Top 3 were the first release of firmware on the website for the 162 Chip Systems. The 550MHz people were informed that they were getting a slower default frequency, it was not what they ordered. Bottom 6 were the second release for the 162 Chip Systems and the first to the 135 Chip Systems. Unfortunately nothing has been said about any changes in the firmware relative to the original release.... Rich Has anyone been able to update their batch 7 with the above firmware for 625 machines? I keep getting an error when trying to use the file to upgrade my batch 7. Just wondering if anyone else has had any luck? I use chrome to download. The s7 needs the full zip file as is to upgrade.

Seems like Bitmain does update the pricing properly between USD and BTC. It's about $100 off. I contacted supported about it and they said fixed. I said nope, not yet. He said wait, takes time. haha.... It's been 3 days, same issue. I hope their tech support is better than their website / sales support.
This... I'm waiting for this before doing a big purchase...! Don't know if it'll happen... You can order direct from Yoshi in Denver with wire or BTC. Then he takes care of all the shipping issues from China and you get yours shipped from Denver.

My miners arrived, and got stuck at the customs . They are asking for the invoice (proof of payment) but i still havent heard from Bitmain. I opened a ticket on Friday. I called in USA support, talked about 10min and no help from that guy!!! What should i do guys? You should have received an email with proof of payment that shows bitcoin converted into USD shortly after you purchased them. Simply print it and show it to them. EDIT: I have noticed my most recent invoice from BITMAIN only shows BTC for payment and no USD conversion. Maybe the BTC will be sufficient. I cant give them the BTC invoice, they need the dollar invoice. Fuuuu im screwed I wouldn't suggest submitting any fraudulent documents - I'd just try again with the bitcoin invoice and maybe something to show the exchange rate from the day of purchase. I'd be surprised if customers required a USD invoice given that most things purchased from outside the United States aren't priced in USD. They should be able to convert it to USD, whether its Euros, Yen, frogskins, or bitcoin.

yeah, use Chrome, someone reported errors with Firefox before. It's been said before but it's worth repeating: Using Chrome allows Google (And the federal gov't) to know you're into Bitcoin and possibly own a miner. Chrome isn't for the guy trying to keep his private data private. Decide your expected level of privacy and proceed as desired. Personally I've never had a problem with FF and zip files. "Do No Evil" is the old motto. The new one is "If we have it, it's for sale to anyonel".

I've always updated my antminers with Firefox. No need for Chrome. I guarantee he's getting an error because he's trying to extract the file instead of just flashing it as downloaded.
I don't suggest updating the miners, though. Just set a manual fan speed with whatever firmware you miner shipped with.

What manual speed do you use? What is a safe rpm to use?

What manual speed do you use? What is a safe rpm to use? depends on room temp and clocks 3480 at 45% 3720 at 50% 3840 at 55% 3980 at 60% 4120 at 65% all of the above could be okay I do 3980 at 60%

Just look at your temps. You want to shoot for 60-70c after 10 minutes. If it's under that, set the fan speed to less and try again.

And they figure they owe you and everyone else shit all. What a fucking horrible shitty company they are. If any normal business acted like bitmain does, they'd be bankrupt with the quickness. Luckily for bitmain, they have a (hopefully temporary) monopoly for the home miner's market, and they make money printing machines so they don't actually need customers. We're just there to reduce the risk they take in developing hardware. All they're good at is making decent hardware and shipping. Everything else is a complete shit show.

Batch 8 / DPS-2000BB efficiency measurements teaser shot: Waiting on a 500A shunt to finish the DC draw measurements but I hope to get the WallJ/TH numbers up soon. I will say this particular Batch 8 hits 5TH/s with no drama. And... it keeps the DPS-2000BB cool w/ exhaust at the same time

Mine won't overclock for shit, in fact they can't even reach advertised speed. Have you found a way to increase voltage delivered to the chips on B8?

So far all I've done is increase the clockspeed through the web interface! I haven't looked at chip/chain level voltage at all, even to measure it. Luck?

Yes definitely Luck. My Batch 8 using the same 220V IBM 2KW won't change in hash rate by moving to 775 or 800M. Have to increase the voltage to see some gain like what Phillip did.

If you look at 700 it's already pushing freq compared to where older S7's were on lower freq as shown below:

Mind posting a screenshot of it after running for a few hours at ~5TH/s?

I don't think the S7 will keep anything cool with it's exhaust. =) The 2 box in my garage is raising the ambient TEMP of my garage by 14 degrees. I do have 2 Ultra KAZE fans on the 2 x 2KW IBM PSU that do push a lot of air and the PSU runs very cool and those fans is powerful enough to push thru the PSU and keep 1 side of the S7 quite cool. As Prelude said, would like to see the numbers after it's been running a couple of hrs as I'm definitely interested in seeing it as I have the exact same setup.

Well they have 1) the best gear for sale - watts per gh 2) they ship pretty fast 3) they sell at a better price then anyone else 4)the gear works pretty well All of the above is true. 5) if there is any kind of a problem they are pretty much fuck you. Now I am not the biggest buyer they have had but I purchased 15k in s-7's and 2 k in s-5's and 5k is s-3's and 5k in s-1's and 5k in u1's and 2k in u2's I wrote fix it threads and reviews for much of the gear. And I have fixed a shit ton of their miner issues on support posts pm's etc. when you have 2 pieces of mining gear in the entire world to choose from S-7 Avalon 6 it is hard to get service or gear.
