Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Yes this has been of the best story in crypto history where members of a community come together and make right what was wronged by the sheer persistence never giving up and only to march through all the mundane days when all seemed lost to rise from the ashes from sheer dogged never give up attitude.Sounds a very dramatic story but very true of course.Long live the xbc etc etc.

I have had a question about how to start staking in the wallet after setting it up etc so :

When you open the wallet it will automatically search for nodes to connect to.This may take a while so just leave it open until it finds something and you should end up with about 20 connections.

Your wallet will start staking coins on its balance after 24 hours. You can also make sure that coins are always kept out of staking and a portion of your balance is always spendable by going to : settings > options and then entering the amount in reserve that you want to keep spendable.

Reserving Coins in Your Wallet so that they are always available.
Submitted by xbcadmin on Thu, 02/11/2016 - 17:52

Bitcoin Plus - XBC is a hybrid Proof of Stake and Proof of Work Coin. However Only XBC coins can be generated using the Proof of Stake. As soon as coins are in your wallet and mature (24 hours) they start to 'Stake'. During the process coins will move from Spendable to Stake inside the XBC Wallet. Only the Spendable amount can be sent from the wallet. This can be a pain when you want to send some XBC to an exchange and find that you cant because the coins are 'locked in'.

There is a feature in the Bitcoin Plus Wallet that allows you to reserve some coins so that they will always remain on reserve and available. See Screenshots below on how to set this feature up.

XBC Team are looking to hire 1 Content Writer for the XBC Blog and How To Tutorials on the XBC Forum. Payment is negotiable but will be around the $5-10 per article.

Payment will be in BTC or XBC. XBC Team will provide a list of 20 Article Titles from which to work from. The content writer must be able to use screenshots where relevant and be able to answer technical questions in a way that any newcomer would understand. We are not after massive essays just unique relevant content that the lay person will understand.

If anyone is interested please contact myself or Egghead or Bitcoinplusbus with a sample of previous work.

I have about 300 xbc left if you are interested in offering me a good price.I sold most of mine dirt cheap and at a huge loss when we need volume earlier during the year and due to this price rise which I didnt see coming myself have not been able to accumulate what I have lost so I am cashing out.PM me with offers no less than the sell price.

I had a question earlier about using the private key as a secondary way to backup your wallet.

To save your private key using "B539KQtetSJRZo3JJLc1XRNEZRzGyVgU2W" as the example address:

1. Start your XBC wallet
2. If it is locked just unlock it but uncheck "For staking only"
3. Go to menu Help > Debug window > tab Console
4. In bottom input box type the following line and press enter

dumpprivkey B539KQtetSJRZo3JJLc1XRNEZRzGyVgU2W

5. Write down code returned on few papers / files / whatever and keep it safe, that is private key for address B539KQtetSJRZo3JJLc1XRNEZRzGyVgU2W
6. Later if your HDD fails again, computer ends up stolen or something like that just use

importprivkey privatekey label

to import address to some other XBC wallet. Label is name for address that will be imported, it can be anything you want.

It would also make sense to store the wallet.dat file on another secondary disk drive or usb and if your pc crashes just get another wallet and insert the wallet.dat from the usb into the new wallet programme files. To find your executables just type in roaming into your windows searck and go to bitcoinplus files and delete the empty wallet and replace with your old copy.make sure it is named wallet and not XBCwallet, bitcoinpluswallet etc etc

Great answer. I'll get this added to the blog and forum with some screenshots later tonight.
