It's better if you ask direct questions, but you can read this blogpost to get an idea of backstory and some of what lies ahead: https://medium.com/iotatangle

Donate to the Foundation : removed

Guys I dont have a huge amount of IOTA like some of you whales out there but I have donated what I can afford to the IOTA foundation.

Time is running out (only 4 days left I believe) and it will be in all our best interests for the Foundation to get enough funding to launch.

Chip in what you can Wink

Just make up a password, start the wallet then generate an address.

Make sure your seed is random, consists of 81 uppercase characters and the number '9'.

Do we need to uninstall old version and delete DB before installing latest version v1.0.0-minus1?

Also, when moving genesis account to new wallet what are the pro tips, do's and don't's - I get the impression from slack that many people have had troubles. Is there a summary of moving genesis steps?

I believe yes, it is advisable to delete the DB files before installing the latest version. Exchange some node IPs in order to have a sound neighbour list and leave it running for the sync. It usually catches up really fast.

The first thing to do, indeed, is to send the whole balance of the genesis account towards a fresh new address, and wait for the 100% persistence.

At first it is possible that you get the "tangle is not solid" error, due to still weak connections. If your neighbour nodes are "healthy", just by leaving your node running for a while will be enough fot a stronger connection, solving the issue (it seems that generating addresses also helps).

Sometimes the transaction from genesis will remain 0% like "forever" (hours without reaching the 100%). The solution I suggest is to create a new transaction (like double spending the first unconfirmed one). In some minutes the second transaction will finally receive the 100% persistence.

I have got three different nodes, and they have been working great.

Thanks! Is there a limit on how large a transaction can be? I see mention of 3.8Ti, is that true? My genesis balance is greater than 4.5Ti, can I send all of it in one transaction to the new wallet?

Yes, limit is 3.8Ti
So you need to make 2 addresses and to make 2 transactions.

- seed is a brainwallet yes so if you use "test" anyone else that uses that same phrase can access your account. Use 81 characters A-Z and number 9.

- Sign up to slack.iotatoken.com and come to the chat to ask for neighboring nodes.

Hi. Can someone post a list of nodes. Somehow complicated to enter in the slack forum.

Openly publishing nodes is not recommended by the devs due to security reasons. You better go to Slack becasue there is a node sharing channel for you to exchange nodes with other people privately.

IOTA Foundation is still short ~22.2 Ti (~2220 Ti). If rest funds don't get raised in time, IOTA will fail*. Please Donate ASAP, this might be the last chance to save your investment!! http://foundation.iotatoken.com/

Dead line for Donations is 19.07 if I recall right.

*This is my Personal opinion.

Some of us can't donate yet. So they should extend deadline.
