Hip hip hoooray! hip hip hooray!   Grin  Happy birthday to MOIN.  Slow and steady is the pace and there is nothing wrong with that.

Yes Happy Birthday to MOIN!

I agree I prefer slow and steady then something that is rushed just to build up the price and then it is dumped which I have seen many times before. But I know at MOIN it is different and that's what attracted me to this coin and also the dev and community. I was watching this coin for a while before I decided to jump in and in all that time like I said in a previous post the price of MOIN has been steady and even when we had the BTC price rise before the block halving and even in recent times the MOIN price has been holding strong compared to many other Altcoins which have fallen in price. This tells me that the people who invested into MOIN are in it for the coin and dev to see MOIN succeed and not to make a quick profit for BTC.

Keep doing what you are doing KingCaper as you are doing a great job and I and all of the MOIN community know that it will be well worth it in the near future.

I can promote your project on X to my 100k+ followers for a reasonable price. Just DM me for prices.
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Great that work is still moving along nicely. Although I think it would be good to know what direction it's heading. I like to be in crypto I'd actually use myself instead of just looking for hype or over-saturated niches.

Hello,

When I install a new wallet Linux 64 it shows 0 connections and sync with out movement.

Why a new wallet install doesn't find connections by it self? This is a concern.

My system UBUNTU 16.04 LTS 64

Also, please update bootstrap dat from download page

Thank you, happy birthday moin!

I understand. It's a strategic move that I think will benefit us in the long run. If it helps any I'm not interested in hype or over-saturated niches either.

MOIN is one of the best POS coins in crypto right now and is performing very well even with the rise of BTC. We are now at over 600 sats and heading towards 700 sats which is great to see. While most POS coins are falling in price MOIN is rising or staying steady in price, this shows that this coin is not a pump and dump coin and has proven that it can maintain a consented price range between 450 to 600 sats for many months now.

Hello,

I am now testing MoinX on wallet in system UBUNTU 16.04 LTS 64.

I have converted 20 moin to MOINX. My new basic concern is that when I want to send 20  moinx to another stealth address it just show 0 moin, also error of ring size:

1.1.

1.2.

As you notice in Send window moinx is shown as MOIN in middle bottom as zero.

2.1. How to use MOINX?
2.2. Does it work?
2.3. Is it a bug?

Thank you,

In BITCOIN we Trust.

Thank you,

Thanks ilog, I'm really glad you're trying out the the anon transactions. With stuff like this going on I'm glad we've got the option. There was a UI bug causing the wallet not to report the MOINX balance on the send page. I've pushed a fix to Github so you can pull and build now - I'll get binaries built today or tomorrow. Please pm me your address so I can send you a small token of my gratitude.

As for how the MOINX transactions work, there's a pool of outputs that's added to every time someone converts MOIN to MOINX. These MOINX outputs each have public keys that can be used to construct the ring signatures when making a private transaction. At the moment hardly any MOIN's been converted so you can only make transactions with small ring sizes, but as more MOIN is converted to MOINX this will cease to be a problem. For full technical details have a read of SDC's whitepaper (MOINX is our equivalent of the private "Shadow Tokens").

It's not going be fully functional till more people are using it, so I encourage everyone to have a play around with it if you're interested. The shadow docs do a good job of explaining how to convert back and forth etc.

I am going to convert some of my own MOIN to MOINX as well out of curiosity and to help make more inputs available.

It occurred to me also maybe this would be a practical use of some portion of the Moin Foundation Fund?  How would people feel about the idea of converting some of it to MOINX?  Just a thought.

Cool.  I would be fine with that and it would increase the MOINX pool significantly.  We can see if anyone else weighs in.

I don't think there is a specific limit.  Earlier in IRC I asked KingCaper if there was any special thing to keep in mind with size of chunks when converting.  Basically a variety sized conversions can be beneficial because it makes more possible amounts of MOINX available.

If you meant the Moin Foundation Fund specifically it currently has a little over 90k MOIN in it so we could convert maybe 45k of that.

Hello,

1. I think conversion should be done in various size parts at different time and day.
That would greatly help MOINX network to get stronger as it is weak now.

2. I would suggest that all Moin holders need to convert at least couple thousands MOIN to MOINX in manner suggested above.

3. Please, drop me your stealth address I want to test it. I will send 10 moinx to 4 people each.

4. Jookly you should announce the amount of conversion. How much MoinX and Moin will Moin  Foundation Fund have.
Nice work with the website. I really like the idea.

Thank you,

I will definitely make the conversion as transparent as possible.  Just going to wait to talk to KingCaper and hopefully get a little more community feedback before proceeding.

I am going to PM you my stealth address for testing.  I know the bitcointalk people dont like addresses posted in the threads for some reason so I suggest that everyone use the PM function for address communication.

I spoke with KingCaper on IRC and he explained to me that the conversion is reversible.  Once I understood that, it seemed like less of an issue that needed extra feedback on, since we can always convert them back if we need to for some reason. With that in mind I went ahead and proceeded with converting a little over half of the fund.  In the end I converted 47777.666619 MOIN to MOINX.

This means the Moin Foundation fund is now at 47777.666619 MOINX and 42840.19894161 MOIN .

I took screenshots during the process of conversion for proof and will be creating a moinmovement.org post to share those with everyone.  I will post a link to that here when it is ready.  In the meantime though you can look at the MOINX chain tab of the wallet and see there are many more outputs available.

Ok I did a little write up about the conversion at http://www.moinmovement.org/news/the-moinx-chain

Also tweeted it from the moin movement twitter account https://twitter.com/MoinMovement/status/809093129055961088

As usual feedback is always appreciated so let me know if I got anything wrong.

Thanks,
  Jookly
