Going to preface this question by saying it's probably dumb... But would it be possible to run non crypto-currency nodes on a overlay network?

For instance could SPR ever incentivize running openbazaar nodes? I'm not familiar with how openbazaar nodes are operated, but figured I'd ask.

I interpreted it to be a good thing hahah now I think I might have misunderstood too

Though, direct quote from spreadcoin website: "The team behind the project are proposing to develop a decentralized second layer on top of Bitcoin to link the Blockchain with APIs to facilitate a new Blockchain Big Data market."

So really the tweet should be read as: SPREADCOIN IS THE FUTURE

Yes, I too interpreted the tweet as a good sign for Spread ; but just wondering why coins101 seems disgusted.

I think that this is because they're basically stealing Spreadcoin's idea. Plus, they're saying that this is something good, so this is a lot of greatness that we wouldn't have.

But tell me, do you still live in Switzerland ? That would mean that you would be at less than 100 kilometers from where I live Wink !

Yep, still firmly located in switzerland.
In a town called St.Gallen that is.

I accidentally got on a train bound for St Gallen at Zurich airport last week.  I realised before it departed but the thought did cross my mind that I could pay you a visit Wink

Stonehenge reminded me ealier that I think more clearly on vodka.

So, expect a load of gibberish later, some of which might yield a possible solution to bitcoin instant transactions across chain courtesy of serivcenodes.  Let's face it, that's where the action will be if bitcoin moves to mass adoption / alternative to Visa and we end up with a decentralised version of Coinbase in 2 years time.

Turns out there is an example already that we can potentially follow:
