STEP 2

level 5

RESTORE OR CREATE MISSING INFRASTRUCTURE

Faucets are still very popular among crypto community. Who of us never tried a single one? However, captcha box plus dozens of ads is not something worth attention. Our (quasi official) faucets should bring something new and be related with 8-bit spirit. So I found out that best thing will be faucet paying for gathered points in 8-bit based game.

Tetris? Arkanoid? Pong? Rapid, addicting action.

This is very basic, very early preliminary to THE BIG THING. INSERT COIN, remember? Let's back to faucets.

So, I see this as faucet with free, nice html5 game
http://www.twitchtetris.com/
http://pong-canvas.googlecode.com/files/pong_canvas.html
... and dozens of others
WARNING! VERY ADDICTIVE FOR OLDSHOOL PLAYERS

When player collects required amount of points (s)he gets a form with captcha and her or his 8BIT address, nothing fancy. No ads, just 8BIT everywhere. I pay for server, domain, maintenance, community fills faucet. I offer 150 8BIT as my initial faucet fill.

Who will write code? Yes, I can do that. But like it was already agreed I am here not take over this coin, I am here to support community takeover as much as can (honestly, immodestly, I can do a lot). So I would be happy to see someone saying now OK I WILL DO IT. Or at least, OK I will help with GFX, I will help create a layout. We are not in hurry with it, so just consider it and let me now. If noone volunteer, it will be not the end of the world - I will do it. But wont it be cool to claim - hey I did something cool here? Think about it.

I would like to help you eith it, but i wont be able to do it Sad. I hope we get some capable members to helpt with it.
At the end as a community coin, we need some developers to come here and understand how this want to be done

After yet another consideration, mangling pros and cons I decided to back to classic poll voting and picking your proposals as-is. Therefore we have:
Code:
MASTERNODE COST     BLOCK VALUE    MASTERNODE REWARD   COUNT
        888.000           1.000                0.800       6
        888.000           1.200                0.880       2
        888.000           0.800                0.600       1
       1024.000           1.000                0.800       1
        512.000           1.200                0.880       1
        888.000           1.208                0.888       1
       1000.000           1.000                0.100       1
        888.000           0.888                0.484       1
Each line represents voting option.

Voting will start within one hour. Poll will be closed on Saturday (Jul 11) @ 6 PM UTC. Each user has one vote, decision can be changed while poll is open. Enjoy and vote!

Gimme address or TXID or at least TX parameters (in/out amounts or tx size in kB). Or wait up to 5 days. Then ask again.
Fee is required, tx without it will stuck with 0 confirmations. I know many altcoins accept no-fee txs, this one does not.

EDIT: To Whom It May Concern - like I predicted it was txfee issue. Fee was too small. No bugs in blockchain nor wallet.

I'm totally new to this society, but I started several nodes. However I made a transaction, only this transaction is still not confirmed after several days. My wallets amount is around the 1.76 8bit and via this link (http://www.8-bit.party/BALANCE-) my balance is 114. So what do I have to do.
Thanks in advance
In the wallet: go to settings click options... in the main: add the transaction fee should be .001...if it says 0 you will need to wait 5 days to get it back....Make sure you put in the fee next time you send out coins....Hope that helps.

I see that folks from other communities come here and vote. All votes has to be also posted in thread (just like those Newbie accounts). Sorry for that but I am afraid our poll is manipulated. So let's see who vote to check it. If you already voted - post your vote in thread too. Votes without it will be ignored.

This is not a thing to discuss nor blame. FUD, flame, comments, putting the cat among the pigeons will be IGNORED. Thanks!

For those who wonder how voting proposals will affect coin economy, masternodes profitability and network:

+---+-------+---------+---------+------+--------------+-------------+------------+------+------------+

As you can see things get complicated. First of all number of masternodes will be reduced 10 times. At this moment we jumped over CRAVE, after fork we will land far far away.

How those values look compared to CRAVE anyway?

Code:
Masternode cost 5000 CRAVE
BTC INVESTMENT 0.40337
Masternodes # 221
Estimated CRAVE per day 2.82269082269082
Estimated BTC per day 0.00211701811701812
ROI 177d

So, according to average proposal, their masternode is two times more expensive and you have to wait for ROI five times longer.

Okay, now lets look how our proposals simulation table would look if it had been published a week ago. Let's assume 8BIT/RATE is fixed since it does not changed that much.

Code:
+---+-------+---------+---------+------+--------------+-------------+------------+------+------------+

As you can see ROI grown rapidly. So everyday ROI calculator will show that masternode is less and profitable. So attract investors we have to start from a lower bound. Sure, 8BIT/BTC can also grow a lot but it's not something I can predict for next week or month. However, number of masternodes is easy to guess. So I base on this factor only.

Why masternodes are so important? First, they are integrla part of future of this coin. Services will be served by masternodes so big and reliable network is absolutely must-have thing. Second, expensive masternodes create natural buy pressure.

What do you think?

Nice to see the numbers printed 8-bit-party. Well in my opinion it will create some buying pressure in the short run maybe, there will also be people who doesnt want to stake and give it selling on the market, so not sure of the real effect on short run.
However on the long run, if services will be delivered through mn, having a stable and strong network will be better for it.

Inflation numbers do not look right. They should be at 70% range. 30 days ROI for MN does not look healthy. MN operators will be having free coins after 1 month and will be able to sell at any price therefore moving price towards zero and own ROI to the more reasonable values.

Think how it look from newcomer side. Hey, they minted so many coins with 30-days ROI, now they change rules so my ROI is 90-days.
Making both early adopters and new investors happy is very difficult task. One would say, hey, look at bitcoin, early adopters are always preferred. But let's face the truth, without new investors, early adopters' goods are worth nothing.

Also for all those who have coins now and do not run masternode I always advise to get your coins away from exchange, move them to wallet and start staking or run masternode. If you don't know how to run masternode or you do not have resources for it find someone without coins but with know-how and resources to make co-op.

No, I don't have perfect solution nor I think it exists. Just keep in mind that there are always two sides of the same coin.

IDEA: HOW TO GET ROI LATER (NO CASHOUT WITHIN 30 DAYS) WITH KEEPING MASTERNODE PROFITABLE (BUY PRESSURE)?
MASTERNODE COST: 1000 8BIT, ROI 30 DAYS
MASTERNODE COST: 3000 8BIT, ROI 90 DAYS
AS SIMPLE AS THAT

Talking about "making investors happy" and ROI in 30 days is actually talking about ponzi scheme. You do not need to attract "investors" with fantastic ROI numbers since these numbers without real value behind coin will lead to dumping coins at the newcomers.
High inflation phase is good to provide liquidity but investors should be attracted by tech and market not false ROI numbers.

I think the easiest way to get new investors is to make it easy to set up masternodes. If its easy, people will buy. Make it so a percentage of the profits gets reinvested into new tech. This would benefit old and new investors.  Not sure how this could be done while securing coins at the same time. Any thoughts?
