Sure, you're going to have a lot of flat, wide open space so if you could bring an 83x or 120x optical super zoom camera and take some photographs.

Step #1:
   Assuming dry and clear weather conditions find a landmark of known distance say in the ballpark of 8 miles, and photograph it from an elevation of 3 feet.

Step #2:
   When you return from Antarctica calculate the distance to the horizon on a sphere with a ~3,958 mile radius at a 3 foot elevation.

Step #3: ?

Step #4: Profit.

ðºÞæ posted a map with a statement from Admiral Byrd where he says there's a an area the size the USA adjacent to Little America (Antarctica). My response was to mark the map to show where they live.



The 2nd part of the post is directed at odolvlobo who claims to be travelling to Antarctica, he needs to bring a super zoom camera and document everything.

Look at what Byrd says, quote:

The earth is flat, there is no south pole. There's a ring of ice, then mountains, then a dome wall, there is no pole for there to be an "other side" of.

If we take "south pole" to mean the ring of ice and mountains, and we know the other side of the dome wall is inaccessible then, the only way for a continent the size of the USA  to be on "the other side of the south pole from Little America" is if it's north of the ring, north of Little America.

^^^ Byrd never made it to the North Pole. He changed his log records to get the fame and whatever prize money might come with it. He missed the NP. Other fliers made the NP flight in far less time than Byrd, showing that Bird was way off course. Seems that whatever alcohol consumption I might have is just the right amount.

Since 1926, there have been doubts raised, defenses made, and heated controversy over whether or not Byrd actually reached the North Pole. In 1958, Norwegian-American aviator and explorer Bernt Balchen cast doubt on Byrd's claim on the basis of his knowledge of the airplane's speed.[17] Balchen claimed that Bennett had confessed to him months after the flight that he and Byrd had not reached the pole.[2][18] Bennett died on April 25, 1928, during a flight to rescue downed aviators in Greenland. However, Bennett had started a memoir, given numerous interviews, and wrote an article for an aviation magazine about the flight before his death that all confirmed Byrd's version of the flight.[14]

The 1996 release of Byrd's diary of the May 9, 1926 flight revealed erased (but still legible) sextant sights that sharply differ with Byrd's later June 22 typewritten official report to the National Geographic Society. Byrd took a sextant reading of the Sun at 7:07:10 GCT. His erased diary record shows the apparent (observed) solar altitude to have been 19°25'30", while his later official typescript reports the same 7:07:10 apparent solar altitude to have been 18°18'18".[19] On the basis of this and other data in the diary, Dennis Rawlins concluded that Byrd steered accurately, and flew about eighty percent of the distance to the Pole before turning back because of an engine oil leak, but later falsified his official report to support his claim of reaching the pole.[20][21]

Accepting that the conflicting data in the typed report's flight times indeed require both northward and southward ground speeds greater than the flight's eighty-five mph airspeed, a Byrd defender posits a westerly-moving anticyclone that tailwind-boosted Byrd's ground speed on both outward and inward legs, allowing the distance claimed to be covered in the time claimed (the theory is based on rejecting handwritten sextant data in favor of typewritten alleged dead-reckoning data[22][23]). This suggestion has been challenged by Dennis Rawlins who adds that the sextant data in the long unavailable original official typewritten report are all expressed to 1", a precision not possible on Navy sextants of 1926 and not the precision of the sextant data in Byrd's diary for 1925 or the 1926 flight, which was normal (half or quarter of a minute of arc).[21]

If Byrd and Bennett did not reach the North Pole, then the first flight over the Pole occurred a few days later, on May 12, 1926, with the flight of the airship Norge that flew from Spitsbergen (Svalbard) to Alaska nonstop with a crew including Roald Amundsen, Umberto Nobile, Oscar Wisting, and Lincoln Ellsworth.[24][25]

Might be, Byrd got uncomfortable, he seemed to make up a phony excuse "it's getting crowded up there" when a reporter asked about it.

...but also added "it's really usable", so we're talking about warm conditions. I've theorized there are hydromagnetodynamic pumps pumping sea water in a bi-directional cycle to cool the coils that project the celestial objects; causes the tides.

Maybe they'll cover it all up, then put on their own horror show in its place.

Antarctica is anything but flat and that can be done anywhere. I was hoping for a suggestion that is unique to Antarctica.

How as an individual can I know if the Earth is a sphere or a flat disc? What experiment can I do that doesn't involve trusting information from a 3rd party that would prove what the geometry really is?

Here is a simple experiment:
Buy a good, expensive drone. i advice you something like mavic pro.
unlock all the altitude limits and launch near a seaside.
when it reaches above 2 kms, try to check the sky line. you will see that it is curve. if you can reach over 3 kms, you will see the curve better.
You can also record it as video so whenever you think that earth is flat you can watch it again and remember that it is not possible.

Watch it again, and again, and again, then remember that it's not possible for the earth to be a ball. If the camera is 36.5 km above what is claimed to be an "oblate spheroid" with a ~6,371 km radius and there is earth directly in front of it, then the surface of the earth is an extended plain not a sphere.

What is the purpose of rotor screws?
It's main purpose is to keep the rotor in place on the hub and the lug bolt holes lined up.

^^^ You're not taking doublethink and doublespeak into account! How you interpret his [Admiral Byrd] statements changes depending on whether the earth is flat or a globe.

1. On a globe there's an area the size of the USA beyond the south pole from Little America that no human has set foot on. On an extended plain there is no south pole, it's a ring.

2. On a globe the Devil isn't real. With snakes on an extended plain there's an area the size of the USA beyond the southern ring from Little America, that no human has set foot on.
