These threads could use a synopsis at the end of the year, I wish I had the time. I would like to see a list of shills that pushed scams as well as a list of those that made accurate predictions with a link to their post for easy access. And then a nice lock to tie the new years end Bow ontop.

Exp could see huge gains I have heard. Right now 20 cents with a 4mil supply.
only if they will decrease the block size, which is too big and miners are dumping too much, otherwise will have the same fate as shift and etheruem or all other dagger coin

Both are great projects.. sys being a little further on its roadmap and now focusing on usage partnerships giving talks at conferences and raising funds for team to go fulltime. If you read whitepaper on sys target price is $1 usd for the mechanism design to be a factor... so that may be rough guide when it becomes a widely used marketplace.. ofcourse sys marketplace is the first commercial quality level blockchain decentralized marketplace in existance.

But claiming you are "the first commercial quality level blockchain decentralized marketplace in existance" is a bit over the top, don't you think? You don't really need to compensate for the fact that BitBay was the worlds first decentralized marketplace. You have a lot of cool stuff going on. Focus on that. I think 2017 will be a great year for both sys and Bay Happy new year sid

Hey just to chime in you are right about our date and here was news media confirming it a couple months later: http://motherboard.vice.com/read/this-decentralized-bitcoin-market-is-for-legal-stuff-onlyHowever I really don't remember sys having markets if you guys did were they functional?! Were users able to download it, post orders, see orders etc on the date you claimed? If so was there any news articles or even evidence of this? I'm definitely not trying to nitpick here my friend if you guys were first by a few months thats fine, I just never heard. From the VICE article: "BitHalo, BlackHalo, and BitBay certainly aren’t the first markets to attempt a decentralized approach, but they are the first to actually make it to public beta and do away with any transaction mediators in a single stroke. Shadow, another hyped decentralized market, is still closed for development. OpenBazaar, yet another, has been in beta testing for a year, but uses third party “arbiters” to mediate disputes between buyers and sellers, giving them the power to con users if they want." Also OpenBazaar was private beta, we were a year ahead of them since they wanted to get rid of bugs before their public release. To be honest I dont really care who was first, Halo was the first in a lot of things like smart contracts and still doesn't get the media press anyways. I'm just happy to work on finishing the project.

We didn't really market much at the time because of the Moolah fiasco had so much going on, I had just joined and was learning how it all worked before starting to put my work in so really had no sense of direction until 2.0 came out which used most of the code from 1.0 but added new features like messaging, escrow, btc support etc. Here is proof: https://github.com/syscoin/syscoin/blob/master/src/offer.cpp (last push Nov 30, 2014) you can compare to offers in 2.1, they are not even THAT much different in terms of code. Both are good projects. There is no point arguing over a few months. I never heard of sys till way after BAY. That does not mean it did not beat bay to the punch with a working beta. That although vaguely interesting for historic purposes is not that important. I'm sure BAY was public first with the concept on their thread but perhaps not. Right now the opportunity is there in both camps. SYS seems to code stuff out slightly faster and is better at marketing. I still think x 100 gains are possible with sys. I would say x 1000 gains are still possible with BAY. I think BAY's approach is more interesting and maybe a better design. We will see - I am not a designer nor coder so that is my opinion that is not a fact. Shame you guys did not collaborate at the start and work together. Keeping demanding open source open source screams out we want to see how you do this so we can press copy and paste.. so please stop screaming open source it. I notice many projects that have spent years and years on design and code are withholding going open source until they have created a FAIR first mover advantage for all those loyal investors and supporters that have waited YEARS for the result of all the devs coding. It will go open source when bay is ready to go open source i.e after full release and completion of the project and time to build first mover advantage and some further updates then perhaps the source code to a much older version will be released. This is years of his work with no funding so of course he is not going to say here you go press copy and paste on it immediately upon full release. Also the community of bitbay has stated they have no wish for that to happen. The source will be released when the time is right for the source to be released like with some other novel and interesting designs. SYS is doing well, you seem to code stuff out very very quickly. Pay more attention to sys. David is an extremely nice person. Way too nice for this environment really. Hopefully he will notice that some people that seem friendly outwardly are not of entirely good intentions. I get the feeling that sadly there is no way around it sys and bay are in almost direct competition that's not to say there is not room for both. Focus on sys and leave david to focus on bay. It is quite cool there is 2 ways to create this market place. Some will prefer the way sys does it others will prefer bitbays method. I think both will be successful. I don't think either devs should start saying publically what they consider the other one should do. Focus on their own projects or it looks bad manners. I don't see david publically saying what other devs should have to do. Conduct your own project as you see it should be conducted. Sys and bay are both laughable in price consider where they should be both of these should be magnitudes higher for what they offer compared to most ltc clones with gimmicks tacked on.

