Is there a relation between the Project Jinn and IOTA ?

yes

Price of Jinn has risen.

yes, but imo thats just the effect of the underlying NXT rise

Can you explain? I didn't do text txt. I only generated address that contained balance.
For testing I used other accounts.

I have no SEND or RECEIVE in my genesis account (just claim and address generation) - is it all safe?

You only need that if you want to avoid that your test-TXs could get replayed.

Wait, why should I send everything from my current account to a new account? I don't get that? My seed has been given to no one.

Wow guys hold on.

The only thing to do today is :

1. If you claimed your iota before, then open that old wallet with your seeds in the very last client available :
https://github.com/IOTAledger/iota-gui-beta/releases/tag/1.0.0-minus1

2. Generate one address and wait for 3.8 Ti to appear in your balance.

3. Repeat 2. until you get to your total amount of iota.

4. Close your old wallet, create a new one, create a new address and write it down.

5. Reopen your old wallet and send everything to the new wallet.

Done.
If you didn't claim your iota, do nothing today.

Right now the network is lagging and new transactions do not seems to confirm, I suggest to come back tomorrow until devs figure out.

Yeah its a bit weird. I think this was instructions for people that were testing and sent TXs during testing. CFB seems to be being extra cautious about this. At any rate I would suggest sending a 1 iota test transaction to new address to make sure you didnt f*ck anything up copy and pasting, etc and creating new password etc.

If someone hacks SaM (which is not used anymore) they could get your seed. Also, transfers from snapshot accounts can't be replayed.

Sorry? SaM is what?
I'm confused, since I generated my own seed - and that was done client side, how can anyone steal it?
Clarification on this is important!

I run the latest nostalgia from minus1.0.0 package,
Nostalgia 0.7, 6492 bytes.
sha256sum 11d96de9a80b001befef6d6a789fe0408259b0521f494fa3a6b67fab56dac159

I don't think nostalgia.html changed since 0.9.25-26 and it did work in 0.9.25-26, so what could be wrong? why must I send my seed to a remote ip, nostalgia doesn't encrypt the seed and the link you post is not https:// ? Bad security practice, and doesn't explain why 0.9.25 had no this issue. Can we debug it please and make it work for people who hate GUI?

Nostalgia did change.
I wrote "stored locally".

I am using the latest nostalgia.html from iota-1.0.0minus release, port 14265 talking to localhost. It doesn't work. File size and sha256 sum of my file are posted above.

I've extracted nostalgia from 0.9.25-delta release to compare, it worked for me a few days ago, a few days ago I successfully generated new addresses and saw my claimed balance. nostalgia in 0.925-delta is the same file size, same sha256 sum as in minus1.0.0.

Nostalgia did not change between 0.9.25-delta and 1.0.0-minus.
But it stopped working in the latter. Can you explain it?

The only difference is I am now running IRI.jar 1.0.-1 release and had deleted addresses.iri, approvers.iri, digests.iri, scratchpad.iri, transactions.iri before running 1.0.0.minus.
I was able to run getNodeInfo and getTips in curl in 1.0.0minus and these two commands worked didn't try others yet, will keep using curl if I must, but nostalgia should be fixed if this is a bug? Can you tell me what you mean by 'stored locally' and why this stored locally doesn't work when nostalgia is latest and the same as the one that did work? I am sorry if it's too many questions. The announcement was Iota is still beta software, well here is my beta test and bug report. It's not the first time I run Iota nostalgia and I know what I am doing, at least to the point where I should see my balance after submitting my seed. This part broke and needs fixing.

Do I need to sync more transactions to have my seed grant me access to my balance again or should it start working instantly or somewhere in between instantly and downloading all transactions?

Clarification on this is important!

At this point it becomes too technical, better do as suggested and ask questions later when we have more free time.

sha256 is the same, bytes are the same.
Does it matter if I use the one from iota-1.0.0minus package?
Which nostalgia do you recommend to use?

I've just stopped 1.0.-1 jar, launched 0.9.25-epsilon jar and can log in with the same nostalgia. wtf? Can I keep using 0.9.25-epsilon to send transactions?

Let's analyze this situation logically. Are the versions in log (caption) different? If yes then SHA256 can't be the same, if it is then you have just found a collision and have won very good money.

Nostalgia 0.7 works with 0.9.25-e.
Nostalgia 1.0 works with 1.0.-1.

Nostalgia 1.0 works with 1.0.-1.

well then how come Nostalgia 0.7 is in iota-wallet-1.0.0-minus1.tar.gz package that I downloaded from github?

Was included automatically, we don't longer support Nostalgia, 1.0 was created by me for myself.

Great. So I am right that nostalgia packaged with 1.0.0minus1 and 0.9.25 are the same nostalgia, with the same sha256sum Smiley Can you share nostalgia1.0?

Ok, last question. Is 0.9.25-epsilon and nostalgia0.7 fully functional to use to send txs over live mainnet today? Smiley
