What I didn't see in that article is whether families will join the players in the quarantine, or not? I know that rumor was that families will be with the players, i just don't know what was the final decision regarding that. I sure hope they gave up on that idea, for their own safety.

Better if they just do it like playing NBA2k20 with audience settings turned "off". 

I don't know about players though. If their families will be joining them and cannot even watch them live then there is no point.
Let them stay at home.
I know they want even just a little amount of fans on the sideline for more authorities with their dunks and threes.

Agree with that, even if it's their family, we never know if they are carrying the virus as only the NBA players are betting monitored, they just give a little sacrifice as this is just temporary, they need to do this for the sake of safety resuming the season and they can finish it without problems relating to corona virus. I understand that it's a hard sacrifice not seeing their family, but for once, they have to do this as they are earning well and it's their job to make this business alive again by give the entertainment to the fans.

As you can see, they use stuffed toys in replacement for audience for the time being. Kind of weird though   but it is better than leaving those thousand of seats empty  . I can't imagine Adam Silver would approve this idea  .

That's the right term, they need to sacrifice because they are a warrior that needs o provide entertain to us in this tough situation we are facing now.

He's denying the allegations. I don't mind if it's true or not.

But this is now the hard part starts for the league. The division for the decision of their players will start to crumble but at the end of the day, they have to understand that it's the league that has to be followed, not them following themselves.

It matters if you are playing in the same team while you have a different belief.
Racism and then pandemic issue.
It just keeps on getting worse.
These players should start with something.
Showcase unity using their career in hoops and bring people together once again in a peaceful manner.

We as fans, we need that in this very bad days of our lives.
We need hope and somehow they might provide it if we see them playing.

It doesn't feel right if you are either watching or playing live without people around.
At least now all the seats are really taken.
How much did they pay? Those sideline seats might be expensive.

I think there was talks about a deal between NBA and NBA2K so that they would put 2K crowd noises in the arena as well. I am sure it wouldn't be remotely the same because hearing it right near you versus hearing it from the big speakers will be hugely different but it is not going to be something totally irrelevant. 2K got those sounds from the real games themselves, it is real sounds from real fans in real games so it is not totally different from the real thing.

The biggest difference is the sounds will be similar, so when you dunk 10 times in a game you will hear the same cheer at least 2-3 times and when you shoot threes 20 times as a team you will hear the same cheer at least 5-6 times. That could really get into your head and make you play more emotionless which could help some players but hurt some others.

I think they would rather play like a streetball kind of game. Fans are your teammates.

 They are definitely hit financially but not enough to be incapable of paying 3 million dollars for hotel expenses. NBA itself could pay those if they want to with all the sales they get and all the licenses and tv rights and so forth. However do not forget that team owners are not just doing this as a job, they also usually have other jobs they make money as well and 3 million dollars for a person who owns a team that worths over a billion dollars is usually nothing, not even increase of the teams value which would be tenfold each season at least. So at the end of the day they will definitely pay it up easily without a problem, hell having 8 games would cover that 3 million dollars alone with tv rights alone even if no fans and no merchandise sales.

Agreed. Similar to what Dana White of the UFC has told everyone in a press conference, continuing to produce live sports is more expensive than closing down during this pandemic.

Maybe it's true that it's expensive but they would not resume if they are not profitable, they have a big expense, so they need to exceed that with their income so they will operate profitably.

Compared to not resuming at all, no expenses or less expenses but people working on UFC does not have income, so they will struggle.

Dana considers the expenses similar to an investment. The ratings of the UFC has risen compared to before the coronavirus. It introduced mixed martial arts to new viewers because Dana is the only sports commisioner offering live sports.

The investment might create more profit back later after the pandemic.

I think I know how does it look like when they play with only sound effects instead of audiences. I have downloaded moded NBA games back in 2018 where there were no audiences the only thing you can hear is the sound effect when they shoot the ball and the referee's whistles when they fouled. No one shouts like "overrated" and audience's praising or taunt words written in white cardboard.

That's also my point, Cousin's is very prone to injury, he was even injured before the NBA started its season and he hasn't played a single game in the current season. Cousin's made some good contribution to the warriors but he wasn't really that healthy with the Warriors as he was also injured many times, so you are right, it could come back anytime as cousin been so fragile already.

I agree with you. This guy for 3 years has problems with injuries, and the younger will not be. His health is a great unknown, and form is not certain. Remember that Wall will also come back after a serious injury, it is not known how his body will bear the load. It will be a huge risk to base the team on these two players + Beal. Take him only as a complement to the roster, and if the form and health will be good, Wizards can become one of the leading teams in the East.

It's not really a big problem if they will get Cousins, he is not into a expensive contract anymore since his valued has dropped due to injury, but he can still contribute to the team, getting him doesn't mean he will be a starter,  if he is given a limited minutes as long as quality minutes for the team, I think he would be a great help.

Agree with you, his current value has already dropped as we can see in the article your shared, he is like a stocks that is dropping its value and might not recover again, but if Wizards will take chances, they'll get him with a good value as somehow he can can still contribute.

it's just unfortunate for him that he is now prone to injury, I was expecting that he will be one of the biggest stars in the NBA as he is good big man with some skills in outside shooting.

No, I don't think so.
He had contributed a lot for the Warriors team and mostly when Steph Curry is out he is the offensive weapon.
And let us not forget how good his defense is. He worked so hard for it.
