In times like this where everything is falling, POS coins seem to do well as the stakes can make up for the price of BTC falling. This is why I love MOIN so much as over the long term the stakes will out preform the BTC price falling.

On another note, we need more promotion for the raffle. I have been tweeting about this weekly to get more people joining in on this raffle. Maybe Jookly can let us know how its all going and if many people have participated so far.

I can promote your project on X to my 100k+ followers for a reasonable price. Just DM me for prices.

Okay thanks mate! Maybe you could also post this raffle in the giveaway threads on this forum? That will hopefully bring exposure to the raffle as well as social media which I have been doing but again not much interest which is a shame as people are missing out on something here. Anyway I look forward to seeing the stats on Sunday and thanks again Jookly for everything you do for the MOIN community.

Fortnightly Sunday Update #19

Hello everyone.  Time for another brief MOIN fortnightly update.  We will take a look at the submissions so far in the ongoing raffle, check in with the team, and as always encourage you to come get involved. Let's get going!

Laptop raffle update

The laptop raffle is half way through submissions now and so on the next bi weekly update we will be announcing a winner!  I thought it would be nice to tally up the submissions so far and share them with you all.  So far there have been 32 transactions that have bought a total of 213 tickets. Not too shabby!

Moin paper wallet design

Some folks were interested in a paper wallet and Axllht wanted me to pass along that he gave the MOIN touch to a design this week that he hopes to have ready very soon.  It looks great and just needs to be wired into the paper wallet generator code.

Join the MOIN community. Growing every day!

As always if you have any ideas for MOIN or just want to hang out with some like minded folks be sure to check out our communication chanels @ http://www.moinmovement.org/communicate.html .  Come say Hi!

Have a lovely day

Thanks for the update on the raffle my friend as this is what I have been waiting for. I've been promoting the raffle at least once a week on Twitter hoping to get some people involved and I think so far it has done well as I know a few of my followers have bought a few tickets. It would be nice to see it at 500 tickets before the end of the raffle but so far I think it has done well.

based on the above questions/answer from northa/vella85, I made some tests about the required size of moin balance for good staking results.
On 15th Jan 2018 23:42, I filled addresses with the following balances: 100/200/500/1000/2000/5000.

Now, after roughly 4 days and 12 hours, I have the balances below (The wallet was running nearly 24/7 in this period):
100 -> 100 = 0 staking rewards, 0%
200 -> 200 = 0 staking rewards, 0%
500 -> 503 = 2 staking rewards, +0.6%
1000 -> 1006 = 4 staking rewards, +0.6%
2000 -> 2009 = 6 staking rewards, +0.45%
5000 -> 5018 = 12 staking rewards, +0.36%

So I wouldn't try to stake coins with less than 500 MOIN balance on it.

In the long run, the percentage earnings from staking should align to each other.
I will continue to monitor the balances and report again here in a few weeks.
Staking Tests with various balances: 100/200/500/1000/2000/5000 - Update after one month

Time elapsed: 28 days / 4 Weeks    (snapshot taken at 13.2.18 01:06 GMT) (started on 15th Jan 2018 at 23:42)
The wallet was running almost 24/7 with only some minor downtime of a few hours. (Every address had the same downtime, as they run in the same wallet.)

100 -> 106         =   04 staking rewards   ->   6 %
200 -> 206         =   04 staking rewards   ->   3 %
500 -> 516.5      =   11 staking rewards   ->   3.30 %
1000 -> 1027.2   =   18 staking rewards  ->   2.72 %
2000 -> 2058.8    =   39 staking rewards   ->   2.92 %
5000 -> 5147.7    =   98 staking rewards   ->   2.95 %

as you can see, every address got some stake rewards, even those with only 100 and 200 moin in it.
so it's possible to stake with as little as 100 moin.

most of the addresses got almost the same interest of 3% during that month.

the 100moin-address with 6% doesn't mean that staking with smaller amount leads to better results. It just got lucky.
I will continue the experiment and report back. Hopefully we will see that all will approximate to the same percentage over time.

Nice work with keeping us updated on this little staking experiment as it does help newbies coming into MOIN, showing them what they can expect with the different amount of coins staking. It also shows how powerful compounding is when staking as we can earn a lot more then the 10% APR. It actually turns out to be a lot more then that if we just leave the coins compound for the year. Keep up the good work and I thought this posted deserved some merit so I gave you some!

Axllht finished up the MOIN paper wallet design and it is looking sharp. You can check it out over @ https://discovermoin.com/wallet_gen/ . You can also find the source code @ https://github.com/Jookly/MoinPaperWallet for downloading and running on your local machine. Enjoy!

Whitepaper In The Works

Im hearing rumblings from the development room about a MOIN whitepaper being written. This is something people have asked for many times and so I imagine it is also good to hear that progress is being made. I think we should hear more about this in the next days and weeks.

I have downloaded and installed my moin wallet. However, it still states that it is out of sync.  It has been 10 hours and still only 40% done.

Am I right in saying I cannot transfer any moin coins until this is complete? Why does this take so long?

The MOIN wallet will take a while to sync as the blockchain is pretty big now as the coin is over 2 years old. Now its always best to sync the wallet fully before sending coins to it and once synced up with the network, be sure to encrypt your wallet with a strong passpharse so that your coins will be safe. Once you have done this the wallet will then close and you then need to restart the wallet and then you can send your MOIN to the wallet. Its always best to be sure that the wallet is working perfectly so just send a couple of coins to test it out first. I hope this helps answer your question and good luck!

Fortnightly Sunday Update #21

It is that time again! The MOIN fortnightly update. This one will be pretty brief, not a lot has changed in the last two weeks for MOIN but I wanted to check in with you all anyhow.

Upcoming Whitepaper

That whitepaper I mentioned in the last update is still floating around getting feedback and proof reading.   It will be exciting to see the final document when it is ready.

Twitter Logistics

I have been talking to various people about changes we can make to our twitter accounts to make the experience less confusing or annoying.  Hopefully we will be able to implement some of these changes very soon as well.

Thats it for our short fortnightly update.  As usual feel free to stop by our any of our communication channels to say hello or leave feedback. http://www.moinmovement.org/communicate.html

Until next time - Jookly

Thanks for the update Jookly, I'm sure that once the whitepaper is released more people will be happy as this was the number one thing that most people wanted to see for MOIN. Just wondering how our good friend KingCaper is going? It would be nice to see him once in a while to see how he is going. Anyway I'm still loving MOIN and earning the nice staking rewards which are now at 1.52 MOIN per stake!

The market in Asia is also quite large, and it is hoped that the Moin will expand as soon as possible in the Asian market.

Did something happened with staking? I used to get like 1.5 stakes every 2 days...now it's been 5 days and nothing happened.
