Wow guys hold on.

The only thing to do today is :

1. If you claimed your iota before, then open that old wallet with your seeds in the very last client available :
https://github.com/IOTAledger/iota-gui-beta/releases/tag/1.0.0-minus1

2. Generate one address and wait for 3.8 Ti to appear in your balance.

3. Repeat 2. until you get to your total amount of iota.

4. Close your old wallet, create a new one, create a new address and write it down.

5. Reopen your old wallet and send everything to the new wallet.

Done.
If you didn't claim your iota, do nothing today.

Right now the network is lagging and new transactions do not seems to confirm, I suggest to come back tomorrow until devs figure out.

Thanks for these tips!!

in step 5, we send 3.8 Ti to each address, is '3.8 Ti' an approximation, or the exact amount we send?

edit: in other words what is 3.8 Ti in iOTA?

Nothing to do, you lost your money.
Escrow is important in these situations unless you trust the person or can afford to take the loss.

Sure, he owes you and many other people - but he is GONE. The point is you got scammed and would have needed to take certain precautions to prevent this from happening (escrow).

I'm not sure much can be done about it now.

You obviously didn't do much research to jump to that conclusion? Just look at his post history.

At the end of the day he did own some iota, but he screwed people over for profit. He was able to do that because people were silly and didn't use escrow despite constant warnings from everyone in every bitcointalk trading thread that has ever been posted. You can't really go blaming the devs who had no way to know and who do not have a responsibility to police private, consensual bitcointalk activity around their project - it's a bit ridiculous to try to offload blame on the devs for allowing this to happen!?  Undecided Own your mistake dude and don't repeat it... trusted escrow who you double check to ensure you have not been given clone username etc. There is no other option, if you trust a stranger then you must consider your money gone and it is really 100% your own fault. Trying to pass blame looks childish.

It is 3.812798742493 TI exactly. You can see it when you receive it and click on the balance. When you transfer your coins to your addresses in your new account, do it one transaction at a time, namely doing your second transaction after your first tranction gets 100% persistence (confirmed).

Thanks! For some reason all of my neighbors are showing as 'null' ... using windows. When I claimed using the previous version I had no problems. Is there known problems with firewall settings etc

IOTA Foundation is still short ~22.2 Ti (~2220 Ti). If rest funds don't get raised in time, IOTA will fail*. Please Donate ASAP, this might be the last chance to save your investment!! http://foundation.iotatoken.com/

Dead line for Donations is 19.07 if I recall right.

*This is my Personal opinion.

Some of us can't donate yet. So they should extend deadline.
If the minimum goal is not meet in July 19th, what will happen? How to deal with the collected 116.8296 Ti fund as of today?

And will developers stop development and our IOTA in hand will be a sh*t? This will be a disaster.

Do we need to uninstall old version and delete DB before installing latest version v1.0.0-minus1?

Also, when moving genesis account to new wallet what are the pro tips, do's and don't's - I get the impression from slack that many people have had troubles. Is there a summary of moving genesis steps?

I believe yes, it is advisable to delete the DB files before installing the latest version. Exchange some node IPs in order to have a sound neighbour list and leave it running for the sync. It usually catches up really fast.

Please everyone stop spreading this misinformation. The user was clearly talking about the app. When you use the app you don't have to do anything. If it is necessary to delete the DB, the app will do so itself. User has to do nothing.

Sorry didn't want to understand that devs are guilty at any point. It was my mistake for sure. I am watching for scams but want to tell that have feeling that he is from dev team and in that terms made mistake. NHF at all just bad point.

There was no information whatsoever to even suggest this. The very first post of both speculation threads(where you posted) also make this very very clear. You're not at mummy and daddy's place anymore. Due diligence is required.

I have tried to warn the ppl on april 12th. but now i see my post were deleted Sad Here is what i can find in my history:

As i asked child harold, where that negative feedbacks came from he stopped instantly chatting with me :|

Quote from: child_harold on March 23, 2016, 09:12:32 AM
@nrg1zer: DO you know your PM contained a png linking to a malware site?
My tools detected it before I could view it.

The only time I ever had neg feedback was after I began defending Bytecoin against Monero (over a year ago iirc) and smooth saw fit to neg me. smooth withdrew that neg feedback shortly after I stopped supporting Bytecoin publicly. When I asked nrg1zer why he thought Id ever had neg feedback he linked me to a png hosted on a malicious site. Obviously I ceased communicating with him after that.

Notwithstanding the fact I have already paid out IOTA to several individuals (with the assistance of CfB) I am disinclined to engage with this sour grapery. Besides, my work speaks for itself

Having said that I will "keep the peace" and you may regard my remaining IOTA offers closed two hours after this message is posted.

After that Ill PM all buyers who have not received their IOTA after the simple GUI wallet is released. 48-72 hours after that distribution will begin assuming the network is stable and CfB approves.

regards,
CH

Malware? Are you kidding? I only uploaded an image to show you what i was meaning...
Here is another screenshot of what i get, when i click on your trust. Maybe im wrong, but that feedbacks made me nervous and you just ingored me after i asked you about.
I will keep the peace too, but like i said your behavior made me nervous thats all. Maybe the screenshot will explain my doubts. (When its again malware, pls tell me how to upload it for you)

Exactly. From what I heared devs make only like 5 transactions a day of IOTAs (bought at ICO) to their original investors. So they need to hurry up if they really want their project to succeed.
That's the reason I can't donate, because I cannot receive IOTAs from a guy, who hasn't received his own. Ridiculous situation.
