Knew I had forgotten something A lot to read up. Thanks for the links. Question about the section that talks about Coinbase type accounts: is that based on the Evolution plans by Dash? The links you provided show the Coinbase accounts were being discussed and published in February last year. Was Evolution announced at that time? I thought Evolution wasn't announced until just after the Summer last year.

I don't think there is a specific 64 bit wallet. The 32 bit works great on 64 bit machines.

The links you provided show the Coinbase accounts were being discussed and published in February last year. Was Evolution announced at that time? I thought Evolution wasn't announced until just after the Summer last year. I penned the idea on using ServiceNodes to run a decentralised version of Coinbase. It was part of a line of thinking to remove the need for desktop clients and spvs which Joe Public find difficult to get their head around. Then things just progressed to why not decentralise the entire Joe Public experience from fiat gateways to crypto powered credit and debit cards; and that needs a Coinbase type of account without the centralised server model. Hence running accounts off ServiceNodes. I had never heard of Evolution or anything remotely like it coming out of Dash, well coming out of any project. I didn't copy the idea from Dash, if that's what you're asking.

Does anyone know of a project working on something along the lines of a decentralized Wikileaks?
What would be the merits / demerits of a decentralized infrastructure for such a service?
Would it be profitable as a service for SNs?
Coins, I know you had talked about a torrent service for movies / TV shows. I'm thinking a Wikileaks sort of service would be sort of similar, though I'm also thinking people wouldn't necessarily pay for it. Might be rather useful to have a place to store & distribute sensitive documents (such as the recent Panama Papers) on a decentralized network as opposed to a centralized location regardless of its value proposition.

Bitcoin has the code necessary for this already. It's part of the work that Peter Todd has done and has had pull requests accepted. Checklocktimeverify (CLTV, or whatever it is). Basically, its a smart contract for someone to sell information anonymously and get paid in BTC. Both parties are committed to the deal, provided that the provider of information shares a snippet that is sufficient to the buyer to commit to the deal. If not, the contract expires. Some of the stuff that I've been looking at for zero knowledge transactions for PoBN sort of has similar properties to CLTV. So the basics are there already in Bitcoin.

Sounds like it could be easy to implement into a service then? I looked into it superficially, it's actually a really interesting concept. The article I read about gave an example of what you had said about the contract expiring, explaining if Bob died, didn't uphold his end of the deal, etc. Alice could recover her funds after a short period of time when the contract ends. Could enable people to make a weekly Bitcoin to Altcoin SPR purchase on our future decentralized exchange!

At the moment Croatia is the country with the second largest number of SPR full nodes being run (eight in total). Haven't seen that before. Is anyone here from around those parts?

hm, interesting. Can you create a world map that shows all the SPR full nodes?

hm, interesting. Can you create a world map that shows all the SPR full nodes? I personally don't know how. But there's a pretty sweet map that is on the blockexplorer here: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/spr/#!networkIf it doesn't pull up right away go to the "Geolocation" tab and you'll see their map! Edit: When I have looked in the past the countries with the most nodes running are the U.S., Mother Russia, and France. Croatia was an interesting new-comer. Perhaps they are merely VPN locations and not denizens of Croatia. Edit 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdy4PF9zPO8&nohtml5=False well, I think if SNs are profitable I'm going to Croatia lol

Nothing emerging is a bit far from the truth. There have been multiple developments up until this point including a new wallet, the vanity address generator, a new roadmap - outlining where further development will be made, and a preview of the decentralized block explorer, which Georgem is currently working on, that can be found here: http://spreadcointalk.org/index.php?topic=727.0I can't imagine the release of service nodes being much farther into the future. Moreover, Georgem is hard at work on an update that will surely go into more detail as to the current state of service nodes. I would be remiss to not also mention the work that Coins101 has put into the project, which he has detailed in this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1403629.msg14244341#msg14244341

Any plans to move off X11 algo, with the new ASIC X11 miners, about $1,000,000 is going to robbed from the X11 system in BTC and dollars to pay for the new mining equipment.
And, who wants to be a victim of robbery! LOL
Whilst, the GPU miners don't have to take out BTC and Dollars to get a rapid return on their investment, because their investments last for 3 years.

Its actually SpreadX11, so I am not sure that we have to be concerned yet as you cant use regular x11 to mine this. I am not sure making an asic for this at the current price would be worthwhile for anyone. I think it would be nice to hear from others about this topic though

Yeah, it is about a hamster one of the guys here owns that is called Mr. Spread. Then we impatiently wait about any news (health, mood etc) for Mr. Spread's well-being and occasionally a picture or two. It's basically our altcoin tamagotchi.
