here are the possible quarter-finals of the Indian Wells tournament (Atp1000):

Federer vs Thiem/Chung
Dimitrov vs Kyrgios/K.Anderson

A.Zverev vs Sock/Pouille
Cilic vs Del Potro/Djokovic/Nishikori

For me there will be a final between Federer and A.Zverev.
Interesting to see the returns of Raonic, Djokovic and Nishikori.
I want to see Federer facing Chung , it would be a great contest because Chung's defence is amazing and he is agressive too like Federer . I am guessing , it will be a djoker Federer finals.

It would be nice to see a final of Federer vs Djokovic, but I think this tournament comes too soon for Djokovic as I don't think he is 100% fit.
Yes. He came back to soon as he fell to Taro Daniel. I had to look up what his name was cause I haven't heard of him before today.
Alot of major players have fallen this tournament. And Federer almost had everybody having a heart attack this afternoon with his match as it went way longer than his normally needed to dispatch a low level player compared to his status on the ATP circuit.
Who else is yet to fall before round three begins? Undecided

Taro who? I also never heard of this player before, most probably the biggest win of his career  Grin. It is strange that many top seeds are struggling right now. We could have a surprising winner of the Indian Wells if this trend continues.
Well Djokovic wasn't really confident and hence mentally weak which is the main reason for his loss but I don't want to take any credit away from Daniel , I have seen him play before he plays some good tennis . As far as surprise winner is concerned I would say NO because of Federer and some good players like Del Potro , Thiem .
It's obviously that Novak is not physically well prepared for tournaments. To see him watching the balls going near him and not reacting at all is something that we couldn't see since 2009,2010. He is incredible talented player but his physical condition was one of the main reasons for his amazing results and achievements of his career. I haven't seen that he had any problem with his elbow which is good. He will gain stamina by working hard. He said that doesn't think about the titles as a priority for now, he just want to play without the pain and to feel good on the court. He tested his form, not the best one right now, but we will see what will Miami bring to him.
Elimination of A. Zverev is and is not surprise for me. Young guy is not constant in his form. It's not his first time to get eliminated so early from the tournament, but there's time for him.
Roger is playing today again and that will be third day in a row for him. Things like that could be pain in the a.. for players. Krainovic is playing tennis of his life but I don't think that it is enough to make any problem to Federer.
And from gambling side, 1.5 on Aguts win against Coric is quite good bet by my opinion.

Many surprises in Indiana Wells!
already eliminated: Dimitrov, A.Zverev, Pouille, Djokovic, Scwarztman, Isner, Fognini.
Nadal, Goffin, Kyrgios and Nishikori instead did not participate.
Compared to the past few years, injuries and physical shape are more decisive.

Alot of players I did not think would make it this far in the tournament have made it through to the second round of Indian Wells including a player from India Grin by the name of Yuki Bhambri.
He beat Pouille yesterday and is playing Sam Querrey right now and is fairing very good up to him.

Tomorrow looks like a good set of matches as you see some familiar faces so it might be a nice day on the courts to watch some good tennis. Smiley

This year finally seems a positive year for Del Potro! he started the season positively and above all without any injuries and can this year improve his best ranking (4th) and get for the first time in his career on the podium.
Among the young players, Chung exploded and he can reach the top 10!

He does seem to be holding his own against Leonardo Mayer as of now.
Down a set but is pushing a tie break in the second set. He is the master of extending a rally in the later part of his matches and at this stage in the tournament they have best of three sets so he has that insurance to be able to lose a set and end up winning it.
Surprising how far Chung has reached in this tourney since he beat Cuevas and is up against Roger Federer tomorrow.
I think his journey has ended as he is the big boss in these challenges. Cheesy

It seems to me that Federer is the only top 10 player currently in form. Cilic has ok form as well but for some reason he is always awful on this tournament. Since I am from Croatia I have mostly watched matches from domestic players and I must say that I am very impressed how Borna Coric and Petra Martic played this week. OK, Petra is out but she played great match vs. Halep yesterday, really enjoyed the contest.

the young Coric is the first semifinalist at Indiana Wells!
now Federer will play against Chung and if he wins he will keep the first place in the ranking (for many months).
I expect a final between Federer and Del Potro

Well most of the players are currently injured and those who recently returned from injury are still not back to their best yet and even when they are their best, i doubt they would prove troublesome for Roger Federer who is enjoying a fine rejuvenation at this period.

