Still can't get my wallet to stop staking. Can I trade my coins in a few chunks at a time?

Yes it's no problem swapping in chunks. 'staking=0' in the conf file should have worked, but the chain has been moving a little slower since people started swapping so I don't know if it's just that the coins are taking a bit longer to come out of stake now. You also set it to stop staking in Settings>Options by putting a value larger than your wallet balance in the 'Reserve' box.

I've committed a fix to the moin.pro file so if anyone was having trouble building the Qt wallet on linux it should be fine now.

Thank you got my moincoin -> moin swapped!  Grin

Glad to hear it, the sooner everyone's on the new chain the better.  Smiley

I took it as excitement at the growing number of folk who've swapped over and are staking MOIN v2. As in "Daaaayyyyyuuuuum! Shit be goin' OFF!"

ok i was about to sink .5 btc into this project as i  like the look of the new wallet, and the time spent on moin2 + the Dev having in active account and not a newly created one. the wallet WILL NOT SYNC , i managed to get it to 2 blocks to go , and now nothing

dissapointed.

Q

Hi Quantify, here are some more nodes for version 1:

Code:
addnode=5.9.36.211
addnode=97.93.2.112
addnode=162.252.240.234
addnode=62.194.9.18
addnode=104.238.169.55

For anyone else syncing from scratch I've uploaded a bootstrap file to the site:

Moincoin v1 Bootstrap

(checksums)

Close your wallet, unzip the file and place it in your Moincoin data directory. Then reopen your wallet and wait while it's imported. It may take a couple of hours but it should still save you a little time this way.

N.B. A reminder to everyone that the version listed on YoBit is the old version which is not compatible with MOIN v2. Do not try to send coins from YoBit to new wallets downloaded from discovermoin.com. To swap to v2 please follow the instructions here.

what is the point of this coin?

That's a good question. We've purposely left parts of the OP vague. Partly because we like mystery. And partly because we weren't 100% sure what direction we'd be taking MOIN in the future.

For now the point is to deliver on the items laid out in the road map. We've fully re-branded, created a new website and new wallets (with many more features than the original), have begun the swap to MOIN v2 and have put in place an explorer and enough nodes to support the v1 network while people swap. I've also tried my best to be active and responsive on the forums. All in all, I think we're off to a pretty solid start.

Phase one is primarily about community building, but was also to give us time to investigate some of the other ideas we've had for MOIN. We've now settled on what we'd like to be the primary focus of development in phase two. It's a pretty ambitious idea and there are still many details to be worked out. The first step will be bringing over the HD wallet functionality from SDC as it's integral to the platform we'd like to build. It'll be centred upon a pretty specific use case and will give MOIN actual real world utility (making it more than just another e-token whose value hinges on the whims of speculators).

However, we won't be announcing full details until we're fully satisfied that it's feasible. I know that's not always the way things are done round here, but I've experienced enough disappointment due to false promises to do the same thing to others.

For us, MOIN is big or bust. There are enough mid-level coins that don't do anything useful. Whether they're willing to admit it or not, it's inevitable that the majority of crypto projects that don't serve a genuine purpose aren't going to survive. We're ambitious and driven and we're fully dedicated to this project. The point in the long-term is to see what a small group of passionate people can achieve by applying themselves to the best of their abilities to the problems and challenges they find most interesting. I think we might surprise a few people, hopefully including ourselves.

Bought some moin v1 a while ago wallet is stuck on a certain block , Yo-bit acknowledges this stuck, sending forever.. fantastic start!!

Only glad i did a tester before sinking .5 into this project

shame had high hopes for this project.....

WITHDRAWAL MOIN
Wallet status: Delayed (184949 blocks)

Yo-bit

Q

The v1 network has been moving in fits and stops as people swap over to v2. Nonetheless we've pledged to maintain that network until the swap is complete and will continue to so. There may be delays while coins come out of stake such as two hour one just experienced, but we will make sure that the chain keeps moving until everyone who wants to swap over has done so.

If you experience delays in future feel free to jump into the irc channel (#moin-crypto) where there are others who might be able to stake v1 coins if you need a transaction done in a hurry.

I apologize , As soon as i posted I Received my coins, I have sent to the burn address and filled out the form on your site,

I eagerly await my Moin v2 coins

Cant wait to get them, Hopefully you can get this listed on an exchange, Don't be so harsh as to criticize yo-bit as they are the only site listing your coin atm, and with no exchange listing or market you have no coin in reality, Speculators and investors is what makes alt cryptos tick ( trust me I would know Wink

Cant wait to receive and set my coins staking .... i will not sell i will support the network and hope in the future your hard work gets you listed in the places you deserve to be.

Happy it's sorted and thanks for the kind words.  Smiley

We don't really think of Moincoin v1 as ours to be honest (it's more an orphan we took pity on Cheesy), but I'm glad there's a place where people can trade it. I don't really have anything against YoBit per se, but all the ICOs and their "rise only" markets make buying something from YoBit seem more like gambling than investing, which is why we haven't approached them about listing MOIN v2. I think there are other exchanges MOIN would be better suited to. All in good time though.
