Hello,

Do you know this https://chainz.cryptoid.info/ ?

Thank you,

In BITCOIN we Trust.
Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Hello,

Do you know this https://chainz.cryptoid.info/ ?

Thank you,

Yeah I have been to that website in the past to look at various chain info.  Do you think we should look into possibly getting a MOIN explorer up there? I'd be happy to drop them a message

edit: went ahead and sent them a pm to look into it

Hello, everyone!

Great to see that MOIN is thriving!

This morning I was so surprised by epic 50 % price increase.
As I bought just a few Moin for testing purposes. I delayed to acquire a bigger chunk to hold. That was a mistake.

As I am going to see myself as life long participant in this community.  I advice that before PLATFORM release we should get on
exchange like Poloniex, that would be a reasonably epic move.

Kind Regards,

In BITCOIN we Trust.

Yeah! That price rise was a surprise for sure and it is great to see MOIN doing so well in general

You are right ilog getting on Poloniex would definitely be a reasonably epic move.  It seems that not many people have information about how they actually select coins for listing though.  Maybe the platform will make MOIN stand out to a large exchange like them, that would be fantastic.

As a fun side note check out this 3D printed MOIN logo that a community member made today:

Yes it is and I have been saying for a long time now that even though the BTC price is rising and most Alts falling Moin seems to stay steady or increase in price like it has done over the past week even though the BTC price has been rising. Most other POS coins have been crashing hard lately but not MOIN which makes this coin special and I think us holders know this and that's why no one really dumps their MOIN coins.

@Jookly

I also just re-tweeted that tweet to my 850+ followers.

Hello,

I am happy to see that community is strong.

There are no crazy retarded dumps and everyone is behaving as strong participant in Moin economy.

If everyone will hold, behave like now.
MOIN definitely will have a very strong and very respectful future.

This strong altitude toward the bright future of moin attracts me to obtain it. To become involved in the community even more.

Best Regards,

In BITCOIN we Trust.

hi MOIN in yobit and C-cex not same?

Hello @Adykingcity,

Please, check this link for information on what markets MOIN is listed:

     http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/moin/#markets

Moin is listed on Livecoin, Ccex, Cryptopia.

I don't know about yobit. I think it is not the same. @KingCaper @Jookly @vella85 Can you make an input?

Sincerely,

In BITCOIN we Trust.

I think the moin on yobit is the old moincoin version.
Price level is like 10x higher than current real-moin-price. Its definitely not the same.

as long as the exchange isn't listed on OP, I wouldnt consider it as the real one.

currentl exchanges on OP:
https://www.livecoin.net/trade/index?currencyPair=MOIN%2FBTC
https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Exchange/?market=MOIN_BTC

https://c-cex.com/?p=moin-ltc
https://c-cex.com/?p=moin-usd

You are correct. It has been an issue ever since before the swap.  For whatever reason yobit was not concerned about swapping to the new chain at the time, totally unresponsive to our inquiries.  I have always held out hope that some day they would decide to come around and list the real MOIN, even if they needed to relabel the old one to "OLDMOIN" or something.  So just to be super clear the MOIN ON YOBIT IS NOT THIS MOIN.

On a related matter I sent WorldCoinIndex an email explaining the issue with yobit moin.  I hadn't used their site yet but when I peaked at it I noticed they had yobit listed there along with our real exchanges.  Hopefully they will fix it on their side here soon.  *edit: WorldCoinIndex was very fast and responsive with removing erroneous yobit listing from their site. Well done.

Have a nice day ya'll

the problem with changing symbols of existing markets is that all consumers of their data will have to adapt it.
if suddenly another coin comes in and takes the same symbol, this would mean major risk to all trading bots and many other services.
It's not very good for our real moin, but I just wanted to say that I can understand the exchanges behaviour. I don't think we will ever be able to go to yobit with the "Moin" symbol.

also, as long as there is trading of the coin (which it seems that there is), why should they remove it? (yeah, I know other exchanges are handling this topic a bit different).

maybe it's a good idea, to write a warning on OP-section "exchanges" like "the MOIN on yobit is not this Moin - beware of confusion!" .. ?

Yeah I agree with everything you said.  There actually is a notice of this in the OP, we just might need to make it bigger if it becomes a problem.

Wow that is strange.
The old moin on yobit has 6 btc 24 hour volume. So it is the original moin chain then?
How is the coin staying active? Isn't there checkpoint servers ect that keep a coin healthy. Most of the coins where swaped though, I bet there is only  a few million coins in the float. Anyone have a old moin wallet around to get the coin count? Let's get the name changed to Moinc. (Moin Classic)! Lol

haha moin classic  Wink

There were ~356,855.5 "OLD" MOIN that were never swapped, resulting in 3,568,555 MOIN being burned at the end of the swap.  I dont know what portion of those original chain yobit had but it is somewhere between 0 and 100 percent.

At the time of the swap ending, the original chain was in really rough shape, I am fairly certain it would be a pretty big pain in the butt to revive, and would need to have some stats changed on it to function properly.  And besides.. why would you want moin "classic" which was a broken and abandoned coin over this one?  Cheesy

I can kind of brainstorm a few different "solutions" to this issue but I think in the end it really is a free market and yobit can do whatever they want.   So for now I just hope people know the two are different and that the moin being traded on yobit can not be sent anywhere and likewise the moin on c-cex, livecoin, cryptopia, and coinexchange exchanges can not be sent to yobit.

What do I do with wallet.dat I have from back up in the new moin wallet? I see I can make HD wallet now with phrases, but how do I restore wallet from a file. I went through all the options and can't find it...

I updated wallet to latest version on linux64, it's showing all balances as 0, while it says I'm staking with about the right network weight I had before. Kinda confused what to do with wallet.dat to get a clean start.

Hey ScaryV

The basic steps to restore a wallet.dat are to place it within the coin folder.  After you start the software it should use whatever wallet is in that folder at the time.

If you already took those steps and don't see a balance it could be that your wallet needs to finish syncing.  It could be your coins are all in "stake".  It could be that you are experiencing some sort of ui bug.  One other thing to check is your address on the block explorer.  You should see your balance there, or at the very least a record of the coins.

Let me know if that helps and if you are still having trouble we can get KingCaper's input.

MOIN was doing well with the steady price at around 800+ sats but thanks to the rise in BTC it has fallen off a little which I am taking advantage of and will buy some more MOIN to add to my stack.
