At Hamburg Open 23 years old Italian stun Russian who is unpredictable and fail to keep consistency in last few months even he is still at ATP no 8 but never achieve anything high with reaching in quarterfinals of all 4 grand slams is best. At French Open today all big players win their matches easily Alcaraz, Ruud, Rune and Tsitsipas won their matches in straight sets now after few minutes Sinner is going to play his first match.

WTA is also having not surprising as Keys, Badosa and Swiatek also won their matches English player Raducanu faced tough challenge in first round match against Chines player and won match in 3 sets.

The first game won without problems against Rinderknech.I think what many players, top players and less popular players alike, brought up about the double morals that the WADA applied to Sinner for his substance abuse is correct. While I agree that mistakes can happen or maybe actual attacks by mixing something into a drink or food, everyone should be treated the same. If another played had been found with the same diagnosis, most of them wouldn't have played the French Open this year.

If Djokovic's therapist had used a spray to give Djokovic a massage, I believe he would have gone crazy because all these professionals should know better, the therapists included.

Perhaps 3 years is too much, but how this was handled can't actually be considered a penalty and while I am all for fair sports, I hope that a player with a lower ATP rank runs into the same problem. Then the WADA got a problem because they have to treat that player equally and they wouldn't want to do that. There are many different ways how you can get the wrong substances into your body, but a therapist of the world no. 1 using a spray with steroids?

If Sinner has received a favoritism its a shame.
We cannot know. I would not judge the whole story just because we don't have the real clues of each case.
Anyway this specific case has highlighted a problem about doping procedures. If this is true (people sanctioned for years just for nothing) there is the need of a check of these requirements of the process.

Was watching Novak Djokovic play on the Philippe-Chatrier court and remembered the greats like Federer, and Nadal..and when I googled Nadal the great clay courter...man it was an emotional tribute I found, you could tell that the man loves his tennis..but of course will be playing it once in a while from home.

And that trio support from Djokovic, Fed and Anfy Murray...priceless.

Pure domination from Fonesca against Hurkacz its like the ranks were switched between these two players. This show that Fonesca is currently the biggest talent that is raising and i think by end of this year or maybe next year he will be in top 10 for sure. Hurkacz might have been tired from the final a few days against Djokovic,but you cannot lose this easily in straight sets

The name Is Gigante (Giant in Italian). The same thing that he do beating Tsitsipas in 4 sets! Really impressive to see how many strong players are coming from Italy in the same time.

Ah Fonseca has great potential and is still very young. He already has
a lot of matches behind him and has gained a lot of experience for someone
so young. He plays Herbert next so should have a good chance of progressing
onwards to next round.

Meanwhile has just won Sinner against Gasquet. Not too much to say, the Italian player has dominated the whole match (and all previous matches have the same outcome so defintely expected).
It seems only Alcaraz is the right opponent for Sinner ...

Today is the last day for second round matches, some had already been completed while some are in progress. Jannick Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev and almost all of top players registered wins on their respective matches and advanced to the third round. Novak Djokovich's game is on and he's about to win it with ease.
The greatest surprise that came today probably is the loss of Jakub Mensik against Henrique Rocha. Rocha is like around 200 in ranking while Mensik is 19th at the moment. Rocha on third round would meet with another surprising entry, Alexander Stanislavovich Bublik who beat Alex de Minaur yesterday.

Yes Sinner is on top of things and this is one indicator that observers were watching out for after he was found to have clostebol in his system. It naturally raised the question whether he had demonstrated any obvious signs of performance enhancement, but the reality is that he is playing on a level of its own now when he is provenly not being accused of having performance enhancing drugs in his system. It is not the best excuse, but at least it is a pleasing indicator.

Alcaraz has had more bad days than I thought. Sometimes he is struggling with daily form. Sinner isn't really.

I think Alcaraz is going ok, he won quite easily against Marozan yesterday even by
dropping a set.

As was expected today I think Cobolli beat Arnaldi, Cobolli is playing really well,
hopefully he goes far.

Another slight upset today, Bublik beat de Minaur, I dont think that was expected!


On the Womens side I dont think there has been any upsets but I did notice that
Sabalenka, Swiatek and Paolini are all on the same side of the draw so there will
be some fiery matchups ahead.

Well I never heard of Džumhur before, I think Alcaraz had it under control even
losing another set. The sets he did win were all very comfortable, 6-1, 6-3, 6-4.
He plays Shelton next which will be a slightly tougher test.

Musetti whom I watching came back from dropping the first set to win against Navone.
Musetti is 8th seed here and plays Rune next, thats a big challenge for him.

Yesterdays matches on the Womens side had no upsets, Paolini, Sabalenka,
Swiatek and Zheng all through.

Džumhur yesterday was able to get a set from Alcaraz (even the crowd like a lot the move...)
Right now Sinner has just completed another great win smashing the opponent Jiri Lehecka in 3 sets (6-0 6-1 6-2)
Lehecka is a good player, but not the guy that could aspire to the title here in France. However this resul seems to hard for him and another clear signal of exceptional current shape of Sinner.

He had it under control of course and losing a set doesn't mean much. To beat Alcaraz you have to win three sets there and it's a little bit of a difference to have Alcaraz taking a little break and giving a away set compared to beating him over the full distance of three winning sets.

But I brought that name up because I haven't heard of him and I think for any player unknown like him, beating Alcaraz and if it is only in one set, is amazing. It is motivating I believe for newcomers. They know that maybe this wasn't the highest pressure Alcaraz had ever to cope with, but there aren't many players who would have steal a single set from him.

Well done to Musetti for beating Rune, and to get it done in 4 sets, I thought it would
have gone to 5 sets but Rune is not at his best ATM. Musetti faces Tiafoe in the quarter
finals. He should win this also in my book!

I'm sure Talon Griekspoor was laughing his head off as was Zverev when they were
paired off against each other tomorrow, only for the 10th time, its getting a bit tiresome
now, the H2H is 7-2 to Zverev.
