If you really want to compare AD and Lebron with a duo in the past of the Lakers then it could be Kobe and Pau. Pau also shoots the ball from the outside and is defensive on the inside. Davis is just better with his versatility. If he will gain more experience then I am sure he will dominate even the best forwards of the league. The good part is, he has his own style that plays a big role for the team. AD is some kind of player that appeared only in 20 years, in other words, we haven't someone plays like him before in the last years. he has some unique skills and lots of room for improvement. I hope these duos with Lebron James will bring them back to back championships this upcoming seaon. I definitely agree with that, AD has more room to breath now as he is not the only one who is carrying the team, he has Lebron James and his teammates that will not disappoint him if he needed some support. unlike on his previous team where he is the only one who carries the team and that makes him injury prone, that shoulder of him has been bothering him, good thing he has not suffered injury with the Lakers.

Nah, I believe Kobe was too clutch to be compared to LeBron but yeah that's the nearest tandem we can compare from the past Lakers team. I believe that Davis has way more potential to become a legend looking at it right now he really is on that level to KD, Harden, Curry and more.

I remember those comments in their match against Boston the first time. Pau took it personally, so the next time they met the Celtics in the finals, Pau show his strength against Garnett, Glen Davis, Kendrick Perkins. So they are not in the same league to me. We can't really compare them, different era of playing and the game style has evolved so much that a player with AD's caliber is really something special. Now team that with Lebron in Lakers then instant championship. I agree that AD is the big difference, he takes the load of Lebron shoulder to do the scoring of his own and hitting clutch if needed. Pau has his days with the Lakers team, of course as the second option behind Kobe. Will AD can become the first option if needed.

We can't level him to Harden, forget about this guy, ha hasn't won a championship yet. Curry and KD are both good but they have their individual skills, Curry is more on a 3 point shooter and a goo PG, while Durant is a shooter and a good defender as well, on the other hand, I guess Davis is just something special compared to players playing a center position as he is so versatile. I really impressed by him when he shot a winning 3 points in the playoffs, I think that was against the Nuggets. he is a clutch player, LEBRON, not!

~ Damn, that was a long list. I made an effort reading them all but none of them really WOW'ed my eye. It's like everything is for the future. I know! They are probably the Sixers 2.0 with the "Trust the Process". ~ I have only one question. What are they going to do with too many draft picks? Beats me. Maybe they are trying their luck to have a young Durant-Westbrook-Harden type of line up again. One thing I understand is that they do not have a plan to win the title or be in the playoffs next season with all these shuffling and reshuffling of players.

AD is the guy other forward/centers fear in the league. He is one of the best defenders at his position and one of the most skilled on offense at his position. If he gets any better the rest of the league can kiss their chance at a championship goodbye. Dude is scary good.

You can definitely go back even furhter and say magic and kareem is definitely something Lebron and AD can be compared to.
I understand that Shaq was something else, dude was so dominating that I have never seen anyone like him ever, dude had a peak that was unstoppable, no player in the history of the sports was as great as Shaq when he was on his peak, the difference is the fact that shaq had like a few year peak, before lakers and after lakers were not really "peak" shaq, it was still good many years but it wasn't as peak as lakers years. Magic and Kareem however works very well, Lebron is a great tall passer and scorer, AD is great inside and good with defense with his long arms, those two duo's definitely have a lot of things in common and knowing Lebron, dude basically created his game based on Magic as well.

Oh yeah, that's good. I agree with btc_angela though. Different era, different style of play. They are now creating their own history. Soon, they will be the ones being compared to new players. Lebron first of course. ~ Damn, that was a long list. I made an effort reading them all but none of them really WOW'ed my eye. It's like everything is for the future. I know! They are probably the Sixers 2.0 with the "Trust the Process". Yeah, but their process is going to damnation. No chemistry and strong players are being traded. i.e. Adams and Schroder. Are they trying to build a team for the future like Knicks?

