I'm looking for some advice on storing my PIVX.

At the moment they are on the Bittrex exchange but I am considering downloading the PIVX Windows wallet and transferring them there. Which is safer from a hacking/loss of coins point of view ? Bittrex has Google 2FA whereas I don't think the wallet has that level of security, so which one is better ?

Any feedback/experiences from anyone regarding safely storing PIVX coins is welcome.

I think any exchange is risky when you are holding big amount of coins. You can encrypt your wallet with strong passphrase so even if somebody steals your wallet.dat he can't use it. And don't forget when you are holding coins in running wallet you can launch staking and get free coins.

If you are looking for safety, consider using a paper wallet and holding your coins in cold storage. You can generate a paper wallet using the online wallet tool, or by using the BIP38 tool in the wallet. I recommend using the in wallet tool.

Do you mean all masternode coins are pumping now?

Where to find information about coins with masternodes?

do you want to know how much pivx are locked for masternodes?
if yes check this link:
http://178.254.23.111/~pub/DN/DN_masternode_payments_stats.html

atm over 18 mio pivx are locked.
there is much nonsens atm about early investors/mn holders (and i'm one of them) dumping coins on new poeple here.

yes some do but most are holding and staking or masternoding Smiley like me. we belive in ths project!

sure we sell maybe some here and there but hey this is distribution and we have worked a lot in the past for maintaining/updating masternodes and stuff
we had some rough early days and we also want to pay fees for vps's and stuff.

all in all it was(is) a fun ride. so welcome to all new folks. there is still a lot to go for PIVX!

Cheers

Hello people

Welcome

What do you think of PIVX proyect vs DASH proyect?

Please don't ask questions like this in here, this only leads to coin vs coin wars which we don't like here
you can open a new thread at any time if you want to discuss such subject - thanks a lot

Do you think it's a legitimate project or do you think it can be a fail ?

legitimate? sure
can a coin project fail? yes any can fail even bitcoin see the whole fork discussion atm
but i highly doubt that pivx will fail.

the team is very good and strong:
https://pivx.org/about-pivx/

Thanks for your objective opinions.

edit: also check the roadmap and other infos on the website https://pivx.org/what-is-pivx/roadmap/ so you can do your own decision. allways recomended for most projects (not only crypto)

The codebase is forked from Dash and has had Proof of Stake added to it, and various other features such as BIP38, Multi-Send, etc. Dash and Pivx share quite a few things, but they also have many differences.

10,000 bro.. price is still not too shabby (it will get rough when we equate with the FIAT and I strongly belief we will, now around 40 cents..), git master is active. and there are folks even from Russia looking at the code

actually do hit slack channels.. its one of most active in crypto.. constant buzz

How many coins needed to consistently stake, (not be master node, just regular staking node)?
What I mean is what is a good amount to have to be able to keep staking continually as a regular staker. Let's say I want guaranteed to stake every week, how many coins do I need to have?

all my PoS staking chunks are broken into 2200-3000 Pivx + adding the staking reward  (sure i have some smaller chunks e.g. 1000s) but i experienced in 2200-3000 are staked regularly

if you follow the red line in    Stake Weight Spent  you can watch next coins to be staked (atm 4400 Pivx), but this is only a median average line - so don't count exactly on it cause coin confirmations also play a role

http://www.presstab.pw/phpexplorer/PIVX/index.php

btw - the median line goes up when new withdrawals from exchanges are made into staking wallets
