You should add the solution joel_ published to your request, not only hinting on the issue. That could speedup coinmarketcap a little. The formula is precise enough for at least several next weeks (the coins/day isn't constant, but on a known decline rate) - total supply will be just slightly below 21 mio coins - available supply atm is around 1.6 mio (dcr devs + airdrop) + around 8.9k coins/day * 7 days since launch = aprox. 1.662 mio coins.
Problem is, Coinmarketcap needs the way how to get this from dcrd or any other place automatically, which seems not possible atm. Lets hope devs will fix this asap, because it can gain additional visibility for DCR.
*edit At current prices (400usd/btc, 0.00282) the DCR capitalization is around 1.9 mio USD.
Added joel_'s solution in my request.

The best way to work against sockpuppets left after dev's checks is to set some low orders for there dumps to become your buys. That way those who missed the airdrop will get cheap coins & coins will be in hands of someone who wants to help in voting & staking & also well divesrsified. I am sure no cheaters got enough coins to affect decentralization/voting so dumping their coins is best way for them to make profit.
I agree. Also, based on the number of total submissions versus the final number of accepted particpants that also submitted an address (8,793 total, 3,244 successful participants -- in other words ~64% rejected), I don't imagine all that many scammers made it through anyways. Certainly there will be some since no process is perfect, but it is highly unlikely to be as bad as some of the trolls (who are, frankly, probably most likely lying anyways given they never followed up when specifically engaged about the supposed duplicates that made it through by _ingsoc) on this thread would like to lead people to believe. Interesting post, Dave. Do you, by chance, happen to personally know the lead dev on btcd? Perhaps a long shot, but do you know a Charlie Mason of charlie.com et al.? Or Daniel Brown? Or vendorbit.com? Note to Decred: I'm not trying to be an ass, but... I look forward to your civil reply, as all your replies have been. TY.

I can see DCR competing with BTC. DCR could reach 0.5 BTC to 0.95 BTC. In some instances it could be worth as much as BTC or even a bit higher. I even wonder if Coinbase, Bitpay, Bitstamp, ect... Could add DCR into their platform.

i know its a noob question, but please can someone tell me that how can i access my coins. all i am having is my seed, address and the wallet file containing 3 exe files in it. thanks in advance If you have the seed (and the possible password, if you used it) ... I suggest you to use wallet.decred.org - temporarily and after move it to your desktop wallet (once you will understand how to use it). @ aakashsangwan go to https://wallet.decred.orgClic on Create new wallet Clic on Show advanced options Clic on Specify your wallet seed Write your seed (33 words) Write your password i was asking for how to access my decred which i recieved in airdrop. i have downloaded the zip file from github so now what i will have to do to transferthose coins?? thanks again in advance

Alternatively, you can use the web wallet (as stated above) and import you airdrop seed to there.

yep, I am working on simple stats page for DCR - but more precise than approx. calculation = it will be connected directly to chain through dcrd web socket rpc and will expose simple call for actual amount of coins in existence (e.g. REQ: /dcr/v1/availableSupply ... RES: 1662000.00000000), so e.g. Coinmarketcap or others can use it.

Definitely get in touch with the devs about this too. This is quite an important feature that Decred needs in the near future.

As of 2016/2/12 there are left 2163 airdrop addresses unspent. ~27% of Airdrop receivers moved their coins As of 2016/2/13 there are left 2143 airdrop addresses unspent. ~28% of Airdrop receivers moved their coins As of 2016/2/14 there are left 2118 airdrop addresses unspent. ~29% of Airdrop receivers moved their coins As of 2016/2/15 there are left 2093 airdrop addresses unspent. ~30% of Airdrop receivers moved their coins As of today 2016/2/16 there are left 2069 airdrop addresses unspent. ~30% of Airdrop receivers moved their coins
Interesting fact: Even though the price was rising yesterday, there was no rising in airdrop spendings. People feel no motivation to dump their airdrops
