If you have a static IP...

It would greatly help the network if you could run a full time wallet.  That way we could use your machine and static as a node.  PM me, bus, or egghead if you have any questions and concerns.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

We've been very satisfied with adding a few nodes through BitNodes.

https://bitnodes.net

I have no affiliation with the service, other than using it for a few nodes. Very reliable and a very reasonable cost.  They'll even set up a "crowd fund" node for you, where people can donate to fund the node.

I think that were having issues again.  Please do not transfer any coins at this time.  If anyone knows a dev, let us know.

jjmv I sent you a pm there. The chain is having issues and none of the microtransactions are getting confirmed either.Synced to the last block but that is too far behind in order to show green. There should not be a problem with the blockchain moving due to the permanent staked coins on the exchange wallet and the dedicated nodes so there must be a bug somewhere.Added time data, samples 3, offset +51 (+0 minutes)

Things will be back to normal when some bugs are fixed but in the meantime just leave your coins where they are and do not use your wallet for any transactions. If your wallet is already backed up dont attempt to do it again.Anyone who has not backed up their wallet just wait until the issues are fixed.Your private key will suffice.

Just a quick update for everyone... We have contacted our previous dev and asked him if he could help us with the sync issue.  He is helping us out, but it may take a couple of days since he is a busy man.  I'll give another update once the work starts.

Yeah that works direct between sender and receiver without blockchain etc afaik and uses some open source crypto chat programme over tor or something so it has nothing to do with the blockexplorer as its stand alone within the wallet I think but I aint no expert either.

Is there a way that we can simply point to a link for a precompiled black or white wallet also where basically you hit say a black button on the op or website  for a black wallet and a white button that takes you to a white wallet download.I think it would offer greater choice and be less complicated?

I take it you mean something like below if you hit the black ball it goes to precompiled black wallet and white for vice versa.Yes all it needs is another dedicated link to a precompiled black wallet on the server where the wallets are located.

We may need to look at an update to the wallets soon to get the chain moving again because we look like we have passed the rubicon here. Some funds are going to have to be raised from the community this time to fix this issue so we will need some contributions shortly by the looks of things.

ANNOUNCEMENT

A mandatory update will be required to overcome current technical issues along with some changes to how the community wallet stakes in future and some other things will have to be looked at to make things more stable into the future. We will need full cooperation from the community and some form of contribution towards this essential work. Please refer to the BTC contribution address BTC: 1NcSUd8345xeVCTuiMP969Wpgxo95WZXnf or pm any team members with donation pledges. We are currently looking at approx .3btc for this so the more people who contribute the lesser the burden on the few.In the meantime do not attempt to withdraw coins from Poloniex or to the exchange etc until this issue has been fixed.

Thank You
Even some buy support on poloniex would help in order to raise funds through sale of xbc but price has dropped overnight.Maybe the issue should only be fixed after the funds are raised but trading should continue on the exchange and have deposits and withdrawls frozen only?
