I think it is Monero (XMR). The block time will increase and this will reduce the bloat of the block chain size. It also has good community support.

I think Doge will do well in 2016. Appears to have a lot of community support and development. Monero would be a good bet as well. I'm thinking Litecoin won't do so hot, but who knows

I believe CryptoBullion CBX to be one of the very few coins to survive the next few years and come out on top as one of the most important cryptocurrencies to use and hold. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=951753.0
They have just successfully hard forked to their new PoSP algorithm http://cryptobullion.io/white-paper/
CBX is over 2 and a half years old, and one of only a handful of alts released at that time. Development has continued throughout this time by a dedicated team, with honest and loyal values to the views of the community.
CBX has just turned from a hybrid Proof of work/Proof of stake coin, into a solely Proof of stake coin, using their unique PoSP (Proof of Stake Participation) algorithm. Block times remain at around 60 seconds per block, and overall annual inflation remains at 2%, with only around 969,110 CBX currently minted.
However, with the new PoSP algorithm, stakers can earn a much higher rate of interest for continually staking their coins, by receiving the interest of others not participating in staking their coins. This allows the baseline annual inflation to remain at 2%, while giving the staker the ability to earn multiple times the network inflation on their own balance. There have been a few news articles circulating recently that may be of interest.Bitcoins Channel: http://bitcoinschannel.com/bitcoin-alternative-crypto-bullion-cbx-announces-unprecedented-posp-proof-of-stake-participation-algorithm/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

Wrong. It is adaptive blocksized. The bloat does not depend upon block time, but transaction count. Transaction size will even increase further when these two new features multisig and (what's been the other? "CT"?) get included.

I think it would be good to invest in IOTA since whales participated in the ICO. Pumps guaranteed!

IOTA may or may not be the best altcoin to invest in 2016 but it is certainly one of the best altcoin to trade as there will be volatility. If you are a good trader, you have a chance to increase your bitcoin while trading this coin.

Don't believe all the bullshit on here. Stick to simple facts and economics. Getgems is going to be massive this year because the downloads have gone exponential. We are on course for 1 million download this year. Add to that the team is planning on having a simple way to buy gems inside the app. You have a million users with a certain percentage buying gems then hello moon.
Bear in mind Bitcoin only has a couple of million users of Bitcoin.

Wrong. It is adaptive blocksized. The bloat does not depend upon block time, but transaction count. Transaction size will even increase further when these two new features multisig and (what's been the other? "CT"?) get included. Bloat depends a little on the block time because of headers and coinbase transactions, and the current 60 seconds adds a lot. The same observation has been made about Ethereum and even Ripple, though the latter is obviously very different technology. As for the new features, multisig will not increase transaction size, that is one of the advantages of Schnorr signatures. Ring CT is a bit of an open question. The signatures are larger, but you need fewer of them. It will probably net out slightly larger, but with better functionality. However, I don't think reduced bloat going forward is a enough of a reason to buy Monero. If you want to buy it, find more and better reasons. Just my opinion though. Do your own research.

Coin: I think BitcoinDark, BTCD will be a good investment for 2016. Why: Because Iguana, a chrome app will be released, which will be able to run nodes for Bitcoin (BTC), and BitcoinDark (BTCD), with the possibility to run other coins as well. Eventually it will also have InstantDEX, a trading middleware, and PAX, which enables users to buy and sell pegged assets, including major currencies (USD, EUR, GBP, CNY), commodities (gold, silver, copper), ETFs and stocks. PAX will be completely decentralized.

I would go for NEM, since its cheap days are almost over.
DRKSLK is another good coin that will launch and is designed to work alongside silkcoin.
This could be one of the biggest launched of 2016.
I believe DRKSLK will be the first binary coin system.

IMO the best coin to invest in 2016 would be BTC. other than that perhaps getting some ether shouldn't be such a bad idea!

I think this is actually reasonable, and I've never been much of a fan of Ethereum. But of the top ranked coins that is one of the few where the project still seems possibly viable (BTC and ETH price has helped them put off the eventual exhaustion of funding for development). XRP seems to have come apart, so I'd ignore that. I'd throw in a bit of LTC (some rumbles about adding privacy), and maybe a tiny bit of DOGE (no idea what if anything they are doing, but its still around and that says something) and you can't really go wrong if crypto thrives in 2016. tldr: Mostly BTC, with some ETH and a bit of LTC and maybe DOGE. My own holdings are pretty close to this (though no ETH at the moment, and very little LTC), FWIW.

You should consider Emercoin, a leading digital currency and blockchain platform which focuses on innovation in all sectors of business and consumer use. We hold a top 20 position in the global digital currency market cap listing ( http://coinmarketcap.com/) and are trading at just under 0.09 cents USD. Now, I might be biased however this is quite undervalued given the numerous innovative services and features the currency has. When you compare us to the other top 30 digital currencies, what they have delivered to market and the impact the currency and underlying blockchain is having, we are severely undervalued. Also, Microsoft has just partnered with Emercoin so that we can deliver EMC and our blockchain services to the World via the Azure Cloud marketplace: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/azure-blockchain-as-a-service-update-3/
