Maybe it's really too much of superstars in the line up, experienced and old but not contributing as well as expected like WB and Carmelo.

It's not too much, an NBA player is called a superstar  if he is talented enough, without the proper guidance, a player will never be effective, so what I'm seeing here is the problem not coming from the player's side, it's from the coaching side.

Coach has a major responsibility to make the team better, he has the talents needed to win a championship but he was not able to utilize them effectively. Maybe some people have a different view, some blamed a player or players, while some blame it solely on the coach, whatever their opinion, it will not help to make the Lakers great this season, they have been struggling with very little improvement, so I think their chance is pretty low.

In my opinion, they need to let AD go and trade instead of the team expecting for him to be healthy all throughout the season where in fact he can't. Just get another younger big out there that will be a good fit for the team. Right now, Howard really needs more minutes but even him is past his prime already.

Like who? I don't think that idea will save the Lakers from being a mess. Even prior to Anthony Davis sitting out because of injury, they are struggling. If everything can be solved by trading a player, then it should be always the solution that a team always does but it's not that simple.

They need to find the solution with hard brainstorming on the desk. What are they lacking? What's the problem why they are inconsistent? What's up with the rotation? What's up with everything? And so on.

Firing a coach is an option but I don't also think it will change the whole Lakers. What they need is an adjustment but I can't understand why it takes too long for the chemistry to maintain its consistency.
I can recommend some good bigs right now but I'm not saying that it will change the whole team but at least having some changes to the team will help the team to be a better one at least with their current roster. Well trading is gambling for them because they don't know if the player that they will get will be fit for them in this case, their whole team is kinda messy and lacks something that is why they are at the 7th spot.

I agree with what you said that they need to have a deep talks. They need to know what is the problem to the team. They need to know what the team is lacking with and solve that problems. Maybe the reason why the team is inconsistent right now is the fact that the players aren't fit for each other.

If they would want to trade someone from the team, it should not be AD because he proved himself to the team already and gave them a championship. I guess it will be Westbrook that will be traded and bring in guys a bunch of players that will provide some contribution for better rotation.

Lakers managed to beat Orlando but we have to remember that Orlando is literally at the bottom of the league with only 8 wins. So, it was always expected of Lakers to win against Orlando and for some reason people are acting like that is a big win. On top of that they are shopping Westbrook now, or at least that is what was talked about on Reddit, and Rockets were interested in him.

A Wall for Westbrook trade could realistically happen and that would be even worse for Lakers as well. Lakers just need to find a way to play Westbrook better, they haven't done that all year and they are acting like Westbrook is the problem. They should have gotten a better player to start off with, he just doesn't fit the system, but if they really want to change something then it should be their head coach and not westbrook, I am not his big fan but at least he is working hard.

Exactly, if they played against a team with at least 0.500 standing, it will be tough for them, they are lucky to beat the Magic with a very bad home record.

On top of that they are shopping Westbrook now, or at least that is what was talked about on Reddit, and Rockets were interested in him.
So what's gonna happen, will they trade John Wall for Westbrook again?

This is too funny if it's going to happen but it's all business in the NBA at the end of the day. Both of them have almost similar contracts so the deal makes sense in that regard.

It would benefit Rockets since they can at least use a player they are paying on games.

Lakers could try something new since pairing WB with Lebron and AD isn't really working for them. John Wall could hit some shots from mid-range or long-range at least and they need that.

At this point it only makes sense to take on Russell Westbrook if you are getting draft capital back.  Especially for a team who isn't going to compete this year.  What would a team like houston do with Westbrook? He will only take minutes from the young guys who need court experience.  My guess is russ doesn't go anywhere.

Maybe that's what the Rockets want. I mean, it would be a good deal for the Rockets if the Lakers offered them Westbrook and a few draft picks as compensation. Although it's unlikely because it's just a rumor, and the Lakers probably won't make meaningful changes to their roster until the offseason.

wow, is this really true? Is there a possibility to trade Westbrook and Wall?

Do you believe that if you trade Westbrook the Lakers will improve significantly? Is Russell the "problem" in the Lakers?

Honestly I don't understand this negotiation

I would say that with the form the Lakers are on right now, even a win against Magic, who are at the bottom of the table, will give them a slight morale boost they very badly need right now.

And I don't think that trading Westbrook for Wall would be bad for them in my eyes. WB hasn't been able to create the chemistry needed with his teammates so far and you know, Paul George is a very important position for a team's build-up.

So I think it's worth a try to give Wall a shot and see how he does. Moreover, WB has aged and I personally think that he has left his golden times way behind in his past.