About the opensource thing, I've also worked for 3 years but I've open sourced it. Either way I'm not going to change my oppinion on that just like he isn't but doesn't make me think less of him. His stance on escrow is different than mine aswell but both of us have valid points. So I think in general we think the same and there will be time when we work together on a common direct goal. Happy 2017!

Quality level blockchain decentralized marketplace? With no GUI, no escrow, and no messaging? I acknowledge the fact that you were the first to prove a marketplace can be done on blockchain. But as we both know, there's a long way from proving it to releasing something that people can actually use. That said, you have done a hell of a job catching up, and I'm always excited to see what's going on in your camp. For now I think it's a good thing we are competitors. We all need that to sharpen our game. I also think that somewhere down the line we can find ways to work togheter. I'd find that very interesting

hummm syscoin or bitbay? which to pick? Both attractive. More potential gains in Bitbay maybe? when is there market released? Im only interested in gains in MK
LOL I have said it before and I'll say it again; sys is doing a very good marketing job. But claiming you are "the first commercial quality level blockchain decentralized marketplace in existance" is a bit over the top, don't you think? You don't really need to compensate for the fact that BitBay was the worlds first decentralized marketplace. You have a lot of cool stuff going on. Focus on that. I think 2017 will be a great year for both sys and Bay Happy new year sid Happy new year munti! Syscoin was released with a decentralized marketplace in august of 2014 while bitbay released a beta in january of 2015. So syscoin came first. It always bugged me when you claimed bay was first so I did a bit of research and found out the truth. Either way they are both unique projects with great development teams. My points still stand. I still hope david considers an open source model so it will become a more trusted and vetted project. Maybe i will add DDE the day he does haha Source: http://bitbay.market/timeline/Source: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=587080.msg8391192#msg8391192Happy new year Sid! As to your other claim, BitBay not being commercial quality level, that's nonsence too. We have focused a lot on bughunting, and that has resultet in rock solid software. But I do agree that Bay has more breadth Our bells and whistles differ from sys, and that's one of the good things with competitors. Ours are of course created to take advantage of the breadth Bay offers further down the line, and also to support our focus on security. Yours are more focused on streamlining sys as a marketplace. Both are good strategies, and although I personally think ours are best, that hardly is grounds for claiming BitBay is quality level and sys is not, right? The same goes the other way around. I expect in the long run we will copy the best ones from each other anyway. Edit: If we are gonna continue this discussion, I suggest we move it to the sys vs Bitbay thread

Edit: If we are gonna continue this discussion, I suggest we move it to the sys vs Bitbay thread And in January 2015 you are saying that you had encrypted messaging a fully functional GUI and escrow working inside of a marketplace? I think both projects upon first release were similar quality but we have been able to release faster because of only having to deal with a set of hardened contracts that we created that can be mixed and matched to solve most of the problems that we set out to solve in our disruptive business model. Should there arrive a need for another (something like assets) then perhaps we will add it to the mix (I know bay can create templates quicker and without forks) but I described the design philosophy in the whitepaper about hardened contracts although I'd like to think that an implementation developed over 5 years like david was saying would be a bit better turing complete design than a rushed design by Eth and co. Either way if you are saying in Jan 2015 you had a sufficiently capable marketplace to dismiss the functionality of Syscoin to a point where one would say that Bay's functionality would trump Syscoin's to a point of nonexistance then prove it, or we can just agree that we both released in a similar state. We had offers, aliases, certificates upon creation that was the design for Syscoin 1. They all worked and worked well. We had fully usable tech via command line and had a very very basic GUI to view/edit/add to the marketplace. If you want to debate further I will look at the code to tell you exactly what I did upon release and we can compare codebases or GUIs (should you wish to make yours public to compare properly). I have put the issue to rest but you can bring it back up if you want (something you did because you felt I was wrong and still feel I am wrong in it seems). To me GUI doesn't matter much, the technology does. For the average joe it matters but we are nowhere near average joe adoption, we are at crypto level adoption first and organically grow from there. The initial quote was for Syscoin 2.1 which IS the first commercial quality level blockchain-based marketplace in existance today. OpenBazaar may be there also but they are P2P, I said blockchain-based. But in historical context the debate between the first decentralized marketplace in general can be explored further if you wish. I don't consider Bay there yet because you are still in Beta, with no release process, code coverage(or is there david?) and not open-source yet. A consensus based system being closed source is similar to a permission based system, so basically it is unreleased at this point which is reflective of price, should you release it I'm sure your marketcap will reflect it based on the quality of the design and coding, im sure it will go up if people like what they are using but at this point im sure there is work to be done because your other features probably depend on it before final release.