Funny that the Knicks actually came to my mind while I was checking their (OKC) recent trades - I was like "they're following the Knicks!". But like I said above, the only logical reason for their move is that they're trying to hit the jackpot again like how they landed that trio. If not that, then something similar to what the Warriors did.

Agreed. There was no one like shaq before him and no one like him after. His size was just unmatchable. I remember "back in the day", a shoe store had a shaq replica sneaker, I think it was a US size 21 or something rediculous. It looked like a clown shoe. Only thing you could do to stop him was "hack a shaq" and hope he misses the free throws

I guess Shaq's sneakers will look like clown shoes on any one person who will wear them. I also remember some funny videos with Nate and Shaq while both were in Boston Celtics. Nate had some problems when he tried to put on Shaq's shoes.

TBH, I'm afraid on how the Bucks will be this season with their current roster. This might be the same as LeBron carrying a heavy load back when he is on the Cavaliers. It doesn't mean that they are a weak team but if you will compare this year's roster and last year, the last year's roster is obviously better than the current one.
I have the same concern about the roster of Lakers. The last season's roster was stronger than the current one. But that's it, change of roster has happened and even though some of them from the last season was out of them anymore. The current roster is still strong and recognizable and is likely to have a back to back. Yeah, Anthony Davis is still on the lakers and that will be one of the difficult to guard player including Lebron. Their tandem is really a good tandem where Lebron can either shoot and Davis can make a rebound due to height advantage or Lebron could also pass into him inside the court and make the basket. This is how Kobe and Shaq strategy they applied. Lakers wanting to get shooters and at the same time a tall player that can dominate inside the ring. This is how they played most of their game. Their tandem can be compared to the legends but they're unique in their own. The new roster took out some good but can't say if they're also key players as these two. I'm talking about Green and Howard. And you know what's with the news lately? It's about Pau Gasol's desire to play with his brother on Lakers. https://www.slamonline.com/nba/pau-gasol-lakers-nba-comeback-marc/

Reading all related articles about that, I see that aside from he wants to play his brother, Marc, he badly wants to retire as a Lakers. Almost consider retiring after injuries but really wants to do it in a Lakers jersey (last played in 2019 with only 3 games with the Bucks). Pau was also willing to take any offer (well, he should) for his target to be considered signing again to the Lakers. If by any means, that was possible to happen but a waste slot if Pau will get injured again. His situation is different when the Lakers sign the veterans e.g Dwight Howard, Rajon Rondo (which are still on their post-prime).

Honestly, I don't see this guy playing basketball anymore, last time I saw him was when he was knock out cold by Jake Paul, I hope he will stop boxing.

But he wants to play inside the ring, maybe the Lakers management will consider him adding to the roster but at what cost will that be? we don't know. He's a veteran and has a name but you are right that because of his capacity, he won't do better than other young players that has also gained experience which can contribute better to the team. But if that's he wishes to do, I hope Lakers will grant his retirement wish.

It's good if Lakers will get him so he can retire as a Laker, also this is his chance to play with his brother in the NBA as they never played before, I see them playing well only with the Spain where two Gasols are a big threat in the inside. Hopefully the Lakers management will give him a chance, Gasol helped the team to achieve multiple championships in the past, so his contribution to the team is unquestionable.

I've seen some players that have given a veteran's salary (correct me with the term because I don't know the exact term for it). Unfortunately, the Laker's roster is done already base on this site: https://basketball.realgm.com/nba/teams/Los-Angeles-Lakers/13/Rosters/RegularI'm not sure if they will change something in their current roster but if that is their final line-up then I don't think that they will sign him still.

I just saw Dr.Disrepect playing with Jamal Murey on youtube today and it was kinda fun to watch as both are good entertainers. Futhermore, we are 2 days away from the beginning of Pre-Season of NBA and we have some great games in the opening. I will watch both Chicago Vs Hornets and Lakers vs Clippers in the 1st day of the Pre-Season even if we know they will have a slow pace basketball.
