Nothing to mine here ?

No the mining phase finished some time ago but we might look into getting a multipool for MOIN set up if there's demand for it.

This is going to be POS 2.0 correct?  If you are switching over to current SDC codebase I assume so but wanted to double check because if not, those superblocks are basically encouraging people to only run their client once every 2 weeks so they can save up their coinage and enormously increase their chances of hitting a superblock.  People who do run their clients 24/7 and support a healthy network would be punished in favor of those who do not support the network.

We're not especially fond of YoBit either and don't consider it a serious exchange. We've considered asking them not to list v2, but that might be a bit extreme. In any event we definitely will be talking with other exchanges as soon as the swap has begun and encourage community members to do the same.

Coin Swap

The supply has been increased ten-fold and every MoinCoin will be swapped for 10 MOIN.

For people new to the project, we took it over some time ago after the original developers disappeared.

For the time being MoinCoin v1 is still available from YoBit

We'll be posting swap instructions in the next few days.

Here you go.

Yobit is not too good exchange. Why you don't try Bittrex or at least Cryptsy?

lolololol all you could come up with is secure instant messaging?  That's what adding a message to a transaction does in essence.  There is literally nothing new here.  Pass.

You're right, and well done for spotting it. Ideally we'd have been on PoS 3.0 for the superblocks stage, but we wanted to launch now. The strategy you outlined will give people the best chance of hitting the blocks (and the one we expect most people to use), but the team will be running more than enough nodes to keep the network strong in the interim.

We felt it was a worthwhile compromise because we wanted to generate some excitement and reward stakeholders in the early stages. While it doesn't encourage people to stake continuously, it does encourage them to install the client and not to entrust the keeping of their MOIN to exchanges. After the superblocks stage, the PoS interest rate remains 50% for another 9 months or so, giving people a very good incentive to continue staking. Therefore, we believe the net effect will be a larger, more robust network in the long-term (and five very happy superblock recipients).

Yeah, I suppose at this stage encouraging a large robust network isn't exactly top priority.  The superblock period only lasts 2 1/2 months anyway.  It's pretty much just a marketing ploy to grow the MOIN community in it's early days.  Nothing wrong with that plus it's fun and potentially rewarding.

I've got a few thousand of these on yobit that I never dumped so I may as well come along for the ride.  I'll be keeping an eye on this.

Great! The only thing holding me back from buying more right now is yobit. I feel like I'm taking my life in my hands every time i send bitcoins there.
