that their ideas are skewed way more than they think standard science is skewed.