If they would want to trade someone from the team, it should not be AD because he proved himself to the team already and gave them a championship. I guess it will be Westbrook that will be traded and bring in guys a bunch of players that will provide some contribution for better rotation.
Hmmmmm Ok lets remove Davis from the trade talks already and I think you are right that AD proved himself to be worthy with the team because he gave the team a championship alongside Lebron but I hope that he will  not be injury prone so he can give the team another championship.

With regards to Westbrook, its pretty obvious that he isn't fit to the team because with his whole career this season is the worst and I think many will agree with me Smiley. Trading him and some old players will help the team as a whole.

Many might agree with me that the Phoenix Suns are the most balanced team right now in the league.
In the NBA Finals last season, I believe that Phoenix can beat Milwaukee on that series. Its just that the Suns doesn't have any substitution for Ayton that can fill his spot and can at least defend Giannis. Now 2021-2022 season, they acquired McGee which is a big help for the team and correct me but this is his best season in his whole career (better than when he is in Warriors) and now they also acquired Biyombo who performed well after giving him a 10 day contract and we know that he is also a reliable big back when he is in the Hornets.

Suns have shooters, initiator, passers, a reliable bigs everything that is why they are at the top spot right now. I just hope that there will be no injuries to the players and I think that they can reach at least the WCF or the NBA Finals again. Well, its just my opinion though Smiley. Correct me if there is something wrong.

I agree. This is the magic of Chris Paul. He did it in Clippers, Rockets, and Thunders. Who would have thought that OKC will be in the playoffs after that big trade with Westbrook. The basic thing that would happen is the team will have problems with chemistry and cooperating with him but that wasn't the situation. CP3 made it look like they are on one team for a very long time.  Grin
Next to it is GSW. Both teams that are on top have a high level of chemistry and next to them also has that kind of bond Memphis Grizzlies. It's amazing how they climbed the ladder from being on the lower seeds and now at the top 3 of the West.

They are so far the most balance team because they have good chemistry, just recently the Warriors are struggling but when they are in tune, I still think they are better than the Phoenix Suns. For now, I give it to the Suns but when playoffs come, it will be a different story.

I think it would be a win for everyone in my eyes.

Firstly, NBA is now a business first and a sport second.
So these types of trades will happen now and then. And I think both the rockets and Lakers will benefit from this trade. WB hasn't been playing that well lately with the Lakers and maybe he could do with a change to his team and teammates.
The Lebron - Westbrook duo doesn't seem like they are clicking with each other and their chemistry is not that good and that was visible on the pitch. Also, the Rockets could do well with WB in my opinion, so I think it's worth a shot for both teams.

They should have gotten a better player to start off with, he just doesn't fit the system, but if they really want to change something then it should be their head coach and not westbrook, I am not his big fan but at least he is working hard.
wow, is this really true? Is there a possibility to trade Westbrook and Wall?

Do you believe that if you trade Westbrook the Lakers will improve significantly? Is Russell the "problem" in the Lakers?

Honestly I don't understand this negotiation

Everything is possible though in NBA, everyone is not safe to be traded from the Lakers, maybe Lebron is the only one. But Russell Westbrook? the management will trade him in a heart beat if they think he is the problem with the Lakers woes.

So this news might have some weight though, but we will have to see. Maybe the management is really thinking of trading their coaches right now or just players.

John Wall is more consistent than Westbrook in terms of shooting and being a point guard. the only problem is his health, he might be a problem if he is injury prone, so it's a gamble for the Lakers to trade Westbrook for Wall. Let's see how these rumors will end up though.

Do you guys think CP3 has a chance to win the MVP race if we are not looking at just stats only?
Obviously, when it comes to stats Nikola Jokic will be the winner of it but when it comes to impact to the whole team and how he administered the Phoenix Suns in good and bad times CP3 has the upper hand. Those kinds will not be seen in stats but you can see it with how he maneuvers the pace of the game whenever they need it.
Isiah Thomas thinks so and I do see his point after watching the Suns game.

I didn't check it but what are the odds of CP3 winning the MVP race for this year?

Nikola Jokic was not the front runner as far as I remember last year, it was just after the All Star Break that his statistics went off the roof. And then it's totally depending on the votes though, maybe CP3 might get some this year for the impact he is bringing to the Suns. But I think they are going to still look at the numbers though, and how good the player is overall.

I think it will be too much if they offered draft picks. I mean a 1:1 trade will be suffice enough, in my opinion. Yeah, maybe a Lebron + WB pairing is really a bad combination, as obviously they are not clicking at this point. And I would say that the blame might be in WB here, Lebron is playing high level basketball, but WB was a total disappointment in Lakers uniform.
