What hardware is it running on?

Its currently running on:

OpenStack KVM
4 vCores
3.1 GHz
8 GB RAM
100 GB

But it doesn't need that much.  I overspeced because of the apps that I was having developed.  Dice, android wallets etc...

Sounds interesting: Android wallet. What's the status of those developments?

Ya'll talking in past tense.

There was a great miner being tested a week or so ago.

Is this project moving forward, backwards or is it stalled?

Perhaps we blow some new life in these excellent initiatives?

100% onwards and upwards.

But, I was looking forward to that android app being completed. I'm sure we can pick that up again in the future.

There is a running [con]spiracy theory that the dead guy did the coding work and is therefore the real 'Satoshi.'

So, it could be that Dr Wright can't get hold of the 1m Bitcoins until September because of some trust that's in place.

Wasn't there another person who died that might have been involved aside from the U.S. Army veteran?

Craig is melodramatic; some of those tweets are ridiculous (NVM it looks like someone who claims he's friends with Craig "maintains" that account).

In any case, there's something really sketchy about his antics.

I'm curious if Bitcoin will actually go on a massive bull run on the halving. It has climbed a good deal the past few weeks - could mean 50% off all altcoins if you buy now and hold. Will be the perfect time to garner some collateral for Service Nodes.  Grin

So this looks like what the whole Craig Wright thing is all about:

Quote
THE DEMORGAN LTD GROUP OF COMPANIES TO RECEIVE UP TO $54 MILLION FROM AUSINDUSTRY R&D TAX REBATE SCHEME

Australia’s fastest Top500 HPC is dedicated to Cryptocurrency and smart contract research
Sydney, NSW, May 11, 2015– DeMorgan Ltd is please to advise that the companies in its controlled group have satisfied the requisite criteria under AusIndustry’s R&D Tax Incentive Scheme for an advance finding with respect to R&D activities conducted in the development of smart contract and Blockchain based technologies.

Under the scheme, companies with a turnover of less than $20 million are entitled to a cash refund of up to 45 cents per dollar spent on eligible research and development activity. Accordingly, DeMorgan Ltd and controlled companies is eligible to receive up to approximately $54,000,000 R&D cash rebate for R&D activities conducted in the 2014/2015 financial year.

CEO Dr Craig Wright said “This rebate will strengthen the group’s cash position and is an important source of funds for our development activities. We acknowledge the Government’s support of important R&D activities, and we look forward to the successful commercialisation of our Blockchain and smart contract systems research.”

The approval of the largest Research and Development Advance Finding and Core Technology reviews in Australian history from AusIndustry for Coin-Exch Pty Ltd, Denariuz Pty Ltd and Cloudcroft Pty Ltd and related companies in our group have allowed us to tune our Supercomputers to an Rmax (Tflop/s): 2,468.15 and 939.67 respectively. We expect that this will place us in the top 20 super computers globally and the fastest computer managed in the southern hemisphere accelerating Australia into a position that is well above its weight. This will result in increased technology development in Australia and help lead our country into a global leadership position.

Our CEO, Dr Wright is excited that this will allow us to start accelerating crypto currency and smart contract and property research to new levels in the southern hemisphere and to create opportunities in Australia that have not been imagined before.

In the coming years, we will be looking to expand our involvement in the region with the creation of a combined CuDA/Xeon Phi hybrid system that we are looking to develop in conjunction with SGI. Success in this endeavor would make Australia a global leader in HPC technology as well as in the emerging crypto-currency financial fields.

Mr McKeon of SGI has stated that they “look forward to a long, sustained relationship” and that together our companies will reach the highest ranks of the Top500 list.

Our company, Interconnected Research Pty Ltd is the only government authorized R&D research provider and accelerator dedicated to fostering crypto-currency specific research with the ability to allow companies to claim up to 43.5 cents in every dollar back as a rebate through the AusIndustry R&D program.

As a way of returning something to the community we are offering a free course on our systems and providing access to one of the world’s fastest HPC systems in conjunction with IT Masters and Charles Sturt University.

DeMorgan is a pre-IPO Australian listed company focused on alternative currency, next generation banking and reputational and educational products with a focus on security and creating a simple user experience. In the six years since the first company in the group started, we have completed several Bitcoin based research projects that have lasted over 6 years and are now ready to start commercialisation.

http://prwire.com.au/pr/51565/the-demorgan-ltd-group-of-companies-to-receive-up-to-54-million-from-ausindustry-r-amp-d-tax-rebate-scheme-1

To qualify for a series of tax rebates with a total value of $54m AUD, you need to have spent something like $110m AUD.  The $54m is a rebate on expenditure.

These types of incentives can be legally manipulated if you know what you are doing.

What does that mean?

Well, if you were smart enough and could demonstrate your technology competence, you could find a legal way to show you had spent $110m AUD in order to get $54m AUD; where in fact you had not spent a penny, but can still get the $54m.

Not that I'm saying there is anything wrong being done here; but with R&D it is entirely speculative and what you spend money on doesn't necessarily mean you will be a success. That's the whole point of governments offering these incentives so that businesses take risks with developing new technologies that will sustain their economies into the future.

Clever. Very clever...if he's done what I think he's done.

This CSW guy has basically been mining the hell out of Bitcoin since 2009 with other people.

They probably mined hundreds of thousands of Bitcoin and started doing stuff with them as the price started to go up.  He probably has singed off a load of Bitcoins into trusts and is waiting to get the coins back into his ownership.

Somewhere along the line, they began to play with creative accounting to gain the benefit of R&D tax credits. It's likely that the Bitcoins went up in value by massive amounts between them doing all this and they got an unexpected windfall from the value of the R&D credits.

I doubt he is Satoshi, but it does seem like this guy is loaded with Bitcoins.

Why would I think that?

The Australian Tax office.  There must be some decent paperwork linking Bitcoins with a tax reclaim that CSW and his advisers have made.

Things might have gone sour somewhere, but they would still have needed to show a decent amount of Bitcoins to get as far as they did.

Jesus, bloody, hell...

If true, these guys have millions of BTC between them.

Not millions of $$ in BTC. Millions OF BTC.

If they've been telling the tax authorities little lies, they'll go to jail for a long time.

So, basically...I believe this guy is almost the real deal. Not Satoshi, but bloody hell he's been mining Bitcoin since practically day 1, difficulty 1.

Props.