Correct most of them are physical injuries or have a some sort of mental or personal issues to deal with. Just glad that Roger Federer is the last man standing and has taken care of his health up to this level. Remember last year and this year, he chooses which tournament to enter so that it will reduces pressure on his mind and body that why is is like Federer 2.0 so much energy and somewhat rejuvenated.

King Roger like good wine seems to improve getting older.
He is already in the semifinals at Indiana Wells (without losing 1 set) and if he wins the next match he will improve his personal record of consecutive wins at the beginning of a season (17).
The next record of 100 won tournaments is very close.

Yes Roger did get through the match in the second set very quickly to do away with Chung like he was an amateur player on the circuit.
Next up today is Sam Querrey playing against Milos Raonic.
I would think Querrey will out match Milos since he hasn't been in good form for the last year of playing.
And Sam is playing on home soil which usually influences the crowd's reaction when winning at this tournaments.
Whether this plays a part to their game we can only wait and see from today's result. Smiley

Federer is just incredible! With this form, I can't see anyone who will be able to beat Roger for the title on Indian Wells.
Chung is also busy on a strong year, semi final at the Australian open and now quarter final at Indian Wells.

BIG WINNER!

Federer is just incredible! With this form, I can't see anyone who will be able to beat Roger for the title on Indian Wells.
Chung is also busy on a strong year, semi final at the Australian open and now quarter final at Indian Wells.

When they say old is gold they mean the older Federer gets the better he gets, yes I remember he was very particular and choosy where to appear and which tournament to drop. He knew his body was not ready for every tournament and he made smart decisions right from the start. He's in a incredible form and I wish he continues to be like this for a very long time to come, it'll incredible if he adds another title under his belt.

It is too good to be true as Federer just disposed of Coric in the final set of three.
He lost the first set which had people beginning to think he was going to lose this one and even a rumor from a past tennis player who turned tennis announcer to say he had a back injury he is hiding to even post it on twitter.
But going into the third frame Federer showed everyone he did not have any problems and sailed thru it to win the match.
Classic Federer in my opinion. Grin

Congratulation to Roger Federer for making it to the Indian Wells finals where he is expected to face either Del Potro or Milos Raonic in the finals of the competition.

Federer won today but Coric played an excellent match. Didn't know he can play that good and I watched quite a lot of his matches. It looks like Delpo will make short work of Raonic as it stands now Smiley

Federer faces Juan del Potro in the finals of the Indian Wells today. In the last six games that the two stars have faced each other, del Potro have managed to win just a single game and that was the quarterfinals of the US Open last year. Tipping Federer for a win today.

He has an edge against del Potro but it doesn't mean that its going to be an easy task for Federer. First set belongs to Martin and they are tie 3-3 in the second set already.

I wanted for Federer to win the match, but it looks like Martin is playing very good as of the moment. Although its still have not finished, del Potro seems to have the edge and for Roger to win, he needs to be raise his game again. Lets see how will it pans out in the end, I'm currently watching it and rooting for Federer. Personally, I don't like del Potro, he seems to have this kind of attitude, so boastful.  Smiley

Federer just managed to take second set in tie break. This is some great tennis we are watching in the final. Both guys are striking the ball well, that goes double for the forehands Smiley

It was not enough for Roger Federer to take the win.
He dug himself in a hole he could not dig himself out of in the final set when the games were even at 6 and he was down 6 points to 2 in the final frame.

Juan Del Porto wins a masters 1000 for the very first time in his career.

Well done! Grin
