I know this type of project is right up your alley and you've already pulled the trigger so to speak but you seem to be the perfect candidate for having your S7s hosted in a data center.  Good luck and I hope it all works out for you so you can get all of your machines pointed towards Kano!

Yes, I'm pulling the trigger.  I'm just the type of guy who prefers to do it themselves.  If anything were to go wrong with a rig, there is no one to blame buy myself or the manufacturer [Depending on what went wrong].  I feel better not being concerned about if anything went wrong, would I be compensated for the loss of a rig(s).  I've seen too many horror stories for me to risk 78 or more rigs potentially getting lost, stolen, burned up, etc... then hope they had insurance that would take care of it IN AN EFFICIENT AND TIMELY MANNER.

There are good hosting centers I might consider trusting in the future, such as, Toomin, sidehack, or Oregon Miners.  That's about it.  In the mean time, I intend to keep going here till I reach 600 amp demand and cannot add anymore.  THEN, I will see about hosting the rest afterwards.  The price savings between keeping them for myself verses hosting is very little difference IMHO.  At least during the winter.  At present, my revenue is 4 times my power costs.

EDIT:  BY THE WAY, Good job finding that block on kano.is

It's a lot of fun running my hash at Kano!  Grin  It feels good doing the right thing for Bitcoin at the same time.  Here's hoping you hit the next 4 blocks in a row!

I was a "do it yourself guy" also but I reached that fork in the road where I had to decide if I wanted to spend $$ expanding my electrical/cooling service or spend $$ on hosting.  That's when I discovered that hosting fees were lower than my electrical costs!  My S7s are being pampered at Toomim Brothers and the last of my S5s are at Mining Sweden.  My family is happy that I shipped out all of the jet engines!

I have to let everyone know that Bitmain has contacted me and went through the shipping orders and has found that on my order, there were 2 hashboards missed on the shipping records.  Whew! Shocked  That was WAY TO MUCH MONEY to loose to replace them.  So, Bitmain is still on the Good List for customer service.

Yes very nice, that's more like the sort of Overclock that we should be seeing.  Smiley

Technically according to the BM1385 Data Sheet with 12.8V you should be able to run 775MHz giving 6278GH/s  Grin Although I would want the fans running flat out for that...

Rich

Yes I tried to go higher with frequency(and fans accordingly to stay ~ 70C) but it would give higher HW errors and lower hashrate so...
I guess there are some losses trough the chains and the chips don't get the full voltage.

Good thing you held your end of the stick. I was worried for a while, if Bitmain had not given you back those blades, it would draw a pretty grim picture on what happen if your super expensive S7 does not work properly out of the box..

Well, Details:  Your Hashrate, How long you have been with Kano.is, Do you get the whole block, What is the pool charge?

Oh, by the way, Congrats!

My average Hashrate is about 21.75 THs (4 S7's and 2 S5's) and I've had my account since September to test/sample the pool.  I finally went all-in in November.  No, I got my share just like everyone else...finding a block gets you acclaim and bragging rights.  Cheesy  It's just one of those cool things that matters on the Kano.is pool...getting your worker name listed on the acclaim board is like saying I've arrived.  I think the pool is 0.9% PPLNS but the payouts are way better than I ever got with the Antpool, f2Pool, or Slush...especially on those double block days!

According to JonnyGuru, this would be a decent PSU.

http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story5&reid=283

However its expensive and you don't really need 1600w since you're going to be running it at around 12v. I'd go for a EVGA G2 1300. Cheaper. Rock solid and 10 years warranty.

Sorry, couldn't resist. I'm watching this for a while now, the times of 0.25J/GH are long over. Where's the S8 with 0.1J/GH? Keep em coming. Don't buy S7 no more, you clearly loose!

wouldn't a 1300W PSU be overloaded running a 1300W S7 24/24 Huh
I'd rather have an PSU loaded at about 80 % than being overloaded

yes re EVGA 1300 G2 on most S7, not 100% sure re batch 8 yet since it goes to 1293W at default 700mhz.
check the fact that johnny guru reports 12.15-12.24 V even at heavvy load in hot environment (I was wondering why it works so good):

Get a single rail PSU if you go ATX, 1600w evga is the best.  Batch 8 seems to pull a little more than 1300w....maybe underclock and get evga 1300w.  Also with the 1300w you dont have enough pci cables, so its gonna be 2x per blade...1600w you have more than enough.

edit:  Lepa has multiple rails and only 6 slots for pci cables...now with the double cables you get 10 total but I dont think plugging a double ended cable is a good idea.  maybe someone could chip in on this.
