Serena will get a hard time getting back in top form as before, but I don't rule her out for the upcoming grand slams. She will be highly motivated to show everyone that even after becoming a mother, she is still the best in the world.

Also in the Miami tournament, Roger Federer will have to defend his first place in the atp ranking! He will have to reach at least the quarter finals to stay in first place.

It would seem that Serena Williams is having a tough time getting back in form after her pregnancy. She got knocked out yesterday in the first round on the Miami Open. I guess stakes on her for next coming months should be done with caution. It's really not going to easy for her, as she has aged in the game, and also has become a mother. I will not put it past her to bounce back strong tho.
1. Yes, she needs more time and confidence to be back to her full form 2. Osaka is just playing the best tennis of her life right now , he would have beaten anybody in that first round match with that quality tennis. Serena Williams is back playing since 2 weeks only , she didn't play tennis for almost one year so coming back is hard specially at his age now , we already saw her getting out from health problems and she comeback strong after that and dominate the tennis courts for long time , also we can not blame her for losing against Osaka who is playing his best tennis right now and was the winner of Indian wells tournament last week so she is very confident and strong . So for Serena she has not to feel shame for that loss . Yea I agree totally with everything said. But one argument being made is on the seeding. And that Serena should be amongst the top seeds due to her profile, despite the fact that she has been out of tennis for over a year. If she were a top seed, she wouldn't be facing top opponents early on. She would have a few games under belt and work her way up.

What about protected rating? I know that players which suffered injuries can use protected rankings on few tournaments. I would think that Serena has that option but she is waiting to use it after she manages to get some of the form back trough training. These tournaments are on her home ground I just think she decided to show herself and see where she is at the moment.

Given the current of Federer, I don't think it will form a problem to reach the quarter finals. I am curious to know if we will see, like in Indian Wells, a lot of early exits of the "bigger" names.

Federer has an easy draw: Kokkinakis then probably Verdasco and then one between Mannarino and Carreno-Busta) Meanwhile, there are already sensational eliminations: Goffin,Bautista,Djokovic!

Đoković lost again. He made strike of three losses, first time after 2008 if I remember right. He simply doesn't feel fit, and it's clearly he needs rest. But, it seems he doesn't get it, since he signed for Miami in doubles category as well.

He is no longer concentrated in the field and lately he suffers from self-esteem. I hope that he returns to be the "cannibal" of a few years ago.

I totally agree, mental thing is more difficult to hurdle than physical. And not just in tennis to be fair but all sportsman who's on top but suddenly goes down needs to be mentally tough if they wanted to come back and claim the throne. We have seen Tiger Woods out for many years but it looks like he's trying to come back this year. I think he has already fought his demons that's why he is showing very good right now. I'm sure that Djokovic can comeback maybe next year and be the same "old self" or even stronger.

Paire is one of those players which can play much better then their ranking or much worse depending on his mood. I am interested to hear if Djokovic was bad and lost or maybe it was simply that Paire played out of his skin and won a match. I am looking at today's matches to choose something to play. I am thinking Coric, Shapovalov & Zverev will win. They all play first match in the program and odds are between 1.45-1.55

And it was only because Victor double faulted in the tie breaker to give him the match. I bet on him early in Indian wells and he lost to a young player and I won't forget that loss. Coric is coming off a good performance so I would bet on him but not on Zverev as he is off his game in the last two tournaments as well.

All three won but only Shapovalov was an easy win, Zverev needed 3rd set tie break.

I hope Đoković will manage to work that out until season on clay comes. The world tennis needs strong Novak and it's obvious. Without him, world tour is a bit boring. Yes, Shapovalov was pretty easy match to bet on. And the odd was quite good though. I think Careno Busta will win easily as well.

From today games I think Delpo should win comfortably against Nisihikori. H2H is heavy on Delpo side and Nisihikori has just come back from the injury.

Roger Federer was ousted from the Miami Open as he lost his second game row in the Miami Open as he fell in three sets to Thanasi Kokkinakis. The defeat robs Federer of his World Number 1 position and it seems that he will no be fighting for it as he said that he will not be competing in the upcoming French Open as well.

Yes, I bet on Delpo as well. But, he might be tired since he won both Acapulco and Indian Wells in a row. We will see... Also, I added Krajinović and he is doing pretty well for now.

I am thinking Delpo still has some juice left but we will see. The match should start any minute now, players are warming up as I type this. Good pick on Krajinovic, I skipped that one because of Paire. If Paire has his day he can beat anybody and if he has a bad day he can lose from juniors. No bet for me when such unstable players are playing.

his defeat is truly resounding, perhaps he is tired. He has indeed stated that he will not play for the next 3 months. he will lose the first position in the ranking atp after this tournament, but Nadal must defend many points so I think that Federer also without playing will soon return to the first place for so many weeks.

Must of been from him just coming off of injury because Juan Delpo has been working like a mad man winning at Indian Wells from what some are saying was the best match they have ever witnessed before. Some good odds on him @1.40 before the match started. I would suspect Nadal will be losing his matches when he gets back as Djokovic has been doing for the past matches he has had since his return back to the circuit.

Great start of the season for Del Potro! He is already in the semi-finals and if he wins the tournament he will do his best ranking by climbing on the podium for the first time in his career! Moreover he can reach the first place too!