This is getting ridiculous
And in January 2015 you are saying that you had encrypted messaging a fully functional GUI and escrow working inside of a marketplace?
Yes!
Either way if you are saying in Jan 2015 you had a sufficiently capable marketplace to dismiss the functionality of Syscoin to a point where one would say that Bay's functionality would trump Syscoin's to a point of nonexistance then prove it,
It is not my task to evaluete Syscoins existence. I can get you a copy of our first wallet so you can see for your self, or you can just read this article that was published a two months later: http://motherboard.vice.com/read/this-decentralized-bitcoin-market-is-for-legal-stuff-onlyHere is Davids post with download link from january 12 2015 Next you say:
I don't consider Bay there yet because you are still in Beta
That's bs and you know it. We had that discussion in may 2016 Bloat not an issue in sys.. DDE won't work for network effect it's an easier implementation than arbiters I had dde and took it out for a reason.
Also next release includes moderation.
Multisig exists in sys because it is based on btc core.. it has many of the other features of btc that Bay might not have.. also sys has reselling and wholesaling with whitelisting support which Bay does not.. also Bay is not released so you can't even do a comparison until it is.. Sébastien already explained this. This seems more like a road map to current sys comparison to me.. I can put cool things on sys road map just to say it aswell.. the plugin system we are designing is also a killer feature in sys.
AS I said before these two projects seem to be targeting different audiences and niches of ecommercr. You can't compare directly even though Bay is not out with these features anyways. I believe in David and we will see some cool stuff out of him but the two projects really are complementary to the crypto ecommercr market and not in direct competition to each other unless you can convince me otherwise.
Also how does Bay allow payment of any currency? We allow btc addressed to coexist with sys and you can pay with btc.. if your using cltv then sys can also do this.
How can you claim that Bay is not released? And please don't give me that crap about open source. By that definition a lot of software that we all use daily isn't released. Actually we released a working beta a long time before sys. And we stayed in beta for more than a year to make sure all bugs are fixed. Windows client is now in release version. Mac and Linux stay in beta until we are certain that there are no OS specific bugs. We really don't want to have mishaps like locking up someone's coins, do we? So I guess the question isn't really how you can claim Bay is not released, but why you claim it. Do you fear the competition that much? You should not. I agree the projects are partly complementary, although there are some areas where we are in competition. I don't see a problem with that though. There is plenty of room for both projects. In fact I believe success for one project will help the other project because the real challenge is to get Joe and Jane used to the idea of using platforms like Bay and sys. Of course Bay is out with the features we claim to have. Anyone can check that by downloading our client Bay can allow payment with any currency because we use DDE. As stated you need Bay for the deposit. But payment can be in any currency or even clams if you prefer because the DDE takes care of the safety in the deal. So if you want you can open up a new market channel for say Dodge, and offer anything for sale with payment in Doge. When you post your offer you make your deposit, when buyer takes the offer he makes his deposit. Buyer sends Doge, seller sends item, and when both are happy they release deposit. Edit: I know multisig as technology exists in sys. I assume you must be using it in your escrow. But in the above I was talking about multisig in the meaning of being able to use two keys on my wallet. To my knowledge that is not implementet in sys yet. Please correct me if I'm wrong To sum it up: BitBay was in beta for more than a year before we launched release version. That is imo the reason why we have not have any serious bugs in release version. This in contrast to sys where I had my coins frozen in your "release" version. Last time that happened to me was only 3 months or so ago! I'd be very careful making claims you are ahead of us in regard to quality if I were you. As I have said before; sys is a great project, and you are good at marketing. But you are pushing to much now. That's not good marketing for sys or for crypto in general. Focus on the things that are great about sys. I'm out of this discussion
