NEM is the only viable alternative to ETH, and IMO alot better.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

The Ethereum Classic ETC could be a very good long term investment if it survives the next few months.
Right now, many of the advanced altcoins are where bitcoin was in 2011 - back then, the price moves of bitcoin seemed dramatic - it was at $0.22 and spiked past $25.00.

What are the top 3 candidates in your opinion?

That is a botnet coin. It is not supported by many GPU miners. I think Ethereum is much better than that one.

I think FWEE coin is my best option for 2016, reasons being the coin is so ridiculously cheap atm you can buy it with miniature dust-particles. The other reason is the coin is based on really old code so there is soo much room for impovement that it just make sense to go for this one and to remember to have some fun while doing so.

Those coins are not well known altcoin and it can be shitcoins or not worth it in the future. better to choose legit altcoin like litecoin dogecoin monero.. this is i think safe altcoin that we should to hold that we can make a profit for a long time..

I dont think ETC will be the best to choose to invest because this is just ethereum made.. And i think they made it because ethereum will be convert from POW to POS and its common sense investors from ether will convert to ETC if they lucky..

I'm working with XMG as a longer term investment as I like its USP of making it more difficult to mine as the hash rate increases, it stops big players from mining all the coin and encourages lower hash rate so better for the environment. When it gets more popular it will get very difficult to mine which should cause a good increase in price. It has a low market cap right now, so a bit of a risk, but I only invested in trading profits and mining so far.
I have BCN as a mine and trade coin due to its low price, so the trading profit is high even if the difference is by 1sat (although this market is starting to get saturated, so on the lookout for an alternative)
I like to keep DOGE as there is usually a long, slow pump and dump cycle and its quite an estabilished coin
I've also started investing in LIR as I like its USP of it effectively being a bankroll for a casino site, looks like quite an exciting coin.

This week the old silkcoin (SILK) from 2014 will be able to be swapped for the new Silk (SLK). The release of this week will include:

- SLK release
- Weaver
- Official website SLK/DRKSLK
- Start of a 4 week ICO Darksilk until release
- Blockchain for SLK
- More info about the concept of SLK/DRKSLK (whitepaper)
- New wallet

A month after this release will be the DRKSLK release. This will be PoW and interesting for miners and endusers of the product. Forecasted price for SLK will be 4000+ and is very interesting for traders. SLK/DRKSLK is a complete new pegging method that will provide the first working and rock solid stabilizing coin mechanism.

Help and input from the community is always welcome and more info can be found here:

I DISAGREE 100%

XMR is mineable with most GPU, ccminer for NVIDIA & Claymore for AMD.
CPU mining is also supported.
After Hard Fork ETH isn't reliable at all in my opinion, still supporting XMR!

SILK is a great testinomy to the good that can come out of a bad situation in the crypto scene.
Hands down to Arteleis for without him we would not be where we are today!

LIR is really a more attractive coin for me, I also have invested a large amount of my money in this currency, I am earning a bigger amount of profit from this coin on weekly basis, as each week the price fluctuate from 0.000027 to 0.000016 , which is more favorable for me to double my money each week.

The Ethereum or the ETH is the best to buy at the moment. That is widely used as a method for smart contracts.

Food for thought on the FUD... No one here, mentioned steem - even though it's inflation. It don't matter it provides value to people that hasn't been done before - this is real innovation. Not some coin that  plays pure on  philosophy.  These cryptos need to serve a purpose and provide real value to humans or they will never launch. I ain't a fan boy but Bitcoin and steem provide value to people by serving a roll. Ones internet gold, the other pays people to write the dumbest shit.  Ether was pure speculation, they never served a pragmatic purpose to people in the real world.
